Ａｂｏｕｔ ｔｈｅ ＷＯＤ

Size:
Male child - Great Dane sized
Female child - Husky sized
Male Adult - Elephant sized
Female Adult - Horse sized
Diet:
Generally smaller sea creatures or birds
floating above in the water. Occasionally
small rodents when on land.
Life Span:
Most WOD have a life span of 80 - 120 years.
Behaviour:
It is found that if a WOD finds a mate, they
stick with them for life and will not leave.
If their mate dies before them, they will not
find a new mate. If they do, this is very uncommon,
as most WOD will grieve. It is found that if a WOD finds
the creature with markings matching its, then it will find
a place in that creature's family, pod or school. Often
WOD cannot find them, such as if a WOD's marking was
that of a giraffe. Unless brought into captivity, a dragon
should not see a giraffe.
Communication:
WOD communicate to other animals through sounds and
motions, similar to any creature.
Habitat:
Anywhere there is water. Freshwater WOD have different
markings than saltwater WOD, varying in the species their
markings may be similar to. It is unknown why their
markings vary based on habitat, however it is believed that
this is because of which creatures they are closer to varying
in which habitat they are in.
Similar Species:
None have been found up to date.
The most similar animal found has been the orca whale,
due to behaviour, however they are not actually related
in any way.

The Winged Ocean Dragon is fairly large creature more commonly known to be friendly. They have become companions over past periods of time to sea-dwelling humans such as fisherman and divers. They are solitary generally, until they find a mate although they do enjoy to have companions, whether that's humans, fish, whales or other dragons. They have wings, however are incapable of flight for these wings are meant for swimming, although they can glide with their wings. They do breathe air, although they can hold their breath for up to fourteen hours. They can dive to depths unknown to humans and are capable of going on land, however not for too long, as their skin, similar to that of an orca, cannot become fully dry, or they will become sick. When on land, they walk on their back legs and the ball of their wings.

The colours of Winged Ocean Dragons are very unique because they are always based on a living creature; however, the colour of these markings often contains unnatural colourings. For example, a WOD may have an Orca's markings, however often it could be blue and green rather than black and white. Most WOD also have one or two unnatural markings, such as a swirl or spots to go along with their base colour. It is rare that a WOD will have the original colour of the animal it's markings are based off, however very much still possible.
Saltwater WOD most often share the colour of water creatures or birds, while freshwater dragons often have land or bird markings.

Horns and appendages, including wings, vary for each WOD. While one may have long horns, a horn on it's nose and feathered wings, some have bat wings, short horns and no nose horn, or perhaps a different tail, giving them each a certain uniqueness about them.

Each WOD may have a different way to adopt, depending on what the artists has chosen. This could be an auction involving CS pets, guessing a number, naming the animal it was based off of, making a form and best form wins, making art of the WOD, anything the artist likes. We like to give a fair chance to anyone to own a WOD.

A note to artists:
Make sure the species you are choosing to take the markings from has not already been used please. Also, you may only create two custom WOD for yourself, you must adopt any others you choose to have, up until you have five.

A note to guest artists:
Please only create the amount of WOD that you were allowed.
