Power Playing/Controlling Others
XX[➵ ✿ Also known as god modding, this is not allowed. No taking control over anyone else's characters, or giving your character the ultimate power. Everybody has flaws, make sure your horse has them. Don't say that your character dealt a blow to another if they were fighting, leave it open, giving the other roleplayer a chance to respond. Not every snaking will be successful, your horse will not always win--and they will get exhausted, just like in real life.

Breeds & Age
XX[➵ ✿ All breeds are accepted here, drafts, mustangs, champion jumpers, hunters, show horses, family ponies, driving horses, etc. I won't accept donkeys or mules, though. Different breeds of horses have varying life ranges. But most commonly horses don't exceed the age of 22+ without living in captivity. Mares usually stop being able to birth around the age of 18-20, sometimes gestating, but dying during the birthing process. Stallions can still impregnate mares until within two years of their death.

Characters & Literacy
XX[➵ ✿ Everybody can have as many characters as they can handle. If you feel like you have too many, feel free to inform me that you're killing some off, and maybe play out their 'death scene'. No matter how many characters you have, I at least expect 5 or more sentences for each character during your posts. That's a simple yet small paragraph, and I think all of us are capable of doing that. If you can't think of anything, describe what your character is thinking, feeling, doing, seeing, tasting, where they are, what they look like doing something, etc.

Signatures & Beginning Characters:
XX[➵ ✿ Make sure your signature is disabled on the main thread, it makes things neater and less of a distraction from the storyline. Also, all horses begin on their own, no automatic herds. Herds are when there's a group of 3+ horses banded together.

Twins & Foals
XX[➵ ✿ There are two sets of twins that are able to be born each year. If you don’t have a reserved spot, and you make twins, that’s a strike. As well as this, if any foals are born with major disabilities (mutation, blindness, no senses, mental/physical disabilities), they will most likely be killed off by the stallion of the herd, but it’s mainly up to you. Just remember that if this does happen and you do keep the foal, the lead mare/stallion will chase your characters out of the herd and not let them back in unless the foal is abandoned, dead, or dealt with. I know it sucks, but this is how things work in the real world.

Breeding Requirements
XX[➵ ✿ Mares will discover their first heat at 2-3 years. Sometimes 1 1/2. If bred earlier than 3, it can take a major toll on the mares and most likely kill them when they give birth. Colts are able to reproduce at 1 1/2 to 2 Years.

XXXXThe head and neck are typically held high, and the muscles are tensed. The whites of the eyes may be showing, and the horse may be quivering or trembling. The tail may be tucked tightly against the hindquarters. The horse often can’t stand still and may try to bolt. It may also grind its teeth.

XXXXThe ears are pointed in the direction of where the horse is looking (ears may flick back and forth if a lot is happening in its surroundings). The head and neck are held up; there’s a bright, attentive look to the eyes; and the tail may be elevated.

XXXXA basic, happy attitude. There’s a soft look to the eye (normal blinking, not staring), and the muscles are relaxed overall. A horse will slightly lower its head, the ears may be forward or neutral (not focused in any particular direction), the mouth relaxed, and it may sigh and lick its lips. One hind leg might be cocked in relaxation if the horse is standing still.

Indentation Neck arched, ears pointed directly forward, his brown and blue eyes gleamed as the sun dappled down through the trees he moved underneath. They twitched at soft movements in the underbrush, rotating atop his head. As he breached the tree line and revealed his liver chestnut coat to the scorching sun, his ears pinned to his skull and he raised a hind leg in warning to the young bachelor colt behind him. Once the brat had got the hint and scurried away from the older stallion, Azimuth raised his head once again and exhaled heavily through his nostrils. He had to find mares. It was the prime of spring and they were swarming into heat. Maybe he’d be lucky and find a mare who wouldn’t put too much of a fight, but that wouldn’t make him any less determined to snake her. One of little words, he let out a short whinny when he noticed a tobiano mare wandering the field in front of him. Here was his first girl, one of what would soon become many.

Indentation hot to the touch, sweat rolled behind his ears as he audibly groaned and made his way at an achingly slow walk to the shores of the lake. the one mare he had just claimed for the spring had been snatched out from underneath him by a more experienced stallion, yet one that wasn’t to be around much longer. Parallax wasn’t one to put up much of a fight when he knew he would lose. Besides, it wasn’t much of a loss because the mare had a competitor’s colt. Though he wouldn’t have killed off the little thing, the opposing stallion more than likely would. He waded into the water until it rested halfway up his flank. Soothed by the water, he felt the little fish nibble on his legs for the flies that had been too foolish to fly away before they met their demise. Deciding that he would wait at the lake for awhile, knowing that mares would show up soon, his assumptions were correct when a mare approached. He lifted his maw and nickered kindly to her.

Indentation Rising from the patch of flattened grass, Stella made sure to quickly shake her body then trot in a circle to attend to the fox that had been testing her boundaries. Ears pinned, she bounced forward on her hind legs, bringing her hooves down, nicking the fox with her toe as she left shallow scores in the cool earth. With fearful yips and one of pain, the red pest took off away from the palomino roan, learning it’s lesson quickly. Her brown eyes scouring the empty meadow around her, she wasn’t at all surprised to see a handsome, tall dappled stallion standing a few yards away from her. He had obviously seen the situation go down between her and the critter, yet she didn’t mind. In fact, she hoped it impressed him to know that she could defend herself quite well on her own. With a snort in his direction, inviting him over to her and not at the same time, she dropped her chiseled head and lipped the grass underneath her lithe legs.

Indentation The little mare had found herself in a grove, surrounded by densely thick trees, and a spacious opening in the center to reveal some sunlight. Though she was at a disadvantage due to her sight and the fact that she had basically trapped herself, she knew she was small enough to shove through the trees if she needed to escape a predator or a stallion. Only being able to see change in sunlight and outline of figures, she knew she had a rough life to live ahead of her, but the benefit was that it heightened her hearing and sense of smell. Jupiter’s leopard coat flickered against the touch of flies, rubbing her flank up against a gnarled oak tree to familiarize herself with the plant, helping her set up an image of the grove in her mind. Once she was comfortable with her surroundings, she tensed as the smell of a stallion wafted into her grove. He was moving fast, and in her general direction. Leaping backwards as he entered the cove, her lips tightened, nostrils flared, ears pinned, and head arched as she leaned back, prepared to bolt if she came under the assumption that he was a threat.

Indentation Grinding grass between her teeth, she was not so delicate or gentle as she feasted on the greenery that surrounded her. She’d occasionally tear up clumps of dirt with her food, making her toss her head in a ridiculous fashion to remove it. If she was unsuccessful, she’d eat what she could and then fling the remaining to the side and continue to mow down the shrubs. Her right shoulder dipped into the shadow as she swung her hips to the side, letting one side fall under the shade and her other revealed to the sun, comfortable enough for her as it was. The sunshine revealed chunks of her winter coat that had still not been removed, around the base of her stomach, and her fetlocks where her feathering was slowly beginning to whiten out over the rainy winter. Her head rose curiously as she noticed a dark figure moving in her perephrial vision. Soon aware that it was a stallion, she lowered her head once more. He could approach her if he was interested, she wasn’t in dire need of attention at the moment.

Indentation Her color was not as noticeable as others, yet she still radiated glory when the sun kissed her silver grulla fur. The white frosting atop her withers, cheeks, rump, and down the center of her neck and chest were still dark, not yet bleaching out to their natural color from the winter. Thankfully she had shed her winter coat already, occasionally turning to nip at her shoulders as the gnats swarmed her. Ears splayed to the side, her eyes were droopy with sleep as her lower lip fell limp, exposing some slightly yellow teeth. Her short nap was comfortable, perfect, just how she wanted it to be, yet irritating at the same time—as the insects wouldn’t leave her alone.
