You could see your own face, chalk-white with fear, your chest heaving with large, uneven breathes of air.

The forest seemed to want to engulf you in its terrifying jaws, the huge branches of the trees creaking as they swayed around in a menacing manner.

And yet, you could feel no wind. No natural occurrence that could have brought these trees to movement.

Hands trembling, the thought of death seemed quite welcoming now. Dying in these eerie woods, whether through thirst, starvation, or another creature did not seem quite so bad as it did moments ago.
You could feel a wave of relief crash down upon you as you let out a final, shallow breath, as you let the cold and the darkness swallow you whole, along with a sharp pecking at your skull...

Wait, pecking?

Your eyes shot open at the feeling of what seemed to be a needle, persistently stabbing you at your head, though what your gaze met was a much... let's say, different sight than what you were expecting.

I mean seriously though, who would've expected a somewhat medium-sized bird to be there, acting as if you were a pile of delicious seeds?

Your head shot up in surprise, though your sight was still clouded and blurry, you knew you had to do something - who knew, maybe this tiny gray bird could perhaps help in one way or another?

A) Ask it: "Where am I, and what is happening?"
B) Stay silent and hope the bird says something first.
C) Say to it: "Please help me, I broke my leg."
D) Punch the bird.

And I just wanted to say that this is a really neat, fun idea. I love playing the "choose your own path" games so I'm glad to see someone was able to implement one into a forum game! As a fellow writer myself, it's actually given me an idea that I want to try out with my friends, so thank you!
