Eventually, Isla grew a little weary of just watching the students outside. She was very much looking forward to seeing them all properly at the assembly. Thinking of it... she checked the time, noting there were about 30 minutes left until said assembly. She had her speech prepared, just on her desk, all written out. She liked to be well-prepared - it made things much easier. Not much threw her for a loop, and she often had plenty of backup plans and ideas to make sure things would go her way.
Isla moved away from the window again, and went to sit down at her desk. She read over her speech again, with a slight smile. She was very much looking forward to this.

They hadn't got far with reading when they felt the slime girl start seemingly cuddling up to them. Artemis froze, staring down at the slime girl in shock, and wasn't really sure what to do, and not even really sure what was happening. Given the girl hadn't said anything yet, aside from the odd gurgling sounds if that counted as 'talking', Artemis had to assume that she was mute. Or was at least unable to communicate in English. At least she wasn't chatty, they thought, but were still a little uncomfortable with the situation. "Ah- I'm sorry, would you mind giving me a little bit of space? I'm not used to... this." They asked, a little awkwardly. They didn't want to upset the slime girl, since they didn't know the full extent of her abilities, but wouldn't disregard the possibility of something deadly. After all, they were well aware of what some of the other students here were capable of.

"Of course! Why wouldn't I?" Kalea replied, and continued towards the dorm building. It wasn't too far off, though was around the side of the main building and not the easiest to find unless you knew what you were looking for.
"So. Here it is! Do you remember your dorm number? Have you stayed in a dorm before? Are you looking forward to staying here? I bet you'll have a roommate, most students here do - unless you're a special case like this one student, he's a plant monster and lives in the greenhouse attached to the dorm building - even so, there's lots of places inside to socialise and hang out with other students!" Kalea announced, standing outside of the dorm building, and then going on to ramble for a little bit. When she had realised her slight tangent, she stopped, and looked at Achara, to wait for the answers to her questions.

Rhett's hope of being left alone was quickly dashed when a man, who he assumed was a teacher, approached him to talk. He internally groaned, and stared with a bit of an unimpressed look towards the teacher, noting how... odd he looked. He seemed quite human, but there was just something off about the teacher. Rhett wasn't entirely sure if the names pulled seemingly out of thin air were random, or were certain 'types' of people that were being referred to. Regardless, Rhett gave a quiet scoff. "My name's Rhett Kendrick, so... you're way off with your guesses." he replied. Perhaps he could have been a little more polite towards a teacher, but that wasn't really something he cared to put as a priority right now. Ugh, maybe he should have waited a little longer before getting here.
As he sat there, he noted another student entering the main hall, and had looked up at him. Rhett glowered back, but something struck him as incredibly odd. The student seemed to have... light blue skin? No, perhaps that was just the lighting... right?

Ashton let out a short gasp, acting as though he was offended - of course, he wasn't really offended, it was just for the dramatics of it. "Of course. It's part of my signature look. How else will anyone be able to tell it's me? Apart from my stunningly handsome appearance." he looked as though he was about to start preening. Ashton moved to sit down on the bench, next to Ember, before answering her question. "It was good. Got to see family, haunted a little bit around the human world - my goodness, they are easy to scare. Pretty sure I've created at least two new urban legends in a couple of towns now." he answered, sounding quite pleased about it. It had been quite eventful.
"How about yourself? How was your break?" he asked, to return the question, and because he figured he might have spoken about himself a little too much just now. Not that he'd struggle to keep going, but since attending Montrose Academy, Ashton had found himself becoming more interested in what other people had to say rather than just his own voice.

She shook her head, thinking of people at public schools she'd been to. She quickly followed the (phantom) girl, and stared at the dorm. "Is it a mixed dorm?" she asked, then "I mean...do boys and girls stay together in one dorm? I have, in middle school, I went to a private school. I went to public school in elementary and high school, though. I do have siblings, though. We used to all go camping and stay in cabins and stuff. Some cabins were just one big room. I did stay in a dorm at that private school for two or three years, though. "Oh! Dorm nine, room nine?" she questioned. She then blinked and said "W-wait, wait, wait, did you say plant minster?"

XXX Heshen caught an arm waving in his direction, but he was too dense to notice it was for him, or maybe the student's helmet acted as a barrier from focusing where the eyes are locked on. "Hmm?" He begins to form questions in his head. Heshen took a quick glance at the student before moving his gaze to the ground. He pretends to look somewhere else while waiting for any response shouting back at the student or any figure moving away from him, then looks back at the student. Heshen stands still as the student begins to approach him and switch his feet as a way to cope with his awkwardness. With every glance, the figure grew double the size until the tall figure revealed its height when he stopped in front of him.

Heshen's reflection looks back at him and where he stood. "Oh, hello. Sorry, I didn't notice you at first." He tries to start a conversation to ease the pressure. Heshen didn't question too much about how this student dressed, or rather he thought it was cool to show off every student's own creativity. "My name is Heshen. I'm still thinking about where to begin, but maybe I'll just go with the flow for now."

Her excitement turned to bewilderment as he was talking. Well, she wasn't expecting all that. She tilted her head as she gave it a thought. "It's not like I ever met a human. I've heard about monster hunters and poachers and what you just said about your people- so I can't say that I'd really want to meet one..." She'd heard so many awful things about humans from her parents. They had known a few fauns, nymphs and other fae that had some sort of experience with humans. They usually told her the bad experiences, which she began to recall as she was thinking. "Oh man... I can't say I have a burning hate but... They do some really messed up stuff! So- don't really care for them." She said with a huff, crossing her arms.
One of her hooves clacked on the flooring to let out some of the agitation. Her posture relaxed back into curiosity and she asked, "...you're from a different planet? Like honestly? How did you--WAIT, DO YOU HAVE A SPACESHIP?!" Suddenly overtaken by excitement, she leapt forward, forgetting about personal space for a moment.

"Well it was a pleasure talking to you Mr Kendrick, but I'm gonna go see who that other student is. Don't be too disappointed now!" He laughs to himself, knowing that Rhett clearly didn't want to talk. After this, he walks over to Nereus. "Well Hell-o there! What's your name?"

"So you don't exactly like those humans eh? Well ain't that something!" He laughs at this. "Something that I can use... I just gotta play my cards right" He says to himself. As Maeve leapt forward, he resists his internal urges to transform, instead opting to laugh things off. "No no, we don't have a spaceship of any kind. You see, on days where a solar eclipse happens, us plant people can travel to the human world via a bolt of green lightning! It's quite an exhilarating process I will say, and those humans are always too busy gawping at the eclipse to notice!" He pauses, and then continues. "If they weren't so dull minded, they would be poaching us right as we arrive... but luckily for us, those fools never know what's coming for them! Say... Once we have spare time, do you wanna maybe, see to removing a hunter or two from the world? I'm certain we could work something out... something that would benefit the both of us, yes..." He laughs even more to himself, making certain to not seem TOO evil.

Celeste settles down on the ground underneath one of the trees that dot the grounds, setting the sketchbook and pencil next to her as she gets comfortable against the tree trunk. A small smile graces her face as she looks around at the flowers close by, enjoying the peace before ultimately having to join everyone else in the main hall. Her green eyes scan the area, noticing some people who appear new in the distant before opening her book to continue her sketch of a rose she started on her way to the academy.

Ember smiles more at what he said and replies in a cheerful voice, "Pretty easily actually since you are one of the few who wear a cloak but that lantern does add a nice touch to it." A small frown crosses her face as the wind yet again messed up the feather in her pixie cut resulting in her having to once again fix them before moving over a little for Ashton when he went to sit. She sighs softly as another smile comes across her face as she answers, "My break was boring. Parents and elders practically trying to keep me in the flock despite the fact I like to explore and they are dead set on trying to remain hidden from other supernaturals. Even tried to convince me to not return to the academy this year."

Arreak continues to remain under a tree near the entrance of the academy, not interested in entering the building any time soon. He secretly hopes that some of the classes would be outside due to his dislike of being inside for a period of time, barely happy with the fact he has to be in the dorm every night. A resemblance of a smile appears on his face which looks a little strange due to his beak as he continues to gaze at the sky with his golden eyes, tempted to spread his wings and take to the air.

Tapping his foot with impatience, Nereus gazes around the hall, noticing that its just him, a teacher, and the other person that looks oddly like a human. The patches of scales on her neck and arm reflect the lights from the ceiling as he shifts in his seat, noticing the teacher approach him and ask a question. Nereus turns his slightly frustrated teal eyes at the teacher and contemplates not answering the teacher but doesn't want to get on his bad side by flat out ignoring him. "Nereus, mister," he replies to the teacher, wishing that he actually entered the lake earlier even if it meant that he could have been late to the assembly

Glancing at the stuff around one of the beds, she sets her stuff next to the empty bed before turning to look back at her roommate who had introduced herself as Kali. Mahina gives her a warm smile and nods in agreement as she replies, "I am Mahina Kameāloha, nice to meet you too. I wouldn't dare touch any of your stuff without your permission." She didn't ask about the medical conditions since it was none of her business and it would be rude to pry in the personal matters of her new roommate, not wanting to mess up her chance of having a friend at the somewhat strange academy.

The sweet and gentle but stubborn and hard headed one hummed. Kurai glanced around, quickly making their way onto the grounds. They were pretty, with full lips and nice nails. Their golden brown skin was lit on by the sun, and they looked up a moment. A smile touched their lips. Caramel brown, medium brown, eyes then glanced about. Kurai focused on looking at their surroundings. They weren't a new student here, not at all, but thought to look around. Kurai combed at the part of their hair, then the black straight hair itself. It went just past the shoulders, and sometimes seemed to trouble them. They patted down their dark red and orangish the dye shirt. They then began to walk once more.

The urge to transform was strong...but then the bag might fall on the ground. Kurai shook their head, then glanced around. Kana and Kimi had helped pack the bag. Kurai's triplets (Kurai is the middle one) were great at picking clothes and packing things. Thinking of the she foxes made Kurai smile. Kana was white and black as a fox, while Kimi was black with little white. In fact, Kura and Kero were also black with white. Kura and Kana looked alike, with the minimal white. Kero had lots of white. Shiro was white, as was oldest sister Shira, and then there was Shiba, white and black Shiba. The black haired head shook once more. Kurai needed to focus on getting to the dorm, and finding the right room.

"Fortunately, not many people here are jerks." Kalea commented. Sure, there were a handful of them, but that was the same for everywhere else. Perhaps it was more of a human thing. She wouldn't be surprised.
Then, Kalea shrugged. "I... am not sure. Sometimes? It depends on assignments. But everyone shares with just one person, though there's some communal rooms for everyone to hangout together in as well!" she raised an eyebrow, a little confused about the mentions of public and private schools. It sounded confusing. She guessed it was another human thing. "Is it really camping if you're not staying in a tent?" she asked, finding herself curious about that.
Inside the dorm building, Kalea gestured some way down the corridor. "Dorm 9 is just down here. I'm in Dorm 2!" and then she nodded, very casually, as if a plant monster was entirely normal. "Yep! He's pretty funny, I'd stay away from his mouth though."

The teacher had gone to talk to that other student that had entered. Rhett had hoped that the lighting or his eyesight would adjust enough to make that student... not light blue. This was getting too weird. But he was slowly beginning to realise what might be happening. Was he the only actual human here..? Was everyone some weird supernatural creature? Did anyone know that his parents were prolific supernatural hunters? He didn't have any of his weapons on him - most he wasn't allowed to bring to the academy with him anyway.
But, then again, maybe he was wrong. Maybe Rhett was just being paranoid. Time would tell...

That made him laugh a little. "Well, that's very true. And if anyone else starts, then clearly I'm a trendsetter. Thank you though~"
He raised an eyebrow as Ember spoke about her break. "Woww. I know my family weren't keen on the idea of me even starting to attend the academy a few years ago, but they eventually came around. Hopefully yours will, eventually. Wouldn't be the same here without you!" Ashton replied. He looked back at the rest of the front grounds, watching the other students that were around for a few moments. "Looks like there's an interesting set of new students this year as well... I'm looking forward to meeting them..." he commented, raising a hand just to carefully adjust the moss crown in his hair.

She was a little disappointed at Audrey III having no spaceship, but the idea of lightning teleportation still struck her with awe. Hearing the rest of what he had to say she raised an eyebrow. Something was a little odd about what he said, but she couldn't put a finger on it. Maybe it was the phrasing-?
Before that thought could dwindle, she realized what he was insinuating. "Well.. I mean if we come across some stray monster hunter, then..." She hummed while she thought about the possibility of a hunter being near the academy. This place was known to be well hidden from the humans, so she doubted that any would even get close to it. "Uhm, we shouldn't have to worry about that though, right? Doesn't the academy have defenses from them?" She gave him a cheeky smile. "Not that I wouldn't be able to take on a hunter. So, like, maybe if-" she waved a hand around vaguely, "something were to happen and a hunter got close or anything like that, then I'd be down to teach 'em a thing or two." She gave the air next to her two swift kicks at an imaginary enemy and laughed. "I doubt it would come to that though, just sayin'," she shrugged.
Maeve got an idea as she glanced at her wrist. "Oh, do you want a friendship bracelet by the way? Since we're hunter-hunter buddies now?" She offered her arm to display the many bracelets to choose from.

The blonde nodded to the other girl, glad to hear that. She hummed quietly a bit, then shook her head a couple times. She then stopped herself, and began to contemplate. She was at a school clearly not for humans, and most...creatures here weren't jerks; good to know. Kalea seemed like one of the nice ones, helpful. She really liked Kalea already. She quickly tuned back in, and nodded again. "Communal rooms? Sounds like fun," she said to the other high school girl.

She shrugged a bit as she looked at the other girl. "Technically it is, since it's in a cabin out in the woods and not like an RV. Do you...know what an RV is?" she asked. She'd seemed confused by the public and private school thing, after all. She smiled when Kalea gestured to where the dorm was. She nodded and said "Nice to know," and smiled some more. "Plant monster, stay away from the mouth...got it. What...what kind of creature are you, if I'm allowed to ask?" she asked, assuming Kalea was one as well.

The black haired young one hummed a bit. They headed quickly for the dorms, finding their room and unpacking their stuff. They set up where they needed, and claimed their bed. They then changed to the beautiful fox form, after leaving the room. They wagged their white tipped tails. They tipped as they ran, soon coming upon a slime girl and someone else. They yipped at them both, intrigued by the slime girl but also Artemis. They sniffed around their feet then stopped, sitting and just watching.
