Rianon held tightly to Keegan's hand as they entered the room where Soteria was waiting for them. She was slightly taken aback by how large the room was. She had forgotten that gods generally chose to appear much larger than mortals, and the sheer size of the room intimidated her. She looked up at the immense figure of Soteria and cautiously said, "Lady Soteria? We have a request to make."

Their eyes immediately zeroed in on the giant intimidating goddess on the other side of the room. She was in her larger form and wore her laurels as described. It was evident she wasn't pleased with them being there but she especially grew snide after being addressed, "My father sent you."
Uh oh.
"So now that my father's failed, you need my help. Typical demigods, can you do nothing for yourselves?"
As much as that stung, they knew they had to think fast. The goddess needed to be convinced, and what better way to invoke family drama?
"Camp Half-Blood is being assaulted by monsters and us kids are having a hard time keeping them out. Technically yes, your father failed us so that's why we've come to you. We know that you're the best for security so we were hoping we could ask this favour of you to which you'd never hear from us again after that."

Rianon stepped forward slightly and dipped her head in respect. “Please Lady Soteria. We need your help. If Camp Halfblood falls, the Titans will have a new way of trying to take over again.” She had figured Soteria wouldn’t exactly jump at the opportunity to help them, but she hadn’t expected such hostility. “Please,” she pleaded again. “You’re our last chance.”

Soteria eyed them both curiously. They weren't sure if she was irritated, amused, or ambivalent about the whole scenario. They wanted to think she'd just say yes, but knew that likely wasn't the case. Sure enough, she proved them right, "And what's in it for me? The Titans have been defeated before and I'm safe right here."
"One-upping your dad, the recognition you deserve, a temple in camp in your honour to name a few things," they listed off trying to get the goddess' attention. They figured she was likely miffed about being left out or the usual Olympian drama so what betr way than entice her personally? Luckily, she took a minute to think over the proposition.

Rianon was beginning to feel distressed. Her vision of camp if their quest failed surfaced in her mind and she fought to push it back down. “Lady Soteria, if the Titans gain power, for real, the only way you would somehow stay safe in this bubble is if you sided with them,” she said, trying to make the goddess see reason. “Please,” she repeated, unable to say anything else. “Please, help us.”

Soteria seemed to consider their point a moment before relaxing and sitting back on a seat made of laurel. She drummed her fingers against the wood before looking at them with a slightly bored expression, "and how do you suggest we do this? What with the Titans practically on our doorstep?"
That stumped Keegan for a moment. They weren't exactly sure; she was the goddess after all.

“Well, um, we don’t exactly know what we should do,” Rianon said tentatively. “We were hoping you would know what to do to keep the Titans from getting to the camp.” The nightmare visions she had seen were looming again and she was beginning to lose hope that Soteria would join them against the Titans. She looked back at Keegan for help, hoping they could come up with a solution.

Keegan froze and gave her a panicked look. For gods' sake they were kids, how were they supposed to do this? So far, they'd succeeded at everything even when it felt like they couldn't but now this goddess was going to ruin it all. Perhaps she simply enjoyed watching them flounder because Soteria's chuckles grabbed their attention again.
"You're right, you do need my help. Perhaps this will work in my favour," she mused before standing up and looking at them with interest.

Rianon instinctively took a step back without realizing it when Soteria stood up from where she had been sitting. The goddess was much more intimidating standing at full height, and she subconsciously moved closer to Keegan. “What do you mean that it could work in your favor?” she asked cautiously. Making deals with immortal beings could be tricky, and she didn’t want them to get stuck in something they couldn’t do.

The goddess ignored her question and walked down towards them. Keegan knew that they did need to be careful of some kind of interference, but they also knew that they didn't have many options. When the goddess reached them, they explained where Camp Half-Blood was and simply followed her as she began to exit her parapets. Dropping back, they walked beside Rianon and shot her a reassuring look.
