faeri, i noticed that vipertail is put as privetpaw's mentor but he's an elder :/ perhaps milkwhisker could mentor privetpaw instead?

history; cherrypaw was a rather quirky kit, but after her birthparents were ill, they left her to the care of a rouge named stripe. stripe raised cherrykit well, but cherrykit couldnt get the thought of her parents out of her head. as soon as she was able, she left stripe in search of her parents, not knowing that they were dead. cherrykit, still owning the name even at the age of 7 moons, eventually realized that they were never to be found again. wising up, she decided to stop searching and quickly find a clan- she was emaciated and ridden with parasites. the experience left her a bit shaken.

Mosspaw wasn't born in the camp. When she was a small kit, still unable to talk, she stumbled in shivering and wet during a rainstorm. The clan was kind enough to take her in and care for her, bringing her back from near death and raising her as their own. Despite never having been treated like an outsider, Mosspaw had always felt an acute separation between herself and the others in the clan. She never talked much and got in trouble frequently for sneaking out of camp. Alone in the woods she felt a sense of peace: like she had nobody's expectations to fulfill or let down, like she didn't have to pretend to be someone else, and like the woods brought meaning and life to the world... but it would never take long for the sense of peace to turn into one of loneliness.

The loneliness grew and Mosspaw didn't want to show any weakness, so she hid her pain, isolating herself further from the other cats her age. Stuck in a prison of solitude that she unwittingly built for herself, Mosspaw decided to turn towards self improvement as a distraction. Maybe if she became better, others would see her worth bridging the gap. Her shyness was pushed to the back burner as she began asking questions of everyone: hoping to gain some knowledge and experience vicariously. If she became the top warrior in the camp... then that would mean she must belong.
Seeing her apprenticeship as an opportunity to improve herself and possibly reconnect with the cats she's been pushing away all of her life, Mosspaw looked forward to being assigned a mentor.

Now was her chance to prove to everyone and herself that she belonged in the clan... except that the clan is fragmenting... and Mosspaw is terrified she'll fall through the cracks. Forgotten.
