Blyth - he - Black Sky Medic - Black Sky Camp

Stood over his desk, wiping sleep from his fatigue-darkened eyes, Blyth checked over his array of medical supplies once again. With the Red Pine clan back, and tensions with them higher even than when they'd left, he had to be sure. He had to be ready.

His eyelids threatened to fall, and he pushed himself up from the sturdy wooden surface of the table to stretch, clasping his hands and pushing them out in front of him with a subdued yawn. He wandered over to the thin, panelled window on the far wall of the medical cabin and slumped against it's sill, allowing his eyes a brief rest they hadn't had since he woke, before sunrise that morning. Waking too early and sleeping too late; that'd become his routine since the rival pack had returned, a routine his body hadn't taken well to, but a necessary one, to make absolute certain whatever happened to his packmates, he could fix.

Looking back toward the desk, anxiety clearly sewn in his mind, he took one final quick glance over the supplies, and resolved to take a break, go out and breathe some fresh air. The door swung gently open as he pushed it, and his lips curled into a surprised smile as a gust of crisp, cool air hit him. The collar of his long grey pea coat fit snug against his neck, protecting him from the light chill as he leant his head back against the smooth wood of the doorframe behind him, glancing vaguely about the camp.

She woke up in puzzlement, as she sat, she looked at her blanket for a moment, as if trying to figure out if she was awake or not. The warm sunlight shined to the side of her closed window, where she realized that the sun was already far up, she looked to her clock near her bed 'ten...what? How did I...oh?' she thought to herself before noticing a piece of paper next to the clock. She took the paper to read it 'Sorry Ana, but you've not slept lately and I thought you need some rest, so I kind of turned off the alarm clock...sorry again, your brother Blake <3'. She looked at the paper for a while, not really knowing what to think '...I am a general now, I can't sleep all days long...stupid brother' she thought to herself and throw paper in the trash. Standing up she walked to the window and looked outside it. she could not then smile, she didn't like the way how her brother did things, but he was right the long night's sleep did feel good on her.
She prepared herself and walked down there where the other pack members seemed to be already. She looked to find the patroller captain, he could need to do some patrolling if not done already as for the hunters...well she could not talk with the hunter captain as they were still sick so maybe she could find someone else to lead the patrol today.

He was up early, not like he wanted to be, but he had a mission, which could need early waking. He got up at six in the morning, only to go to his adoptive sister's room to take off her alarm. He was noticed that the general was being rather tired recently and wanted her to have one good well slept night, knowing how stubborn she could be so he decided to do this, which will likely make her be angry at him. He did get back to sleep but didn't get much more sleep anymore, but instead stood up to make some coffee. He was not exactly a coffee drinker, but like to drink a cup or two in the mornings.

      ────────────────────────────────────────────────

xxxxxxxxxxxxxuriel had already been up since five in the morning, her insurmountable amount of energy and mess of a circadian rhythm waking her up at truly inconvenient times. the sun hadn’t even risen when her eyes opened involuntarily, but despite the dark circles under her eyes, she felt as though she could run a marathon right then and there. instead, of course, uriel opted to go on a herb run to exert herself a little before the day had even began properly, and with red pine back, uriel thought it was best to gather the usual herbs she and blyth used for natural remedies while she was able to.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxdespite her nimble feet and reliable nose, it took uriel longer than usual to find what she needed, but she hadn’t let that bother her. it was likely because she had already gone out on a proper and authorised herb run just a few days ago, while this one was mainly to keep her busy as she waited for everyone else to wake up. though she made an effort to replant as much as she took, only time could tell when the herbs would regrow, which could take longer than necessary. she assured herself that it would be fine, and that the herbs weren’t their only source of medical treatment, they had other materials and equipment. uriel just couldn’t help but worry, because god knows when red pine would get bolder and start taking over the black sky territory.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxshe heaved a sigh as she continued to prune her favourite patch of coneflowers that she regularly monitored, cutting off the stems of four of the larger and more mature of the flowers and storing them neatly in her trusty satchel. the patch had become much larger, the seeds she had planted last year had started to finally bloom, and uriel momentarily felt like a proud mother. she had gathered the rest of the older flowers before they could start to fade, and left the younger ones continue their growth as she finally started to head back to the camp. a small yawn escaped her, eyes turning towards the sky’s vivid blue. the sun had finally risen, and her pack members would surely be bustling around already. she wasn’t particularly in the mood to socialise right now, but she couldn’t really avoid everyone either. well, she could, but she wasn’t that mean. and what if someone needed her help? she always enjoyed being a busybody.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxthankfully, no one seemed to urgently need her that morning, so she managed to get to the medical cabin without many obtrusions or interruptions, merely wishing those who spotted her a good morning and continuing on her way. blyth was already there, standing outside and leaning against the doorframe, which wasn’t really a surprise to her, “morning blyth!” she hollered, going past him to enter the cabin and place her satchel down on one of the desks, before exiting again to stand next to him. she crossed her arms as she examined him momentarily, “you look more miserable than usual today,” she commented, his eye bags mirroring her own from the clear lack of sleep, “how many hours of sleep did you manage to get in?” knowing that his sleeping habits were godawful, she was expecting an abysmal number, though it wasn’t like she was any better.

001. strange nights that mess with your mind

Postby འབྲོག་ཁྱི » Tue Apr 05, 2022 6:18 am

. ─── 𝑳𝑼𝑲𝑬 𝑴𝑨𝑪𝑲𝑬𝑵𝒁𝑰𝑬, BLACK SKY PATROLLER
tagging; Noa, open. mentioned; Adam, Anastasia. location; lakeshore near camp.

The waves of opaque blue folded themselves over the rocks with a languidness better suited for the summer, not for this time of year that tilted keenly toward winter. It was also around this time when a chill would appear in the shadows, and by the lake, beneath the trees and at the mercy of the wind that came across the water, it was always cold when the warm golden sunlight had been stolen away by the sheet of clouds covering the sky. It might have been peaceful, too, if it weren't for the column of dark smoke snaking its way across the mountains in the distance past the lake. Luke's eyes never truly left it, not even when she flicked a pebble across the rippling waves and watched it sink beneath the surface. The air tasted of iron and something earthier born of the decaying leaves underfoot.

indentindentinNoa was standing only a few steps away, lingering like a young willow over the water, with the breeze stirring her hair where it rested across her shoulders. They were usually much more at ease, and when the lake had still been warm, they had spent a lot of the summer in this place, dangling their feet in the waves and talking about nothing in particular until the horizon behind the mountains opened into shades of peach and purple like a flower at dawn. Today they both knew that everything wasn't quite right anymore, that much was to be gleaned from the frown that had set itself in the curve of Luke's mouth and the disquiet of her bearing as she eyed the distant sky, but neither of them had spoken, and so the quiet had drawn out and hung tense between them. She should have been getting orders from Adam or even Anastasia, but Noa came first. Noa would always come first.

indentindentin"If this gets worse, I don't want us to stay," Luke finally spoke, thumbing the surface of another pebble but not casting it into the waters. Noa shifted on her feet, her eyes flickering to gauge what she could see of the side of Luke's face, but she remained silent yet. Luke still had bandages on her arm and wrapped around her shoulder, tugging at her skin with each movement and bringing back images of the encounter with the Red Pine wolf. Neither of them had ever acquainted much with wolves from outside of Black Sky, and so she had known something was wrong when the strange smell, rising from unfamiliar fur and spread by a stranger's feet, had hit her, but she had been too slow to react, too lulled by the safety around Harvest Lake she had once believed in. The encounter had frightened her, deeply, but she had shut all away from Noa, and her fear became the sharp insistence behind her words.

indentindentin"When we came here, it was to keep you safe. We never agreed to a turf war. They should understand that."

. ─── 𝑵𝑶𝑨 𝑾𝑨𝑲𝑬𝑭𝑰𝑬𝑳𝑫, BLACK SKY TRAINEE
tagging; Luke, Keegan. mentioned; --. location; lakeshore near camp.

Noa picked idly at her nails, even as Luke's words washed over her like cold water. She had seen the smoke rising from across the lake, heard the stories from the patrollers, even glimpsed the white edges of Luke's bandages, and the arrival of the strange pack scared her as much as it might have scared anyone else. Luke's words seemed to drive that fear deeper, past the defenses of the skin, and turned it into stark reality, where she was pushed to stand on the ledge of decisions, having no choice but to pick one or the other. The reason why it made it all so real was because she trusted Luke's judgment — of course she did. And if Luke said that the safest thing to do, the sanest thing, was to leave Black Sky and go someplace else, then Noa wanted to believe that, too.

indentindentinBut what had her picking at her nails and quietly staring into the roiling water was the riptide of indecision where there usually would not have been one. She wanted to agree with Luke, and in some way make up for the choices she had made for Noa's sake all those years ago, but — as much as it had required for her to pluck up her own courage — she had arrived at the conclusion that, in spite of everything, she did not want to leave the pack. She did not want to leave, but in all of her insecurity, she feared that Luke knew better than she did, and so she stood there, wavering, somewhere between addled silence and the uttering of the words lurking on her tongue. She glanced at Luke, at the grim determination of her face as she stared at the rising smoke, as if in search of an answer, and she chose the cowardly reply.

indentindentin"I know," came her soft, silvery voice, and she could tell by the change passing over Luke's face that she had caught on to the intentional vagueness, but instead of either of them saying anything more, they lapsed back into the murky silence. At least until came the bright voice from past the trees, calling her name. Noa knew immediately that it was Keegan, and so did Luke, and as they both turned toward it, Noa's eyes fell questioningly on her. Luke's frown seemed to find a deeper groove, but she nodded her head in the new hunter's direction, and Noa bounded off to cross the boundary of trees that stood between the camp and the lake.

Luke's words proved difficult to shake, but although they were beginning to gather into an ominous feeling in the pit of Noa's stomach, she couldn't help the smile that broke across her face when the trees gave way and she spotted Keegan waiting in the camp. Her question brought back the turmoil that had seized their pack and the fear she had wrestled with for more than one night now, and her smiled dulled a little, but she forced out a half-hearted sound of laughter. It might not have made sense to pretend around her friend, but Noa wasn't certain how much she could say about what Luke had told her.
indentin"A little restlessly, I guess." A shiver passed through her, and she drew her hands into the sleeves of her oversized cardigan to keep them from the chill. "This— other pack. They don't seem to like us being here very much. I think this entire situation is making me uneasy."

Harui Ruko- m- 24 y- Black Sky hunter- homo; Logan and alpha but...who knows how that would go- SO open- would have to adopt- Koto x Hana: older siblings, litter-mates, younger siblings; aunts and uncles, cousins- Tags: open

The sweet and gentle but stubborn and hard headed pretty Japanese male stopped himself. He thought of Logan, and wondered if he'd want to hunt together. Truth be told, he had a bit of a crush on him. On Dokja too, but... that was their alpha. He didn't know how Dokja felt about any of them. Not to mention he could have anyone he wanted, if they felt the same way. Harui didn't even know why he'd picked. He wouldn't be picked, he wasn't confident, so he'd never even said anything.

Shaking his head, the smaller golden eyed male turned back. The white toed one began to run back, then phased to human. He dusted himself off, not that he really needed to. Shaking his head, he went in search of Logan, and finally found the other hunter. He smiled and said "H...Ahem...Hello Logan," he greeted, as that was the right thing to do first. "I was wondering if you'd want to go hunting with me. We...could also just hang out and talk if you'd rather," he said.

xxxxx the cold mornings were always dokja's favorite. the way the cold air would move through his hair, feel so icy on his skin. the way it was so comforting to him, it made him feel alive. even if it was just a small breeze or a freezing morning. feeling the way it made his skin prickle was addicting. especially in the winter, when the snow would fall in his brown hair, or touch and melt on his warm skin. dokja adored the cold, and he adored the way it felt. it was something he was willing to wake up extra early for, even if he went to sleep late the night before.

xxxxx dokja didn't sleep a lot. he usually went to sleep last to make sure everyone was sleeping sound and didn't need anything before he retired. which usually meant the earliest he could sleep was around midnight, if he was even that lucky. and usually waking up early anyway, around four or five a.m, dokja found himself tired a lot. of course, he'd never admit it. he'd never admit his defeat, or that he just needs a nap that day. instead, dokja just fights on with the eyebags under his eyes. it was just the easiest thing for him. it was better than bothering anastasia- bothering her and asking her to do his duties when he could just do them on his own. no, dokja wanted to be a dependable leader. not one that needed more rest and sleep. in all honestly, dokja didn't know the next day he'd be able to rest. but he was hoping there would come a day he could disappear for a while without something going on, like a stupid feud or someone needing commands because they didn't know what to do on their own.

xxxxx sipping his coffee slowly, dokja only let out a small sigh. sometimes he felt like he wasn't made for the alpha role. sometimes he was worried he was doing badly- that he wasn't fit because he was so much younger than the normal alpha's. like the redpine's alpha- he was much younger than him. it made him insecure- his skin crawl. his heart always dropped at the thought that maybe he was genuinely too young for this. too young to be an alpha. he was doing good so far- at least, that was what some people would say to him. but he didn't know if he genuinely was, if he genuinely was doing a good job. all he could do was sigh and lean his head against the wall lightly, his eyes burning as he shut them closed. he really was exhausted.

xxxxx after a moment of leaning into the cabin, dokja finally pulled himself away before straightening out his flannel jacket, sucking in a deep breath. he was more than ready to do whatever he needed to do, help whoever needed it and just talk to whoever wanted ot sit and talk. it was what dokja was best at- talking. he loved talking to everyone in the pack. whether it be someone who just needs someone to talk to and vent to, or a little kid who wanted to share their story because no one else was listening. it was his favorite thing to do, plus it helped him feel closer to his pack. made him feel like he understood them better, got to know them more. it was so nice.

xxxxx his eyes flickering towards the movement in the corner of his eye- dokja immediately let a small smile grace his lips as he saw the familiar face approaching him. "good morning, draco," he smiled. his head tiltng to the side. ".. i don't really have a plan," he admitted sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head lightly. "i was thinking just finishing up the chores we didn't finish yesterday, get patrolling and hunting over with and just letting today be a relaxed day. before tomorrow, when i really make you work," he winked at draco jokingly.

Hazel was coming back from the range; a morning patrol had gotten her out of bed this morning, but restlessness had been burning her blood ever since. Even though everyone did their part to take care of the camp when they weren't doing their regular job, Hazel still had trouble keeping herself occupied at times. Today she'd been practicing throwing knives; though the crudely-made targets were usually used for practicing archery or gunmanship, Hazel had always wanted to learn how to throw knives. Of course, she didn't really have any lightweight blades that were ideal for throwing, so she hadn't really been able to do so exceptionally well. Just chucking a heavy knife at a board without any sort of precision or grace. Eventually she had grown bored and frustrated and, with an anguished roll of her eyes, had picked up her knife, tucked it back into her belt, and headed back into the center of camp.

It was a cool morning, Hazel wearing her beat-up olive green jacket open over a slim black t-shirt, with her hair up in its usual simple ponytail. Fashion had never really been her thing, and as much as she could appreciate a nice piece of clothing, she was mostly the type to wear a similar outfit just about every day, or wear a piece of clothing until it was absolutely no longer serviceable. Tromping through the well-worn paths that weaved through the center of camp, Hazel's attention was abruptly captured by someone calling her name. She recognized Mal's voice immediately; it was hard to mistake her for anyone else. Hazel couldn't resist a sly-but-friendly smirk when she saw the other girl approach her. Mal's sarcastic greeting felt very familiar, in line with her attitude - so, despite her snarky timbre, it was a pleasant greeting to hear.

"You're looking chipper this morning." Joked Hazel, matching Mallory's dramatic greeting. She slowed her pace a little to allow Mal to match her stride and walk beside her. She wasn't even sure how to answer the question about what she was doing; she didn't really want to mention her failed attempts to get good at knife-throwing, since it felt a little silly to explain, but other than that she had been up to remarkably little today.

"I'm just enjoying the lovely weather." She scoffed, although in all actuality, it was rather placid outside at the moment. It was starting to get quite cold out and any day now they could end up pinned by the snow. That was worrying for a pack which had just barely settled in, and although Hazel tried not to show it, she was as anxious as anyone about the coming winter.

Charlie was a late riser - always had been. She wasn't a morning person - despite the fact that wolves were supposed to be crepuscular or whatever, which meant they liked being up around dawn and dusk. Dusk, Charlie was on board with. Dawn? Not so much. Some hunter she was, huh? Not that it really warranted worrying about now. Charlie got up and immediately went for her mirror, tousling her thick mane of dark, glossy hair until she managed to get it to look passable. She rustled through her disorganized things until she found her makeup case - a relic of her outside life. Sure, there probably wasn't much point to wearing makeup out here in the middle of the woods where the only people who would see her were the same people she saw every day, but she just didn't feel like herself without a bit of bold eyeliner. Seeing the gray sky outside which threatened rain, Charlie threw on her black leather jacket over her clothes and decided to finally head out. Hopefully she wouldn't get immediately pulled away to go do something droll.

Thankfully, it actually seemed pretty peaceful outside. Most of the pack was already up and about, although it seemed like they weren't exceptionally busy. Charlie marched off, considering heading down towards the water. She felt around in her pocket for a stick of gum, but it was empty. She probably didn't have any gum left, anyway. If she'd been back in the city, she could've just gone to a corner store to get more, but that was the thing - here you couldn't just go out and get something like chewing gum or makeup. You had to go ask someone if you could take one of the beat-up old trucks into town, and then justify why you wanted to, and if you didn't then somebody would end up giving you a lecture. With a sigh, she gave up searching her pockets.

She supposed she could go talk to her sister, although she wasn't sure she wanted to do so. Not that she didn't love Ava, of course, but they saw each other all the time, and Charlie still felt a lingering soreness between them. They got along well, but a part of Charlie felt guilty for having left her for the past few years. The age gap between the two sisters had always put a bit of distance between them, but Charlie's absence had only widened it. She spotted Noa and Keegan near the treeline, although they looked like they were engaged in conversation with one another. Keegan she got along with well enough, and the two had hunted together before. Noa she didn't know too well, though.

Charlie kept moving on, picking through the trees towards the water. Luke was lingering over there, being her usual withdrawn self. Luke still acted like an outsider. Most of the pack was pretty put off by her attitude, but Charlie sort of related to her. Luke wasn't the easiest to get along with, though. "Morning, Luke." Charlie greeted nonetheless, without a friendly wave and only a semi-fake smile. "Sociable as ever, I see."

Sighing she walked to the kitchen to take a cup of coffee, her eyes looked to the alpha there who was talking with the Draco. She never told to anyone, but the day, when the Dokja was promoted as a new alpha, shocked her, not like she didn't trust him, but he seems too unmatured and young for the serious task, and sometimes she was afraid that he could overload himself.

She drink her coffee as she silently eavesdropped on the conversations between the alpha and the patroller "Good morning Dokja" she spoke up suddenly, walking closer to the two males, "Draco" she continued giving a smile to Draco. She turned back to the alpha "Uh...by the way Dokja have you seen Adam yet this morning?" he asked the younger male.

He was awakened a little earlier than most others, or at least most of them did go out of their rooms after himself. He already made some tea and did a small sandwich, he took them outside as he left the house to sit on the terrace to enjoy his breakfast.

The weather was nice even if it was autumn already and the nights were pretty cold, the wind was cool too, but it didn't bother him that much. He took a drink of his tea and finished his sandwich when the familiar figure of the other hunter Harui got his way "hello Harui..." he responded to the two years younger male hunter. He finished his tea quickly as he listened to what else the male was saying "sure...I was planning to go out for a hunt anyway so...yeah we can go together..." he responded to him.

He thought that could he need to tell that to someone like Anastasia so they could know where they were and could not look for them for no reason.

The average height and slender beauty of a female hummed as she looked around. They were back home, finally back home. This made the redhead happy, and she played with her hair. The brown ends, part of the reason behind her name, stood out. Forest green eyes of the creamy skinned one glanced to their alpha. She was wearing a green shirt and tan pants today.

She'd rather be in a skirt and blouse...but that wasn't always practical. Humming quietly, she continued to watch their alpha. She was waiting for some sort of signal from him. She then realized she should probably set out to patrol. Shaking her head, she turned away. Turning into the red, brown, and white form, she looked towards the lake a moment. Shaking her head, she began to walk. Not that she'd say it, but Black Sky wasn't really a threat; Red Pine were the ones pushing at them.

Harui Ruko- m- 24 y- Black Sky hunter- homo; Logan and alpha but...who knows how that would go- SO open- would have to adopt- Koto x Hana: older siblings, litter-mates, younger siblings; aunts and uncles, cousins- Tags: Logan

The sweet and gentle but stubborn and hard headed pretty Japanese male smiled at Logan. He dipped his head to him a moment. He then shook his head a couple times, and raised it. He said "We should probably go tell Anastasia. Do you want to go together to tell her? I could go run and quickly tell her if you'd rather," he said to the other male. He seemed excited at the prospect of going out with him, hunting. He smiled a bit, then said "Oh, um...how has your day been? I know it's morning, but still. Asking about the day works even now," he said, as one could talk about dreams or how they had a good sleep. They could say they had a good breakfast. They could also complain if needed.

The cabin was quiet save for the birdsong that filtered in through one of the windows that sat ajar near the front of the dwelling. She was by no means an early riser but would often give herself a, so to say, pat on the back for not being the last to wake. The woman woke early enough so that her mornings were still her own and wasn't ruled by the essence of time. Long fingers played with the tip of the page that rested between two fingers while her eyes flicked over the page, reading the words at lightning speed. Books were one of the few things she found solace in, true and simple peace that could put her mind at ease and take her from the harsh reality that she lived in. Bren wasn't a bookworm by any means, most of the time she loathed reading but it had been her father's favourite hobby. She could just imagine him now, settled on the porch swing of their house with a pair of round framed glass perched on his nose, the scent of coffee beans and the sweet, musky smell of the book that would have his rapt attention.

Everyday she missed him more than she could put into words but everyday she would remind herself that the distance put between them was to make his life easier. Sat in the old cushioned chair with her legs hooked over one arm she finished reading the chapter she'd been on before she rose, closed the book in her hand and gathered the coffee mug that sat on the coffee table. The dark brew was cold now as it had been forgotten amongst the twists and turns of her reading but she still pounded back the last of it as she made her way to the kitchen counter.

Her mornings often looked like this, calm and relaxed which was often what she needed before a day of hard work and with it being so close to winter, the days were often long and exhausting. The dark haired woman neared the front door, bending her tall figure to pull on the black lace up boots that she left untied at the top along with the black leather jacket that was her signature. It was one of the only items of clothing she would wear against the elements, not at all favouring the weight and poof of winter jackets no matter how warm and protective they may be against the harsh temperatures. Freeing her long hair from where it had been tucked under the collar of her jacket, she swept up her curly, unruly locks into a ponytail before twisting it around her hand and pinning it in a haphazard bun, strands falling wildly out of it.

Exiting her cabin she stood on the front porch for a moment, hazel eyes flitting around the cluster of cabins that surrounded her own, watching as her pack mates milled within and outside of them. Brennan sunk down onto one of the steps leading from the porch, new coffee cup with a fresh, steaming hot brew in hand and she raised it to her lips to draw a long sip from it as she watched the pack around her.

Emerging from the coziness of the cabin behind her Reave finished off the last bit of the granola bar she'd added to her breakfast menu that morning, flicking the crumbs from her fingers onto the grass below. Her bright glass-like blue eyes were alight as she took a moment to let them scan the pack's camp. A deep inhale through her nose sent a cool chill up her sinuses, momentarily clearing them. She was very prone to allergies, a laughable condition for one of her kind to possess, thankfully it seemed to be only seasonal. Dressed in an oversized grey crewneck, a pair of light washed denim jeans cuffed at the ankles and short black boots with a tiny heel it was clear she was dressed for comfort. Autumn was her favourite season and she was entirely convinced there wasn't anything one could hate about the season. From the pumpkin spice everything and the stunning array of colour that washed over the trees to the cool temperature that made it perfect for going out in just a sweater, Reave was completely in her element.

Striding down the porch steps and beginning her amble from her doorstep through the camp, the blonde woman absently played with the silver rings that decorated her fingers, something she had always been fond of. The sound of steel on wood had her lifting her eyes off to the side where she spotted Adam swinging an axe to split wood, adding each log to the steadily growing pile he'd been working on. She had half a mind to go see if the captain wanted any help but by the looks of it she already knew the answer and she disliked voicing questions she already knew the answer to. So putting that thought behind her, Reave set her sights elsewhere namely on someone else. She could tell who it was that her eyes landed on simply from the lavender and white jacket she wore, the clothing piece was so like Ava that it caused Reave's lips to tilt up in a fond smile.

Tucking her hair behind her left ear to keep it out of her face, she felt the ends brush her shoulders as she set off towards the young girl. She had taken a liking to Ava straight away and had bonded with her quite closely in a way that a sister would, something she had yearned for all her life. Reave was a very familial being and when her brother left her, leaving her with no kin in the pack, it was a welcomed respite to take Ava under her wing. "Glad to see you up on time. No sleeping in this morning?" the light tone that left her on a breath was coupled with the glint in her blue eyes as she strode up alongside Ava, her eyes dropping to her jacket before the same smile from earlier crept back upon her face.

The steady beat of his heart was the all he heard form his place crouched within the tall grass, completely concealing his dusty grey pelt. His sharp eyes had his target in sight though he merely watched. The deer before him was relatively small but could make a reasonably sized meal for a few wolves. Case watched the unsuspecting creature lower it's head to graze on the lush grass, pulling up clumps with it's teeth, chewing, swallowing and repeating the cycle. His eyes roved over the long, gangly legs that he suspected would shake at the mere sight of him. He could feel his wolf gnawing at the surface, wanting to surge forward and claim their prey, but Case had been skilled at controlling those animalistic urges for quite some time now, contrary to what most would like to believe.

Minutes passed of simply observing the deer before the male shifted slightly, gathering his haunches beneath him, muscles preparing for action. He waited for the stag to turn in a circle, focused on it's grazing with it's back to him, before he lunged out from the grass in which he was hiding. In mid-air he caught a flash of fur from the corner of his eye a second faster than he was and a frustrated snarl erupted from his jaws as he landed right where the deer had been. Head whipping to the side he wheeled on the coyote that had spoiled his hunt it took mere seconds for the massive grey wolf to latch his jaws onto the smaller predators neck, snapping it in an instant. Blood coated his muzzle and areas of his chest and it wasn't until his foe's body fell limply to the ground that he noted it had gotten a few good scratches in while it fought briefly for it's life.

There were multiple shallow scores running down his right shoulder and blood stained the grey fur around it like a brand. Well frustrated and sour now that his hunt had been ruined and he'd been maimed, the large wolf turned on his heel and jogged back to the pack's camp. He shifted just on the outskirts of the camp not bothering to conceal himself between shifting and retrieving his clothes from a nearby stump. Because of the blood that covered his shoulder and most of his upper body he vetoed pulling on his shirt, carrying it in one hand as he lumbered through the camp, headed towards his cabin to clean up.
