The Territories - The Forest

Postby clarke, » Sat Jul 08, 2017 2:17 pm

Image
───────────────────────────────────────────────

Image
These are the animals of the forest. To survive, you must choose which animal you believe has the best ability to survive the harsh temperament of the woods. You can hunt birds, deer, elk, and several types of smaller woodland creatures. But, here, you must also face forest fires, flooding, deforestation, and hunters. And, you must survive each other.
───────────────────────────────────────────────

Black or Brown Bear

Black Bears are the lesser aggressive of the bear family. They are known for eating berries, but they also eat woodland creatures. Sometimes, these bears will walk on their hind legs, or hunt in rivers. Though typically black, they can be brown or cinnamon colored. Black Bears are drawn to whatever area has the most immediate source of food, including human lands. Their claws are a vital necessity, and their teeth are not as strong as their native brothers, the brown bear. They claw and bite trees to leave certain messages to other bears. Black Bears can climb trees to avoid dangers on the ground; they are also skilled at scrounging and scavenging, as well as finding food in the most desperate of situation, though they are the weakest of the bear species in strength.

Brown bears are the largest bear, only rivaled by their cousin, the polar bear. Brown bears have long, tough fur that is not often completely brown. Their claws are longer and stronger than the Black Bear, though because of their weight, they are unable to climb trees. Though they are very powerful, having such a large body mass makes finding food desperate and strong. Because they are carnivores, and not omnivores, they find it more difficult to find food enough food, which is why, more typically, they stay put in a territory they are very protective of.

Fox or Wolf

々 The fox is one of the smartest of the forest animals; it's ability to sneak and flee enable it to scavenge successfully. Most large predators are unbothered by such a small canine, that they allow the fox to eat part of their meal. This adaptable creature changes greatly through the seasons; it's coat becoming dense, light, or even a different color if needed. The fox travels, leaving it as an outlaw, and at a greater risk of being attacked for trespassing, however, it is almost able to eat anything, from bugs, to mice, to carrion.

Wolves are natural territorial predators. They often form packs and live in numbers, but when a loner, they often don't survive long. Wolves do not face a lot of natural predatory dangers, besides that of humans, and bears. To survive, they have been known to make packs with animals unlike themselves, and travel far distances. They eat almost anything they can, but are mainly carnivores. Alone, the wolf may fall.

The Territories - The Desert

Postby clarke, » Sat Jul 08, 2017 2:19 pm

Image
───────────────────────────────────────────────

Image
The desert animals, highly adaptable, and perhaps in the most danger of all the territories. Here, you face starvation, dehydration, and even freezing at night. You will have to select the most adaptable, and the smartest animal to survive the desert. Which will you choose?
───────────────────────────────────────────────

Wild dog or Coyote

Wild dogs, also known as the Painted Wolf, are a very social animal. They live in family units, where hierarchies exist between males and females. They can get creative with which animals they create packs with, and if unable to find, create or join a family of other wild dogs, they will create close bonds with other desert animals. They are mostly scavengers, but unlike the coyote, they are skilled hunters when in number. The Wild Dog can suffer without the bonds of others, and alone, they risk dying.

Coyotes are very similar to the fox, except that they are often pack animals. They are slightly smaller than their cousin the wolf, however, their behavior and survival instincts are incredibly alike. They live in family units and stay in those groups for life; relying on their hunting partners to provide meals. Coyotes are at a high risk for starvation, because though they can grovel for insects, in the desert, if they miss even one meal, it can be the end for them. They are large enough to be considered a threat to rivals, though sometimes, they are known to create bonds with animals larger than them.

Mountain Lion or Cheetah

々 The Mountain lion, or cougar, is the second heaviest cat aside from the jaguar. It's solitary and nocturnal instincts are a notable feature of the feline. It mostly preys large animals like deer, antelope, or farm animals, but can also prey on animals as small as the mouse. However, because of it's solitary nature, it can submit to large packs of wolves, the jaguar, or bears. Cougars are rarely seen in the daytime, and are at risk of being preyed on as they live alone.

々 The Cheetah, the lands fastest creature. It's speed may be its undoing, because if a Cheetah burns more calories than it eats, it will starve. Like the mountain lion, they are solitary and do not stay with their family. Occasionally, they stay with siblings, though that is a rare sighting. Most cheetah's a deadly hunters and can take down larger animals, such as antelopes, gazelles, or deer.

The Territories - The Jungle

Postby clarke, » Sat Jul 08, 2017 2:41 pm

Image
───────────────────────────────────────────────

Image
The jungle, by far the greatest diversity of animals. There is danger is every foot of the jungle, in the trees and on the ground. The jungle has the greatest amount of venomous insects, and it is dangerous to even the toughest of animals. Can you survive?
───────────────────────────────────────────────

Tiger or Jaguar

Tigers are the true kings of the jungle. Their sheer strength and large incisors and claws are deadly. They have have no rival, and spend most time alone. However, tigers are in danger. Their beautiful coats and ivory claws make them a target for trophy hunters around the world.

Jaguars, a close second for the most powerful of cats. Their hunting skill rivals no other, and unlike tigers, they are able to climb up tall trees and often spend most of their time in trees, including sleeping safely off the jungle floor. They are also a target for hunters, and sometimes a target of overly territorial tigers.

Ocelot or Leopard

Ocelots are similar to the leopard's looks, though are even smaller than a coyote. Their small frames make them agile and allow them to climb, and hunt high flying birds. They grovel in the ground for insects, creating great risk to being poisoned or wounded by venomous predators, such as large snakes.

Leopards are similar to jaguars, however, the most noticeable differences are that jaguar's have spots within the rosettes on their fur, and is stockier than a leopard. They both climb trees, and are similar in hunting instincts and prefer to do things solitary. Leopards have longer and stronger teeth, and travel further than jaguar's do. The leopard is also a target for hunters.

The Territories - The Tundra

Postby clarke, » Wed Jul 12, 2017 12:48 pm

Image
───────────────────────────────────────────────

Image
The tundra, completely covered in ice every day of the year. If you mis-step, you plummet into the unforgiving frozen ocean, where creatures more fierce and more deadly than any land animal hunt. It's desolate space is open and wide, and you don't come across others very often. But can you find enough food and outlast the weather?
───────────────────────────────────────────────

Polar Bear or Arctic Fox

Polar bears are the most recognized animal of the tundra. They are fiercely protective of their kin and territory and have the best hunting instincts known to land mammals. They are rivaled by none except orcas beneath the ice, and dominate the arctic. Mostly preying on only fish and seal, leaves the polar bear at risk of starvation.

Arctic foxes are largely different from normal foxes. Their fur is thicker and their survival instincts are better. They are so small, the size of a domesticated house cat, that they do need to eat much, and are able to feel warm even at the most extreme temperatures, similar to that of polar bears. These foxes often follow polar bears to scavenge off their kills, otherwise, they hunt very rarely.

Pick Your Own

々 Because of the shortage of "popular" tundra animals, you have full permission to choose your own animal.
Please take note that "prey" animals such as elk, deer, caribou or moose are fully able to be played but cannot be hunted by other players, unless both sides agree.
