The year is 2084, the world has been taken over by a deadly virus. Taking out over half the population, leaving the remaining few to experience changes within their DNA. The changes have not only affected their outward appearance, but their inner functions as well. About 2 years ago was the first hit of the outbreak, the government and health organizations did their best to euthanize the virus. A quarter of the population was wiped out in this time, but it had seemed to have ended. However not a year later the virus struck again only to be stronger and more evolved. This time the virus wiped out have of the remaining population, leaving a devastating blow. Panic rose among the survivors, killing sprees occurred, In attempts to kill all and any who might have the virus. Finally an online broadcast occurred not by the government, but an anonymous sender. "We as a race are dying off, we'll go extinct before we know it. It's time to break from this and separate, not only to prevent the spread of this virus, but to save the remaining numbers of this race." After the broadcast there were two sides those who continued to kill weather it be of fear or joy, and those who ran. Those who ran hid out surviving off the land in any way they could. As time past isolated from others changes became more noticeable, some growing strange mutations.
A small lab researching for a cure to the virus had found two examples of these mutations. One of the survivors had grown patches of scales on their body and what looked like a lizard tale. While the other was able to heal their own wounds at an incredibly fast pace. Those who experienced these mutations seemed to be immune to thee virus, while the virus continued to evolve instead of killing the victims now they were changing them. Those who remained normal where scared of these mutations and would often try to kill them upon sight. The world was now in a disarray and now it was left as survival of the fittest. Although small towns have been created sanitization was a need if you were to live in any of these groups and a big rule was mutations weren't allowed, as they were seen to be dangerous.
8 months have passed since the biggest hit from the virus, wiping out half of the population. The virus has hit a few times since then however, the hits where quite small compared to the first ones. Most may believe living on their own in the best option however the virus has began hitting survivors a different way. As if turning them almost rabid, this poses a threat to all other survivors even those with the mutations. Those who've went rabid seem to have no sense of a thought process. The question now is, will the last who remain survivor of accept their fate?
