Leafbare
The trees have become bare, and the days have grown short. The air is cold and crisp, and the sky is cloudy. It won't be long 'till the snow begins to fall now and prey has become scarce as they are tucked inside a nice warm den of their own. Predators and stray cats are also less likely as well as they try to brace the season themselves.

As the tom padded into the den, he placed down two hares and a large looking fish, his face smug and began to wash his paw.
"That'll last us for a few days." He muttered to himself proudly. And just then turned his head to a sound coming from outside the den, curious, he headed out.

"Fireheart." He greeted, and to his curiosity, she had brought back another cat, a tom.

"Meet Rowan." Fireheart meowed, and the tom dipped his head slightly, his green eyes fixed on the leader.

P e b b l e C l a n

Olivestar woke up beside the Moonpool, letting out a quiet yawn as she felt the warmth of a new day shine on her fur. I must've been so tired..I slept longer than I should have. Gently, she felt something squirm beside her, and looked over to see a small, calico she-cat fast asleep. Raising a paw, Olivestar prodded the she-cat until she woke up, looking quite alarmed. "Are you from another Clan? You look very young, what are you doing out here all alone?" The tiny calico sat up, her ears flat against her head in embarrassment. "I.. don't know what a Clan is. I smelled a bunch of scents here..from other cats. I thought one of them would come find me."
Olivestar frowned, taking note of how thin and frail this poor cat seemed to be. "How many times have you seen the moon rounded and full, like a berry?" She asked, letting the she-cat think for a few moments. "Five..no, six." Just then, Olivestar stood up and began walking away from the Moonpool, beckoning for the she-cat to follow with her tail. "My name is Olivestar, I am the leader of PebbleClan. We are a group of cats that live near many streams, we hunt as a team and work together to make sure everyone survives. We even have a Medicine Cat that can heal you when you are sick. Does this sound like something you would enjoy being part of?" The tiny she-cat nodded. "I just want a family. I will work hard, and make you proud of me, I promise."
The pair made their way back to camp after a while, taking note of the emptiness of the camp. "Morning patrols must have gone out a while ago, I'm sure you'll meet your clanmates soon." Olivestar glanced towards the Nursery as Larksong padded out of it, her belly round with kits. "Oh, hello! You look so small, my goodness. Please don't worry, you are safe now. I was saved by Olivestar too, you know." As the Queen explained her story to the eager calico, Olivestar jumped up to the top of the High Den and waited for the patrols to come back into camp, letting out a cry when they returned.
"All cats old enough to swim across the streams, gather for a Clan Meeting!"
Her clanmates gathered around in excitement, eyes darting towards the tiny, nervous calico she-cat who couldn't seem to sit still. "While at the Moonpool, I asked StarClan to send me a young cat, an apprentice, so we could begin to grow new warriors. When I woke up, I was greeted by this she-cat. She has a desire to join PebbleClan, and I know she will grow into a fine warrior. With StarClan on my side, I name this apprentice Applepaw. She will be mentored by Jayfrost."
"Applepaw! Applepaw!"
The silver tom hesitantly touched noses with the calico, her tail jittery. "I won't let you down!"

Spottedpelt meowed: "I should take Featherpaw on a training session." Sandstar replyed: "Sure, just come back early, i don't want to be without a medicine cat. Also, Firestorm, Leopardstep, go on patrol. Tigerwhisker, could you go fetch some prey?"

Spottedpelt returned with Featherpaw, only to hear Sandstar's yowl. Sandstar was in the nursery and yowled in pain. "OWWWW"
Spottedpelt instructed Featherpaw on what to do and goed to help Sandstar.

(Spottedpelt takes Featherpaw out for a training session on herb recognition ; when they come back, Sandstar starts kitting ; Leopardstep and Firestorm are on border patrol. Tigerwhisker is on a hunting patrol. Also, i would like for you to keep writing written replies.)

as slatestar padded out of the rocky hollow that housed the moonpool, a trembling form by the entrance caught his eye. turning, the tom blinked down at a rather tiny molly, her nose tucked into her tail and her body chilly. "excuse me?" slatestar asked, frowning. "are you alright?" she molly's head lifted slightly, exposing intelligent amber eyes. she cocked her head slightly, whiskers angled forward. "bit chilly," she mewed softly, her ears laid back. "don't have that thick fur like you, no?" she grinned slightly, paws shifting forward as she swayed to her paws. "right, yeah." a laugh escaped slatestar's throat. "well, if you want," he continued, shrugging. "i have a clan that you could join. plenty of dens that you could warm up in." the molly considered his offer briefly, before nodding rapidly. "anything to get out of the cold. i can smell the snow already."

as the new pair trotted back to the camp, they, almost literally, ran into claystream and toadsplash, who were also approaching the camp. "oh, hello, slatestar," claystream purred, her tail swishing. the molly's fur brushed toadsplash's, her mate. "we were just coming to look for you." toadsplash's gruff voice was next. "right, then, found this here elder new the border, huh?" he turned to indicate said elder, who looked rather ornery and annoyed at being spoken about as if he weren't there. "i've got a name, y'know," he grouched, whiskers twitching. "yes, well," toadsplash retorted. "you refused to tell it to us. so i've got nothin' to call ya." the elder paused at that. "well, that's fair enough," he admitted gruffly. "i'm trout." slatestar blinked, an amused smile twitching at his mouth. "well, trout. you'll fit right in to mistclan."

slatestar leapt down from the flat stone that he made announcements on, glancing, with satisfaction, at the prideful expression on mothstep's face as she greeted her new apprentice. slatestar padded over to palesun, who was sitting off to the side in a patch of light, his tail swishing. "hello, palesun," slatestar purred, refraining, but just barely, from rubbing his face against his mate's. "mmm, hi there, slatestar," the medicine cat replied, his voice as smooth as the honey that he used to treat coughs. "say, you wouldn't want to help me look for herbs by any chance?" a wry grin twitched at the edge of his expression. "oh, yes, of course. anything my medicine cat needs from me." his ears twitched with amusement as he and palesun trotted out of camp together, their pelts brushing and purrs rumbling as soon as they were out of sight and earshot.

mothstep paused in admiring her new apprentice, turning instead to the warriors still loosely gathered around her and the flatrock. "right, then," she chirped, her tail swishing. "shrikepaw and i are going to go train. kestrelflight, redhawk, toadsplash," she rattled off the names quickly. "you're on hunting patrol. after we're finished training, shrikepaw and i will patrol the border. claystream," she turned to the molly who was preoccupied with smoothing her chest fur down. "i suppose, at this point, it's best for you to remain in camp, for now, as palesun mentioned you should be having kits soon." motherstep looked rather excited at the prospect of kits - she'd always loved the small bundles of joy, and it would be nice having some in the camp, especially during the upcoming winter. she only hoped there were no complications with claystream's kitting. "oh, yes, that's fine," claystream smiled gently, retreating to the nursery to lay down.

" i think i know who killed dovestep." heronswoop's head snapped to silverpool, who was shifting nervously at the entrance of the mostly empty warriors' den. "what? who?" heronswoop's heart ached painfully when he remembered his lively and stubborn sister. " i-i-t's just a hunch, but..." the grey she-cat lowered her voice to a whisper. " i think it's aspenclaw." heronswoop narrowed his eyes. "that's impossible! did you see how devastated he was when we found her?" silverpool flinched, but stood up taller. " think about this; what if it was just an act? what if he was just pretending to cry, but he was rejoicing at not having to deal with her insubordinate behavior?" heronswoop's mouth gaped open, eyes wide with shock. she truly believed that sweet, strong aspenstep had murdered his sister. "well, maybe it was him, but think about who else has motives." silverpool sat down,
tail flicking idly while she thought. " i can't. that's why it has to be him. there's no one else!" she insisted,
fur spiking up. heronswoop prepared a nasty retort, but thought better of it. "fine. think whatever you want, maybe even tell cloudswift or shinestar, but leave me out of this. and don't come back to me if you're wrong." his voice was a steely monotone, and silverpool felt her heart break a bit. she wordlessly turned and walked out of the warriors' den, tears threatening to fall.

" good. they're infighting." the killer thought, seated on some rocks nearby. they got up and walked over to the shocked she-cat.
"are you ok?" they mewed, concern in their tone. silverpool nodded quickly and walked faster, out of camp. "maybe i can get her...
no, it's too dangerous. still the thought excited them and their tail began to wave slowly. "silverpool, wait!" they called, and raced after the distraught molly.

tears began falling in earnest now, the faint moonlight glinting off of them as silverpool crumpled by the river's edge. " why?! why does no one trust me?!" she sobbed, ears drooping. "i trust you, don't worry." a feminine meow came from her left side. she slowly turned, only to see that no one was there. a sinking pit opened in her stomach, fear eating away at it. "you were wrong, by the way." she faintly remembered that voice, from earlier in the day. realization struck her, and she stood up.
" no... why?! why did you do this?!"" she yowled, crouching in a defensive stance. "don't scream too loud, honey." a dark silhouette appeared out of the shadows. pine flooded over her, causing more tears to spill out. the cat showed themselves, unearthly yellow eyes glinting with a savage light. "i'll just have to kill you slower." they lunged, missing silverpool.
silverpool leapt and bit down on their scruff, eliciting a pained hiss from the blood-crazed she-cat. she raked silverpool's belly with her back legs, causing silverpool to let go. she tackled silverpool to the ground, blood spurting out of a head wound. she dragged the dazed molly to the river, and smirked in triumph. " this is for lilyfur." she spat, bloodstained teeth baring before silverpool's lungs filled with water, and her vision turned to black.

solarclan's tradition:
when an apprentice becomes a warrior, they are presented with a gemstone that either correlates with their eye color, pelt color, or personality. for example, a fiery, energetic tom may receive a red jasper stone. kits are taught to anticipate the day when they receive a gemstone, and to keep it safely tucked away within their nests. the leader watches the training sessions and goes on hunting and border patrols frequently to determine what stone the new warrior shall receive. when a warrior dies, their gemstone is placed on top of their grave, to forever be a testament to them. it is said that their spirit is tethered to that gem, and if it's lost, then their spirit is lost. if an apprentice or kit dies, then the leader will choose a gem based on what might've been.
