The deer stood, frozen in the field, stardust at her hooves. She stood in the night, the stars shining, the sky shadowed. Though the night seemed perfect, flawless, the deer was away of the impending danger, her foreshadowed fate. She knew not how, nor why, but she knew. With her gentle face to the east, she stood in silence. Her doom, her death, was approaching, and she had accepted it.
The deer felt a breath on her neck, and it chilled her to the bone. She stood, frozen, as the evil, twisted spirit approached her. She shut her eyes tight, but showed no fear, no resistance. The deer exhaled her final breath, and the dark spirit entered her. It quickly overtook her, and the kindred deer who was there a moment before was there no longer. She was broken, shattered. The deer was possessed.
