our only problems come from the occasional predator and the occasional problem
with the weather. But things have changed recently, strange howls, scents, and
tracks have started appearing only days ago. While it may be a coincidence, a human
ship crashed on the reef not long ago. One of our guards checked out the wreckage,
but there were no human survivors. But there were empty cages." The alpha spoke,
"We do not know what's happened, or what has invaded our home, but we will protect it!"

"Three months ago we were stollen from our lives, some of us taken from the streets,
some from our humans. We were taken and put in small cages that nearly had enough
room to move around in. Three days ago, our kidnapper's ship crashed onto a hidden
reef and we all managed to get free. Now I call you here to give you a warning." The
dog barked loudly. " We must unite. As some of you know, evidence of wolves has been
found. Until we find a better place to live or humans come to rescue us, we must live
and work together to survive."

𝚃𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚢
The Island that the packs live on is called The Hidden Isle by the natives there. The area wolves and dogs populate is lush with greens in the summer, both live in the forest. The wolves call the Petavista Woodland their home, it’s filled with large oaks, scraping sycamores, thin birch trees, a few fir trees, and thick with foliage. The dogs will call a place now known as the Deserted Grove as home, a land once home to a pack of wolves that has disbanded generations ago. The Deserted Grove is full of different kinds of evergreen trees, and some minor foliage. The forests are split by the Bursting Brook named due to the fact that its often floods. Far upstream there's a waterfall by the name of Crescent Falls and a cave behind it that the Seaside pack lives in. Said cave is called the Crescent Cave. The dogs live in a small and open but easily protected area that's known as the Lonely meadow. The main hunting area for both packs is a wide and open area called the Maned Crow Field. The rocky beach where the shipwrecked occasionally hosts seals and the nearby cliffs are often used as nesting places for sea fairing birds. The Beach itself is called The Chasea shore while the nearby cliffs are called Sea Gulls End for many reasons.

𝚆𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛
The weather here is quite temperamental and prone to change in a heartbeat. Rainy, cloudy, sunny, and cloudy weather are all quite normal, and can appear on the flip of a dime. The river can flood as many as three times a year lasting weeks at a time before the water recedes but usually only happen once a year. Powerful wind storms happen on occasion, uprooting a few trees every so often. Thunderstorms are rare but may cause a forest fire during a particularly hot and dry summer. Snowstorms and blizzards are common farther inland, during the winter, but are quite rare for those by the sea. For reasons unknown, the island is protected from a few forms of natural disasters one would expect. Tsunami, Tornadoes, and Hurricanes just don’t happen here, but earthquakes, mudslides, floods, droughts, and wildfires do, some being more common depending on where one is on the island.

𝙾𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝙿𝚊𝚌𝚔𝚜
These packs will not be showing up in rp, but maybe mentioned in backgrounds and in rp.
The Foggy Moss Pack also lives along the seaside, but they live further south, trapped between the sea and the Silver Rise Mountains. These wolves are a bit odd and are often seen with moss or algae growing on their fur, similar to a sloth. The Foggy Moss Pack tend to be quite slender and swift on their feet. Oddly enough those that leave this pack and join another are usually some of the best hunters and assassins. The Seaside Pack has become Allies with the Foggy Moss Pack. Their territory is a three and a half-day run, at full speed with only short breaks to rest.
The Sharp Cliff Pack lives in the hills of the Cursed Mountain range and is a quite aggressive pack. They have large and bulky builds and often produce the best warriors and guards on the island. They don’t allow any outsiders in their territory but will allow young wolves from other packs to train with them for a few short months before they are chased out. The Sharp Cliff Pack has no formal allies, but will begrudgingly assist other packs for a favor or trade. Their territory is a week and a half run at full speed with only short breaks to rest.

This pack is highly structured and built on the concept of Honor, Bravery, and Respect. Life isn’t perfect in the Seaside Pack, but it’s never lonely and comfort is easy to find in bad times. Ranks are very structured, and some ranks can lead to different paths in life. We all start out the same, as pups. The first deviation in life comes when we’re six months old, and life unravels from there. Acceptable breeds: Gray Wolf, Arctic wolf, Red wolf, Tundra Wolf, Other Non-extinct Wolf Subspecies. Nonacceptable breeds: True Wolfdog, Extinct wolf subspecies.

This pack is very new, not even a full day old and there are growing pains. Fights and arguments about ranks are common here, but these dogs have banded together for survival. But hopefully, things will calm down soon. With different backgrounds, many will clash but they will also make new friendships they wouldn’t have before. Unacceptable Breeds: True Wolfdogs. Birds of Prey - Common - These guys range from owls to hawks, eagles, and falcons, They tend to go after pups and smaller dogs. It takes at least one wolf or dog of a decent size to take these guys down, but two is preferred.
Coyotes/Foxes - Common - They aren't often problems for the Seaside pack, at least not on their own. Occasionally these guys will steal bits of kills or got after our pups and young trainees. At least two dogs or wolves are preferred for the chase and or takedown of these animals.
Bears - Uncommon - These beasts are normally seen during the late spring and leave around early autumn, to head back up to their winter dens. They are a danger to wolves and dogs of all sizes, and it's recommended to bring three or more to this battle of wills.
Pythons - Uncommon - While anywhere else it'd be odd to see a python out in the wild, this island is truly a strange place. Depending on the size of the python these snakes, can and will eat just about anything they can get their jaws on. Smaller Pythons can be taken down by as few as two wolves, but bigger ones need at least three or four at the best.
Jaguars - Rare - These creatures are expert hunters, and are generally unafraid of taking on the wolves, to get an easy meal. The standard procedure for a jaguar is to leave it alone, but should it make a nuisance of itself, then the Samurai and a few assassins will be called to deal with it.

Fish - Very Common - Fish can be found in the river year-round, and vary in size and species depending on the season. Fishing is often the first thing a young hunter is taught. A single dog or wolf should be able to catch a fish quite easily.
Hares- Very Common - Snowshoe hares can also be found year-round if you know where to look. While these buggers won't sustain a pack or even a single wolf long-term, it's good hunting practice and a good source of meat.
Mule Deer - Common - One of the easier-to-catch animals of the bigger prey items. Mule Deer herds aren't that hard to find, during the late spring up until autumn. These guys usually take at least two to three canines to take them down, bucks require four or more.
White-tailed Deer - Common - Not the easiest to catch, but defiantly not the hardest. White-tailed deer are normally found here around early summer up until late autumn or early winter. It takes three to four canines to take down one.
Rodents & Birds - Uncommon - These guys are purely uncommonly seen as prey due to the fact that they don't provide a lot of meat but in harsh winters, things get despite. These guys only require a single canine to kill them.
Boar - Uncommon - Boar are aggressive by nature, and they tend to stay around year long. Hunters are at a high risk of getting hurt hunting these beasts. Three to four canines are recommended when hunting boar.
Elk - Rare - These guys show up around late autumn or early winter, and leave either in late winter or early spring. Elk are one of the bigger hunts one can partake in, and it's recommended to take at least five or more canines on that hunt.
Moose - Very Rare - It's rare to hunt these behemoths, truly once in a blue moon, despite being around for nearly the entire year. They are aggressive and tend to do a lot of damage. A group of hunters and assassins usually take on Moose. Parties of at least sixare recommended.

indentation The past few days since the Shipwreck and report of empty cages and been stressful for Helle, to say the least. It had made the lupine quite tense and snippy, though she'd always made sure to quietly apologize once she was in a calmer and less stressed state. Which honestly wasn't very often these last three days. She'd had patrol after patrol along the seaside, to the shipwreck, and along the brook to search for any sign of these strange wolf-like but not quite a wolf creatures. Shaking her head the female, looked down as the water from the waterfall fell onto the sharp rocks below, creating a light mist that blocked the sight of the entrance to the Seaside pack's camp. It was loud, the sound ringing in her ears, but it was strangely dulled inside the cave. Helle came here often to think, or to not think at all, considering the thought-blocking sound that came from the falls.

indentation Once upon a time, Amarok quite liked walking along the brook, the peaceful sound of the rushing water, the sound quieter than the harsh falls or the all-encompassing sea that the brook led to. These days it grated on his nerves though, due to the fact that he was here so often. Since the not-quite-wolf scent had been found, he'd spent more time on his paws than he had in his nest back in camp. Not that he minded that Amarok considered himself quite active and adventurous at times, just these days he was longing for sleep. Not that he begrudged the higher ranks their worry. Shaking his head, Amarok paused to watch a small fish swim by heading towards the sea. Lips twitching upwards the young male followed after the silvery fish, heading towards the rocky beach.

Wolves are just one danger, and others species could be more opportunistic." Ani barked, raising a whiskered brow. Curling her brindled tail around herself, the lass hummed softly as she watched others digest that, and smothered the snicker that had fought its way up her throat at Mareks pout.

Though he froze as Aonani opened her maw to speak, her voice ringing through his body. Crap! He thought as his gaze slowly flickered to the pale silvery canine before frowning at her. While he'd admit - though never out loud - that she had a good point, he'd wanted a little bit of time to get to know the island by himself. Pouting, the wolf-like dog slowly plodded back to his spot and sat down.

indentationhaving woke up before most of the other pack other than helle, he had started off for the maned crow field earlier than he normally would. he had been padding around the area for a little while, sniffing around through the new scent from the not quite wolf creatures. he had wanted to let helle know before he left but didn't want to add more stress onto her knowing she had taken a toll from the shipwreck added onto the normal duties she had as alpha.. he padded along as he lost track of time wandering through their hunting territories....

indentationoberons head tilted slightly as aonani proposed the rule. although i don't like the idea of not being able to leave camp on my own she does have a point.. he though for a moment before speaking up "how about we let dogs above a certain weight go out alone but the smaller dogs, no matter rank, aren't allowed to leave by themselves? because while i understand your concern, some dogs can surely hold their own?" he raised this question before sitting down his brows furrowed slightly in contemplation.
