James sighed, "What do you mean by 'better'?" he asked. Suddenly he remembered something. "I have cookies!" James exclaimed, remembering the cookies he had baked for their 'date.' "Feel free to help yourself if you'd like, I made chocolate chip and sugar cookies."

(Bedtime, I think )

Metody shook his head. "No thanks. And so I can secure it around my hand as well." He said.

James sighed, pulling Snickers out of his pocket and setting the disheveled looking rat on his shoulder, where he immediately began to groom himself. "I can do that," he said, "I have gauze tape." James didn't want Metody to leave, and he was also worried that the other wouldn't bandage himself.

[Kaidaft]

Metody sighed, picking up his jacket. "I have a friend with medical knowledge. It's fine." He held his jacket draped over an arm, grabbed his car keys, and checked his phone. "Look, I've- I'm gonna go. You still have my number." He made his way out the door and into his car.

James smiled sadly, "Alright then, I'll see you later, right?" he asked, following Metody to the doorway. He stood in the doorway with Snickers on his shoulder. He watched Metody get ready to go.

Melody drove off, back to his house. While stopping for gas he texted his friend to meet at his house and bring a bit of medical supplies. It took him about fifteen minutes to get back to his place, the friend already waiting. She had pixie-cut white hair and pale eyes. She sat on the porch with a green satchel. "What did you do this time?" She asked him sarcastically, waiting for the door to be unlocked. He opened the door for her, giving an audible sigh. "Look, I don't need your sass Jan. It was a vampire. Not to the neck, but he did get my wrist pretty deep." Janet, or Jan, was a friend of Metody who was human. She became more interested in treating the surreal as well and became closely acquainted with Metody after frequent visits to the clinic. She help with a good amount of the scars he had, especially with the biggest ones on his hand and across his chest and down his abdominals. She made herself to a table where Metody followed, sitting himself after her. He put out his hand, letting her have control. "Looks like it has scabbed over some, doesn't look too bad from the outside." She tugged off his glove and threw it somewhere on the floor. Metody's hands, what he hid from James, were lined with bright scars branching out all over his hands like the veins of a leaf. "I'm going to put some medication on it, and wrap it for now, you better not mess with it, okay?" She told him, cleaning the bite first. It stung, but he only lightly flinched. She applied the medication and wrapped it in gauze, securing it around his thumb too. "Thanks, Jan." He said, getting up to pick up the glove, taking off his other one and setting them on the table. "Now how about you tell me what happened." Jan said, sitting with him on the couch.

James made himself a microwave dinner and sat down on the couch to eat it, feeding Snickers little bits as he went. He was worried that he had upset Metody and got his phone out. Did you get home ok? He texted, worried.

While Metody was telling Jan everything, his phone buzzed in his back pocket. He read the contact ID and the message below before clicking his phone off with a sigh. "Sorry, it's just... him." He said, Jan nodding, getting the hint. "I'll talk to him later." Metody said, finishing his story.

James sighed and held Snickers in his lap. "What do you think, buddy? I bet he hates me now huh?" He checked his phone to see that Metody did not reply. He texted him one more time. Did you get home alright? Do you hate me now? I'm sorry for what I did, really. If you hate me, just tell me, lots of people do, I can take it. Just let me know and I'll never contact you again, promise. Just say the word.
