First Oekaki Drawing~

Postby Shadow » Tue Sep 01, 2009 12:56 pm

As the title says, this is my first time actually drawing something on Oekaki (I've only used it once before to colour a lineart).

Other than the back left foot and the tail, anatomy crits would be appreciated.

I will finish this later, but in the meantime, comments and crits are appreciated. ^-^

EDIT: Done for now, but comments and crits are still appreciated. Never mind this; see below~

EDITEDIT: It's been a while since I drew this (almost a year) and it's somehow magically in the Intermediate Oakaki, even though the anatomy isn't that great (I'm happy someone thinks it's decent enough to be here, though! :3). o3o Please don't bump it up, as my art has improved a lot since I did this drawing. I'll hopefully eventually do some more Oekaki art once I have the Oekaki pen pressure applet installed.

EDITEDITEDIT: It has been a really long time since I drew this! Since people can't seem to leave it alone, it's being locked. >D

First attempt? Shadow this is wonderful! <3

There's only a few tips I can give before you color, Maybe try making the tail a little fluffier and the hind leg that's farthest away a little bigger. That may make your disproportional problems go away.

Other than that, I honestly like it. What do you plan on coloring it?

Thanks~ <3 I fixed the tail and also fixed something with one of the legs, but didn't touch the other leg, for fear of messing it up. *lame* I'll keep proportion in mind, though, for my next drawing. :)

XD I forgot to add a background and shades (though I remembered to add highlights? O_o). Maybe I'll go back and add something simple, at some point.

He's colored as one of my newer Original Characters; his name is Oliver.

Yeah. I probably shouldn't be giving advice about proportion, since I'm not to good at it anyway. >.>

It's good though, I'm really in love with your coloring style. And if you decide you need a background (Though it looks just fine without one) you could always edit it

The character is cute, you should do more drawings of him. I'd love to see my own fursona colored that way. <3 I look forward to seeing more of your art!

Thanks so much for all of your kind comments; you definitely pointed me in the right direction with the tail. Comments like these are what makes me want to keep drawing. :D

I'm glad to see that someone likes my coloring style!

Wow! My first Oekaki looked like my little brother drew it on a piece of paper (meaning it was really super bad XDD)

Very nice and very detailed - This one's a keeper <3
