Hello, and welcome to GLaDOS's shop of short-tailed hyena adopts and customs!
We are currently pending our breeding option and pup option. We sell short-tailed hyenas as pets and characters.
Short-tailed hyenas are low-maintinence as pets and are swift like cat but big like dogs. As characters you will need to be experienced on their averages all around. They tend to be from the size of a large house cat to the size of a medium-sized dog. They are prone to hip problems and nose problems. They are furred with dense fur due to living in chilly climates of the night. Sometimes in old and very young short-tailed hyenas, they may experience problems with their ears. This is caused by lack of fur in their ears- a strong defense against ear mites and high decibels. They have retractable claws and sharp teeth, and some males may develope "manes" in which light fur grows on the back, tail, stomach, or heels. This occurence is uncommon and usually marks a good, powerful leader in a flock. Bringing that up, flocks usually vary in numbers, from 5 to 10 short-tailed hyenas in each. Short-tailed hyenas are not acctually related to a hyena, but more so a bear- if we're talking genetics here.
