indentArlowe is of average height but appears larger because of his gangly build and chitinous armour. His fur is a mix of light gray and pale red with a white underbelly, interrupted by patches of glossy plated segments that resemble a beetle's shell along most of his body. Clever amber eyes peer out from below an injured left ear and his tail is habitually in a slow, happy wag. He carries himself with a relaxed gait and an open, easy stance—though more often than not he is lounging about somewhere.

indentEasy-going and laid-back, Arlowe is not what most would expect of a guardian. He is so slow to anger that some might claim it is impossible for him. Instead, he has a nonchalant positivity to him, quick to offer quips and find humour in any situation as if it is a personal challenge. Arlowe is equally comfortable blending into the background as he is in a lively conversation.

indentThose who are judgemental would likely describe him as "lazy", for more often than not he is can be found laying or sitting about and watching others. Some would assume the gangly sloth earned his role as guardian simply because of his mutation. He would instead describe himself as "efficient"; be it in a fight or in the day-to-day, Arlow seeks out short and effective solutions that minimize sacrifice. This is, of course, to maximize the time he can spend laying or sitting about and watching others. Arlowe doesn't mind the sneers. After all, his preferred form of survival is being underestimated.

indentThose who are more perceptive will notice that his eyes glint with calculating intellect; observant and incisive, Arlowe silently catalogues the world around him. He pays particular attention to the habits and quirks of his packmates. His humour is part genuine enjoyment of the world and part preferred weapon for de-escalating conflict... or at least, redirecting it towards himself. If anyone can take it, Arlowe figures it should be the one who is naturally armoured.

indentThe way Arlowe sees it, the best way for him to maintain his laidback life is by maintaining his safety, which means maintaining his position in the pack, which means maintaining stability in the pack. Even if, paradoxically, it means taking a few hits every now and then. After all, the weight of his armour is easier to bear when others are around to pick up the slack. Arlowe is hopeful that keeping the peace won't become more trouble than it's worth but if it does... well, no need to dwell on such dour thoughts right now.

indentArlowe's mutation developed shortly after he reached maturity and has been an ill-fit for his body. Although his armour is a great boon, effective for both defense and offense, it's a heavy weight on his lighter frame. While he has always had a tendency towards idleness, it's been exacerbated by the new frequent need to rest. His self-preservation refuses to let this show to others, however. Arlowe understands that a pack works because everyone pitches in and he refuses to willingly compromise the safety of his position in it. Instead, he doggedly treats his armour with a resolute positivity and occasional quiet visits to Agathi for aches and pains that can be plausibly denied as being related.

Tiernan [—] - The wolf to please #1
Regardless of his self-preservation tendencies, Arlowe genuinely
respects and trusts Tiernan. Remaining polite and cheerful around
the old leader is usually easy and disagreements are rare. Still,
when they do occur, Arlowe thinks it safest to grin and bear it—
particularly when it's about the leader's children.

Oliver [X] - Sore spot
Arlowe doesn't blame Oliver for the accident. However, he does
blame himself for not telling him so sooner. After all this time,
the relationship has festered and the two flinch away behind
polite words whenever they meet. Though Oliver grows closer to
the rest of Arlowe's circle, the latter isn't sure about reopening
old wounds.

Rainier [✓] - Like a chestnut; prickly outside, sweet inside
The way Arlowe sees it, Rainier is a big softy who just happens
to be grumbly sometimes. Well, a lot of the time, actually, but
that's okay. Rainier is always quick with his apologies and it's
clear he has a bigger heart than he likes to let on. Arlowe truly
enjoys Rainier's company and getting to see his lighter side.

The two clicked almost instantly after becoming guardians and
their one-sided chats are a common sight for the pack. Arlowe is
comfortable with rarely doing the talking when Saskia is around—
in fact, he finds it refreshing. Being around Saskia is never dull
and Arlowe delights in her easy exuberance, seeing in her a
fellow enjoyer of life.

Elysian [✓] - Birds of a feather
Sharing friendly and jovial dispositions, Arlowe and Elysian get
along very well. Arlowe admires her talent for brightening
someone's day. Beyond similar demeanours, their connection has
its roots in a shared tragedy; Arlowe lost his father in the same
attack that took Elysian's parents. It's not a subject that is
brought up often but they share an understanding over it.

Amalie [—] - Desperately needs to unwind
They probably could be friends, except it's clear to Arlowe that
Amalie is on the brink of falling apart. Well, that and Amalie has
judged that Arlowe is "not pulling his weight" enough. Still, he is
determined to help his packmate by getting her to relax... even
if she might not appreciate it right now.

Persephone [✓] - Familiar habits
While they might not be the closest, Arlowe still considers
Persephone to be a friend. It’s fun to exchange friendly flirts as
banter whenever they encounter each other. Arlowe knows it's
part of a shift in Persephone's demeanour but he won't push.
Afterall, he understands using sociability as defence.

Sloane [—] - I'm cool if she's cool
Sloane and Arlowe are not particularly close, but still amicable.
While they might not often cross paths, Arlowe doesn't see any
reason why he shouldn't be polite to the scout. Plus, maybe a
friendly face will help her feel more welcomed in the pack.

Agathi [—] - Waiting for the other paw to drop
The healer's den has become a place Arlowe visits with some
frequency. He's deeply grateful for Agathi's help and enjoys
their brief chats, yet is still wary around her; Arlowe knows that
Agathi is more than clever enough to pick up on the true extent
of his pains. Logically, he knows he can trust her but the caution
remains.

Maverick [✓] - Gentle giant
He'd never admit it to anyone but as a pup, Arlowe was scared of
Maverick's size. He's happy he pushed past it, as he gained an
admirable friend. Arlowe wishes Maverick would see the good in
himself as he does in others; until then, Arlowe never hesitates
to reassure Maverick as much as needed. With only a bit of
occasional light-hearted teasing.

Callon [—X] - Pushing limits
Being an adolescent is a lot—Arlowe gets it. He tries to be
accommodating, yet all his attempts at interacting with Callon
tend to end with frustration. More and more, Arlowe's smiles
grow strained around Callon; he really doesn't want to admit it,
but the youngster is putting him through his paces.

• Open to romance, but I'd rather get a feel for the characters
  through playing a bit first.
• In neutral relationships, Arlowe's interactions still lean towards
  positive, so a neutral-positive marker for him would be kinda
  redundant lol.
• If anyone wants to make (or lightly retcon an existing char into)
  a sibling for him, lmk :3 Tho I'm also totes fine w/ him being an
  only child ( ^ v ^)b

• His name means "between two hills"
• Not to be confused with the citrus used in Earl Grey, Wild
  Bergamont is a medicinal Summer wildflower. I wanted him to
  have a very Summery scent lol. Hence the cypress too.
  Altogether, it can be summarized as "warm and soothing but
  overwhelming if it lingers too long"

Elysian is humorous and delightful to be around. Nearly all conversations undertaken
with her carry an undercurrent of comedy. She’s not clownish in her movements or
mannerisms however, solely with her imprecise, and oft rhetorical way of speaking.

Her speech pattern is elegant, even when she is being light, it implies a background
of nobility or at least one that was endowed with money for schooling and posh act-
ivities. But, her grounded, and down-to-earth understanding implies the exact oppo-
site, she blends well with either crowd and doesn’t stand out in one way or another,
but it is a curious aspect of her.

Elysian is far from shy, he is no stranger to embarrassment, but it’s not a feeling that
lingers for her. Confidence might even be an understatement, she’s terribly proud. H-
er confidence is a notable feature but does not often generally interfere with her da-
ily life, and it also doesn’t invoke annoyance from others - instead just a simple trait
that makes her distinct.

She is not terribly particular, but she does have favorite things. They don’t make a dent
in her everyday life but she isn’t stumped nor indecisive about these trivial and munda-
ne things, assured about her choices and herself.

Although it might not seem like it, she does form very strong bonds with those she works
around often. She’s very detail-oriented in her work and life, taking note of their quirks,
and especially their likes and dislikes. These traits and her general approachability means
he is generally well-liked.

She’s a genuine individual, a fantastic listener even to the nonverbal language, and truly
values the relationships she’s made rather than thinking of them as a stepping stone to
better herself. The bonds she forms are strong, and though she has her annoying traits
they aren’t enough to deter or destroy the relationships she’s worked hard to cultivate.

It is easy and correct to come to the conclusion that Elysian is an extrovert, she seeks out
friendly, casual interactions with effective affability and smoothness. She considers herself
friendly with many, and forms strong bonds quickly. She has always been surrounded by
many people, especially as a young pup so seeking people out has never been difficult for
her. She is tactful about it when interacting with others, which has led to her rarely being
outright rebuffed, even if she isn’t taken seriously for her excitable demeanor.

hihi :pray: hopefully i'll get the rest of the relo pms out that i have left before / as we start; i'm a little behind in doing so; but if we haven't discussed things yet, ill send something out for it!!

i've also altered oliver's age (3.7 > 3.11), and for sure decided on venomous fangs for him. i'm still debating on a mutation for saskia, but if i decide on one at any point i'll update her form!! :3

i'm also working out a fourth character (he might take a little bit) but once / whenever i have him figured out, i'll make a post about his existence :] <3

You all have inspired me to follow suit and start on my second character earlier than expected XD
(I want Arlowe to have a living parent but subjecting them to the nebulous limbo of being an NPC feels odd so. The solution is to make a PC lol. Get ready for a granny wolf, Coming Soon To A Pack Near You!)
