"No thank-you I'm good! But thanks for the offer," Caitlin responded trying to be polite because he had been nothing but kind. Caitlin looked at Jordan,"Can I borrow your flashlight?"She asked Jordan,"I'm gonna go get the puppy and my sweatshirt I'm kind of cold." She smiled.

"Yeah, of course." Jordan said, handing her the flashlight. He toasted the bread and put it on his plate, spreading some butter on it. He then grabbed a chocolate muffin and put it next to the toast. He brought his breakfast to the table, then grabbed a glass and filled it with milk. He got another glass out, but left it on the counter, unsure of what Caitlin would want to drink.

Caitlin happily took the flashlight and turned it on. She jogged down the hall and into the basement, she opened the door and instantly heard wineing. She walked in and pointed the flashlight bye the bed, the puppy was in the same area and sow as her sweatshirt. Caitlin picked up the puppy and then wrapped it in her sweatshirt after feeling that it was cold. She jogged up the stairs and into the dinning room. the puppy had stopped wineing and was now beginning to fall asleep. She held the wrapped up dog close to her chest and watched it.

JORDAN

Jordan took a seat next to Caitlin. He took a large gulp of milk and started on his muffin.

JUNE

June had woken in her plain bed. She got up and changed into blue jeans and a black-and-green striped shirt. Thankfully, the sleeves were long, because it was freezing in the house. June slipped into some rainbow fuzzy socks and walked towards her mirror. She studied the young 12-year-old girl there. The tanned, brown haired, shiny green eyed girl staring back at her. That girl was who she wanted to be. But that girl wasn't her. June wasn't as mature as she looked. She sighed and pulled her hair into a ponytail, then stepped out the door. She met up with her dad in the hall. They made for the stairs, but suddenly, the lights blinked. The blinked again, and went out completely. At the first blink, June's dad had turned around and pulled two flashlights out of a closet. He switched them on just as the lights went out. June let out a squeak of surprise They raced downstairs and found Caitlin and Jordan. Then June grabbed herself a blueberry muffin and a glass of orange juice. She studied Caitlin. Wow, her brother knew how to pick 'em! Caitlin was so kind, and her smile was very mature and beautiful. June secretly admired the teen, and hoped she could get to know her. But probably not...

Caitlin sat down next to Jordan and smiled. She cradled the now sleeping puppy. She smiled and looked at June."Morning!" Caitlin said to Jne and her father,"thanks you so much for letting me stay!"Cailtlin looked at June again.

JORDAN

Jordan dove into his toast, and finished it quickly. He took another swig of milk, and began the second half of his muffin, savoring the taste.

JUNE

June took a sip of orange juice. "Good morning, Caitlin." she said, trying to act calm. Caitlin had greeted her, and was now looking at her specifically! June tapped her feet on the ground excitedly. "How did you sleep?" she asked, taking the paper off of her muffin.

"Alright I had a cuddle buddy though,"Caitlin said laughing slightly,"the pup slept right next to me all night!"Caitlin smiled and ate her muffin happily.

JORDAN

Jordan laughed at the comment, then said; "How is she doing, anyways?" He wondered how Caitlin and the pup had slept. He hoped that they weren't restless last night.

JUNE

June awaited Caitlin's response eagerly, taking another sip of orange juice. She finished her muffin and stood up to put her plate and glass in the sink.

"Ohs she seems to be doing real good!"Caitlin said happily,"After you left we played for a few minutes before she fell sleep."Caitlin finished her muffin. She looked at the sleeping puppy and shivered slightly, she was cold but the puppy needed it more. She sat there and stroked the puppy's head before looking up and smiling at Jordan.

JORDAN

Jordan smiled back. "That's great!" he said happily.

When everyone finished breakfast, Jordan put his dishes away and turned to Caitlin. "Wanna work on the science project?" he asked, hoping that they could get a lot of work done on it.
