In the high sea cliffs of Greece live a herd of magnificent beasts. They are the stuff of legends, graceful in every way. They are The Flight, a herd of Pegasi, and the grandest group of animals to ever grace the sky. But when their first leader, Pegasus, passes away, the Flight is tossed into turmoil. Trechery or Loyalty? Which side will you choose?

He was raised well by humans who also trained him, for they wanted a champion just like his parents. One day wanted to take a walk in the forest near his stables. The stallion jumped the fence with ease and galloped into the trees. (He does go visit his horse family and friends from time to time, though.)

Behaviors and Characteristics of Pegasi

(BETA!!!)

Unlike horses, the lead mare and stallion are not mates (Most of the time). Instead, the flock votes for the leaders.

Pegasi are gatherers, and, instead of simply grazing, they collect many different types of vegetation and bring it back to the Meadow.

Pegasi are able to fly at 2 years of age and are fully grown at 5

Pegasi's bones are hollow and their hooves are cloven, much like a goat's. There is some sort of magic in play though, for they hardly ever shatter or break their hollow bones. They are also smaller than a horse, averaging at around 14.5 feet and weighing a mere 600 pounds. They have a wingspan of 28 feet, each wing being 12 feet long.

Pegasi also need a take-off strip of about 20 feet that leads off a cliff, most of the time. A more generic takeoff, like one of a bird, can only be executed by strong Pegasi over 5 years. They can land in much smaller spaces, though.

Diet

Manna, a honey-like sap, is collected in the summer with the aid of Margie and her flock. Manna has magical attributes, similar to ambrosia's relationship with the gods, and is used in many aspects of the Pegasi's life. There is a party that reaches over the period of a week after the first Manna harvest.

Asphodel is a flowering plant with tubers, and is a favorite of many Pegasi.

Wild wheat and barley grows near the Meadow. The Pegasi often harvest this grain in summer and eat it in winter.
