Blind he may be, but not in the traditional sence if the word. He cannot see the world around him, but what can see is invisible to everyone but him. He sees the soul of a person the colors of which are like none other and a beauty to behold. Though he also is able to see the demons roaming the world and the havoc they bring. He protects the souls and brings them to their afterlife when the time eventually comes. It's not a glamorous life or job, but someone's got to do it. In this case Kaede happens to be that person.
