Jasmine

Grazing beneath a tall tree, Jasmine sighed in pleasure. The warm summer sunlight felt good on her dappled grey coat. The weather was nice - the sun was out and bright, and the blue sky had few clouds. It was beginning to get hotter, though. Grass was plentiful, Jasmine noted as she grazed. Flies gave no mercy - they attacked constantly, making Jasmine's tail a blur of white as it swatted annoying flies while she ate.

Flicking an ear back, Onyx was alert. Mares were around, waiting to be claimed. Onyx didn't exactly want to fight, but he'd do whatever it took. The black Arabian began walking, looking for water. Finding one, he lowered his head and drank, still alert.

Tiger Lily nibbled the bark of a tree, bored. She hoped to see some new things here, instead of cooped up in a truck. She was sweating slightly - the hot weather was taking it's toll. At least autumn would come after summer. Autumn was her favorite season; mild, pretty, relaxing. But first summer had to pass. Snorting, Tiger found a pond and drank eagerly.

The Andalusian shook his mane. Ace was proud of his bloodline, even if he didn't show it. Flagging his tail, Ace called out for mares. Hopefully he would have a herd by autumn, and a big herd if he was lucky. For now, he focused on courting a mare.

Isabelle

Stomping, Isabelle rid herself of aggravating flies. She gazed at the horizon and nearly cloudless sky. Summer was just beginning. Before winter, Isabelle would find a herd. Her odds of survival were much greater in a herd over winter. Now was summer, so she had plenty of time to find a herd.

Talian blinked many times, trying to get a fly out of his eye. The annoying insect wouldn't leave, and began to irritate his eye. Talian frowned with displeasure. Flies were not helpful. The early summer sun stood high in the sky, making shadows behind him.

creamy white hooves attatche to four long stockings, just touching his knees on his for legs, and hocks on his hinds, waded through shallow water, water crashing with each step and splashing over his knees before falling just below his knee before his leg moved forwards again. karlos was a stunning stallion, wearing a rich bay coat, and a naturally short thin mane, depending on the horse, some grew short thin manes, some grew short thick, then there was long and thick, long and thin. as for tails, well, his was as full and thick as anything, it really did perfect his hind end. summer could be difficult, fires were more common, he had succesfully gained eight mares from last spring, and then two more spring just been. but with summer starting, and dry lightning storms, fires blew up everywhere. he was off from his herd, checking no other stallions were close. when he returned, a fire had separated him from his group, his lead mare chose to protect the herd and took off, leaving him without a herd. heart breaking yes, but he had moved on, no sense dwelling on what has happened. with a gentle snort, he continued to walk through the water, not leaving a scent until he reached the bank and was back on grass, moving through the green grass, slowing and pulling a few blades. as he ate the blades he pulled, he played around with his fat pink tongue wrapping it around the grass until swallowing was possible, it was then, the stallion let out a loud whinny, his sides vibrating in time with the sound, it was a neutral whinny, alarming others of his presence, and invitation to mares,
and a simply alarm to other stallions.

vagabond lay calmly on his side in the green grass under a large oak tree. eyes shut, he was in a semi deep sleep. he was in a safe area so wasn't worried about predators, he was able to let his guard down for once. his ears occasionally twitched, as did his nose, lips and sides, bugs irritating his body, grass tickling his skin. after about a good hour or two sleep, the stallion was awoken by a series of whinnies, many herds had been separated in the fire, it had been bad. man had to put a lot of it out. that was about three weeks ago, some bush was still burnt, but most meadows had grown back fresher than ever.

the pinto stallion rolled up onto his stomach and groaned slightly as he brought his front legs out from under him, blinking once at the dust and rubbing his nose against his leg gently to relieve and itch. another groan alarming his body that he was about to stand,
and he hauled himself up, shaking his body loose of the dirt on the ground, and a few leaves that had fallen onto his body, energy regained, the stallion yawned twisting his maw as he stretched the muscles, and looked around for a moment, hearing more whinnies, the stallion instinctively responded, letting out a gentle welcoming bellow.

a tall chunky grullo stallion stood proudly in one of the large meadows, cut off before a forest by a rather dangerous river that only the largest of horses dare to tackle, and even then, the rapids were incredibly dangerous, even in winter, no one dare to walk over that frozen river for it may crack. klaus
flicked his dark ears, backwards and forwards, picking up every little sound, listening to the birds, the wind, the rivers rapids, whinnies in the air, near and far, taking it all in. a closer whinny, sounding like a mare, made the buckskin stallion raise his head, looking for the creator of said whinny, unfound, the stallion decided to announce himself by calling out with a long,
loud whinny, his barrel vibrating to the sound. with a soft snort, the young healthy stallion kicked up his heels, and cantered off,
being young, showing off was what got a mares attention, it was hard to distract a mare from the older males, and it was understandable, older males could protect better than someone of his age or younger, didn't mean he couldn't, just that he didn't stand much chance against older males if challenged. after a bit of a canter, the stallion hit the breaks and spun on a dime, showing his agility and balance, how quickly he could turn could be important, speed was important, you needed it to out run others, but also helped against the stronger brutes of stallions who lacked in the speed department, it meant you could move faster, apply more kicks or bites than said male could.

after a few moments with no reply, he bellowed out again and stood, waiting a reply.

harley, a glorious and rather rare true black mare. true blacks were rarley seen in many horses other than the friesian, equipped with 4 peircing white stockings, reaching half way up her cannon bone on all fours, a big large star and an adorable snip, this tall mare was quite the catch, and my was she beautiful. she stood happily in a quieter meadow, taking it all in, ears flicking as she listened to her surroundings, not in anyway concerned about stallions, her age giving her an advantage around here. ever now and then, her long black ears would flick back, away from the tree in front of her, to a series of whinnies, and while interested, the older mare remained quiet for the time being. allowing other stallions to source her out, she liked to be found, it proved whether a stallion could actually take the time to find a mare rather than scream at the top of his lungs, but to be fair, where is the sense in running around all day looking, when you can call out two or three times and get a response? nevertheless, the mare was in no rush for company.

petrova was a very stubborn, and often cranky mare, she didn't put up with any antics unless from her own foals, and even then there was a limit. all her foals were well disciplined, knew their boundaries and were full of manners and respect, but half of them were also as stubborn and cranky as herself. pilgrim was no exception, however at already two months, he was a troublesome colt, wondering too far, getting into things he shouldn't, misbehaving simply because he could. he'd be an interesting stallion that's for sure, nothing like his half brother klaus. the big chestnut mare watched as her already very tall two month old bay colt was getting into mischief, standing outside a fox hole, waiting for the little red monster to jump out at him. she pinned her ears at her colt and gave a sharp warning snort, telling him to cut it out. he was proving to have little respect for others, and really only respected her. even his sire, who was last seen five weeks ago, he had no respect for, he would kick at his sire, bite him, ignore him. he was going to be quite the arrogant cruel stallion when he was older.. taking after his father, wonderful. petrova wasn't one to step in front of her progeny's choice in life.... they chose their traits over time, whether they liked something or not, she would not mess with what they chose, it was their choice. but in all honesty, she wasn't exactly rainbows and cupcakes herself either.

an ebony mare stood contently, pulling at emerald green blades as she moved, not letting the grass to low before taking a step. pandora was a content mare at worst of times, so any spooky behavior, or irritated behavior, she had a reasonable explanation for it. the tall black mare continued to graze, having slept the morning away, she was lacking interest in company for now, wanting to eat, get her fill.

one whinny grabbed her attention, but it was not long before whoever it came from was gone. with a soft snort, the mare continued to graze, her sides rising and falling with each breath. after a few minutes, the mare, who, was quite a lazy mare, pawed at the ground before folding her knees to the ground and dropping down, looking around for danger before giving out a big sigh of relaxation, closing her eyes and allowing her ears to flick back calmly at any sound that was unusual.

denaria grazed calmly, her thick white tail swaying, occasionally flicking up at her sides as she felt a fly tickle against her body. the little monsters showed no mercy, not giving in to her repeated attempts to swat them away. after a good twenty or so minutes of sitting in the heat of the sun,
the white mare moved towards the shelter of the apsen tree's that trailed along side a shallow, calm flowing river, it was hard to believe this same river, further down turned into aggressive rapids that could swipe away a full grown horse. with a gentle sigh as she flies diminished in the shade to maybe one or two flies pestering around her face, which she was content with coping with, the grey began to relax, on a hot day like today, the mare found no point in running around, best save her energy for out running a stallion she had no intentions of staying with.

raylyn stood by a creek resting, while in the deepest stage of her cycle, she heard no whinnies, so made no attempt to call out incase she simply attracted predators, so instead the pretty roan mare rested a hind leg, occasionally lowering her maw to the ground, contemplation of drinking or eating, before letting out a sigh and lifting her head back up into it's usual position.

the pretty mare startled when something behind her moved, causing her to jump the creek in front of her and spin, seeing a deer and her fawn, just as startled as herself, it probably would have taken off if it weren't for it's young being so new born. perhaps only an hour or two old. which meant it could run, but the doe knew that she, a horse was no threat, and simply moved on her way after relaxing. with another sigh, the mare settled down and returned to her lazy dozing.

Ash's heavy hooves sunk into the soften dirt from the early morning dew, his feathering turning into a darker mix of brown. He honestly didn't mind but he wanted himself presentable in front of mares, to show of course he is responsible enough to at least care for his coat. Though he may have been scary to some small mares, he was quite the opposite.
A complete softy, he's almost too gentle but knows when to be serious with stallions. Especially when they refuse to listen and try to take his mares. He then slowed to a stop, his ears flicked around as he heard the flowing sounds of water rushing through a river.
Sticking his nose to the air he began to smell the sweet taste of the river. Picking up his heavy hooves he began to move forward reaching the river, he slowly stepped into the water feeling the water rush past him but not tough enough to push him even an inch.
Snorting he lowered his head to the cool water getting sips at a time, he allowed the water to clear the dirt from his feather without any effort on his part.

Danny's coat felt warm and cool, the other day trying to snake mares didn't go so well. Even with his experience too many bachelors and an old stallion were enough to beat old Danny. Snorting he watched as his warm breath quickly froze in the air rising before disappearing. Letting a soft snort escape his breath he continued on, feeling the mist in the air surround him with every move. Being quite a healthy and older stallion usually got the attention of mares, but if you stay with a stallion long enough attachments grow which is the fail of Danny boy. He didn't judge them, with all honestly he wanted his future mares to be just like so. He doesn't care for over-confident mares or get in over their heads with the other mares. Beginning to stop he saw nothing, at least no moving thing besides the slight wind blowing the leaves among the trees. Lowering his head he began to grab clumps of grass with dew among them in the morning.

With each step her body swayed from one side to another, she wasn't exactly a fancy light show horse. She had muscle but she was also quite big along with her being a tad shorter than others for her breed. She never gave much attitude unless a mare challenged her or they simply began to push her buttons. As she grew older she got the consequences for being rude to older mares and now it was her turn. Though she was getting quite old she knew these grassy plains better than any creature, especially those two legged things trying to pretend their horses. Whisper picked her hooves up as she trotted across the flat grassy plains, eventually ending up at the top of a small hill overlooking some things. But she saw no horses nearby, not even a stallion. Though when she trotted she may have seemed proud or even in over her head, but really she was a shy mare who almost never said no, and her favorite thing of all just happened to be foals. Slowly she walked down the hill, having nothing to do really she thought to head to a nearby water source.
In other words a pond nearby, though she liked to come early before the herds began to move in. She never liked it when stallions began to snake her, in fact she hated it but always to nice to speak up. Flicking her tail she lowered her head grabbing grass clumps along with morning dew, slowly with each bite she moved towards the direction of the pond.

Arrow hung her head evenly as she walked around what seemed to be endlessly. Though she was a keep to herself mare, she had her reason but no one's cared to ask the mare. Beginning a two-legged's mount wasn't the best time of her life, but neither was herd life. She came to her senses eventually choosing herd life over bridles and bits, even those weird things they poke her with that grows on their feet. Snorting she shoved the thought out of her mind, she had better things to do, such as survive. The wild was constant survival even when many think survival means cougars and predators, but it meant more than that.
It meant finding food and water, fighting to keep ranks among herds, dealing with ornery stallion when they don't give up. Which honestly the mare has been through all, though the cougar didn't put up a fight she got a bit to close to her den of cubs.

Ajax-bachelor stallion-11 years-tags;open
Ajax shakes his head a bit, his still soft mane falling effortlessly over his face. His sky clue eyes scanning the area before he leans down to get a mouthful of the dark green grass. After having a good amount, he trots over to a stream he knew well at this point, it had been a little bit since he ran and he had gotten to know the area better. He slowly makes his way to the water source then lowers his head and drinks from the cool stream. This was his ideal place, a small cluster of trees for shade, a lovely stream that ends in a lake large enough for him to wade, but shallow enough he doesn't need to swim. He had made the choice to stay in this area, perhaps even start a herd.

Nyx - loner mare - 12 years - tags; open-heat stage two
Nyx raises her head from her meal, she had been lucky enough to find some good grass and the shade of some trees. She thought she'd gotten so lucky..until she heard something nearby. It was barking (not aggressive barking, more like "Wow! Look at that!")the ebony mare tosses her curled mane, letting out a distressed cry. She hadn't seen one of these before, would it eat her?

Vance- bachelor stallion - 14 years - tags;open, just needing a mare for him to speak to~
Vane gives the area around him a look of boredom. He didn't realize how lonely running off would be. He gives a snort and leans down to eat, until his eyes catch sight of a mare. He trots over to her.

Sofia - lone mare - 12 years -tags; open-heat stage one
Sofia raises her head, she panicked for a moment, then remembered why she was no longer at home. She gives a soft grunt of effort and she stands. She gives a small snort of disdain at the flies that were biting her, she whips her cream colored tail, pleased to see she'd eliminated a few.

creamy white hooves attatche to four long stockings, just touching his knees on his for legs, and hocks on his hinds, waded through shallow water, water crashing with each step and splashing over his knees before falling just below his knee before his leg moved forwards again. karlos was a stunning stallion, wearing a rich bay coat, and a naturally short thin mane, depending on the horse, some grew short thin manes, some grew short thick, then there was long and thick, long and thin. as for tails, well, his was as full and thick as anything, it really did perfect his hind end. summer could be difficult, fires were more common, he had succesfully gained eight mares from last spring, and then two more spring just been. but with summer starting, and dry lightning storms, fires blew up everywhere. he was off from his herd, checking no other stallions were close. when he returned, a fire had separated him from his group, his lead mare chose to protect the herd and took off, leaving him without a herd. heart breaking yes, but he had moved on, no sense dwelling on what has happened. with a gentle snort, he continued to walk through the water, not leaving a scent until he reached the bank and was back on grass, moving through the green grass, slowing and pulling a few blades. as he ate the blades he pulled, he played around with his fat pink tongue wrapping it around the grass until swallowing was possible, it was then, the stallion let out a loud whinny, his sides vibrating in time with the sound, it was a neutral whinny, alarming others of his presence, and invitation to mares,
and a simply alarm to other stallions.

he moved out of the area after no replies and continued walking. almost reaching the tree line when he spotted a bay pinto mare,
he watched calmly for a moment, seeing where she was standing, and after a moment grew closer, nickering softly to alert her of his presence. seeing as she herself was moving closer to him, having not yet noticed him, he came to a stop and simply waited patiently for a response and reply.

vagabond lay calmly on his side in the green grass under a large oak tree. eyes shut, he was in a semi deep sleep. he was in a safe area so wasn't worried about predators, he was able to let his guard down for once. his ears occasionally twitched, as did his nose, lips and sides, bugs irritating his body, grass tickling his skin. after about a good hour or two sleep, the stallion was awoken by a series of whinnies, many herds had been separated in the fire, it had been bad. man had to put a lot of it out. that was about three weeks ago, some bush was still burnt, but most meadows had grown back fresher than ever.

the pinto stallion rolled up onto his stomach and groaned slightly as he brought his front legs out from under him, blinking once at the dust and rubbing his nose against his leg gently to relieve and itch. another groan alarming his body that he was about to stand,
and he hauled himself up, shaking his body loose of the dirt on the ground, and a few leaves that had fallen onto his body, energy regained, the stallion yawned twisting his maw as he stretched the muscles, and looked around for a moment, hearing more whinnies, the stallion instinctively responded, letting out a gentle welcoming bellow.

after a while, he spots a silver dapple mare, her glorious chocolate coat matched nicely against creamy silver mane, he watched her carefully as she panicked for a moment, which made him look around to see what had upset the mare, seeing nothing he frowned then looked back to her curiously, before nickering to the chocolate mare, alerting her of his presence.

klaus had his attention stolen when that of a young mare called out in reply to his previous whinny.the grullo stallion watched the mare curiously as she stood still watching him, watching her. after a moment or so, the young stallion threw his head up in the air with another loud whinny before transitioning into a elevated canter, placing each leg carefully as he moved up the hill towards the mare, while young the stallion was full of manners, and slowed well before he reached her, turning fractionally away from her until he was at a dead stop. when he was still, he let his big brown eyes fall onto the mare, while she was young, she was not to be fiddled with, he was young himself, and while he was more equipped to handle these grounds what with being a few years older, and the mustang within his warmblood breeding, he knew better than to be rude, or snake unnecessarily.

he judged her carefully and then slowly approached, looking at her chestnut coat, a foal from himself and her would result in a series of bays, from, blood bays to red bays to rich bays like himself. chestnut would be highly unlikely with his genes being the stronger of the two biologically. as he grew closer he noted the scrapes over her body, ruffled fur and a few grazes, nothing more than he had himself. all horses had it, from rolling over rocks or twigs, running under trees, or walking through rivers where sticks ran, all those normal scrapes and marks that were no problem to the horse physically, just might sting as it happens. he twitched his nose and stretched out to her, taking in her scent, aware she was not deep enough to play games or be straight to the point. but, while he didn't really see her as the running type, didn't mean she wouldn't.

harley, a glorious and rather rare true black mare. true blacks were rarley seen in many horses other than the friesian, equipped with 4 peircing white stockings, reaching half way up her cannon bone on all fours, a big large star and an adorable snip, this tall mare was quite the catch, and my was she beautiful. she stood happily in a quieter meadow, taking it all in, ears flicking as she listened to her surroundings, not in anyway concerned about stallions, her age giving her an advantage around here. ever now and then, her long black ears would flick back, away from the tree in front of her, to a series of whinnies, and while interested, the older mare remained quiet for the time being. allowing other stallions to source her out, she liked to be found, it proved whether a stallion could actually take the time to find a mare rather than scream at the top of his lungs, but to be fair, where is the sense in running around all day looking, when you can call out two or three times and get a response? nevertheless, the mare was in no rush for company.

it was then something walking through water stole her attention, the mare raised her refined face and looked to the river near by,
watching calmly as a tall dark stallion much like herself, the ebony mare watched calmly, but not desperate for attention, didn't make a sound, although against this green grass, if looked in her direction, he'd spot her easily, she wasn't far off anyway. he very well may have already smelt her. she watched the dark stallion calmly, looking for faults you might say, for now, she saw none.

petrova was a very stubborn, and often cranky mare, she didn't put up with any antics unless from her own foals, and even then there was a limit. all her foals were well disciplined, knew their boundaries and were full of manners and respect, but half of them were also as stubborn and cranky as herself. pilgrim was no exception, however at already two months, he was a troublesome colt, wondering too far, getting into things he shouldn't, misbehaving simply because he could. he'd be an interesting stallion that's for sure, nothing like his half brother klaus. the big chestnut mare watched as her already very tall two month old bay colt was getting into mischief, standing outside a fox hole, waiting for the little red monster to jump out at him. she pinned her ears at her colt and gave a sharp warning snort, telling him to cut it out. he was proving to have little respect for others, and really only respected her. even his sire, who was last seen five weeks ago, he had no respect for, he would kick at his sire, bite him, ignore him. he was going to be quite the arrogant cruel stallion when he was older.. taking after his father, wonderful. petrova wasn't one to step in front of her progeny's choice in life.... they chose their traits over time, whether they liked something or not, she would not mess with what they chose, it was their choice. but in all honesty, she wasn't exactly rainbows and cupcakes herself either.

an ebony mare stood contently, pulling at emerald green blades as she moved, not letting the grass to low before taking a step. pandora was a content mare at worst of times, so any spooky behavior, or irritated behavior, she had a reasonable explanation for it. the tall black mare continued to graze, having slept the morning away, she was lacking interest in company for now, wanting to eat, get her fill.

one whinny grabbed her attention, but it was not long before whoever it came from was gone. with a soft snort, the mare continued to graze, her sides rising and falling with each breath. after a few minutes, the mare, who, was quite a lazy mare, pawed at the ground before folding her knees to the ground and dropping down, looking around for danger before giving out a big sigh of relaxation, closing her eyes and allowing her ears to flick back calmly at any sound that was unusual.

denaria grazed calmly, her thick white tail swaying, occasionally flicking up at her sides as she felt a fly tickle against her body. the little monsters showed no mercy, not giving in to her repeated attempts to swat them away. after a good twenty or so minutes of sitting in the heat of the sun,
the white mare moved towards the shelter of the apsen tree's that trailed along side a shallow, calm flowing river, it was hard to believe this same river, further down turned into aggressive rapids that could swipe away a full grown horse. with a gentle sigh as she flies diminished in the shade to maybe one or two flies pestering around her face, which she was content with coping with, the grey began to relax, on a hot day like today, the mare found no point in running around, best save her energy for out running a stallion she had no intentions of staying with.

raylyn stood by a creek resting, while in the deepest stage of her cycle, she heard no whinnies, so made no attempt to call out incase she simply attracted predators, so instead the pretty roan mare rested a hind leg, occasionally lowering her maw to the ground, contemplation of drinking or eating, before letting out a sigh and lifting her head back up into it's usual position.

the pretty mare startled when something behind her moved, causing her to jump the creek in front of her and spin, seeing a deer and her fawn, just as startled as herself, it probably would have taken off if it weren't for it's young being so new born. perhaps only an hour or two old. which meant it could run, but the doe knew that she, a horse was no threat, and simply moved on her way after relaxing. with another sigh, the mare settled down and returned to her lazy dozing.

Ash rose his head as he began to pick up a smell, his dark brown eyes began looking around, but it didn't take him long to spot a stunning black mare grazing not too far off. Before anything he immediately knew this mare had spotted him before he did her, slowly his picked up his heavy hooves carrying them out of the rushing cold water. His feathering now clear of most of the dry dirt that hung around, but now soaking wet would just pick up more dirt along the way. Shaking the though he moved slowly towards the mare but stopping a distance giving her space, or even time to take off if she pleased. Huffing out air,
he allowed a sweet sounding nicker come out of his throat into the air towards the black mare's presence. Wanting permission to come over before invading her space making her really mad.

    PONA
Time Ages On Mare Mustang 18 Years Stallion: none Heat Stage: 2 Tags: Open

Epona's once beautiful clean bright coat was now damp, darkened and began to develop knots in her tail. Snorting she cleared her thoughts as she stood relaxed, but her brown eyes surveyed the area around her looking for any horse nearby. She honestly started to grow a bit lonely and definitely bored.

    HISPER
Whispering Of A Dream Mare Arabian x Standardbred 7 Years Stallion: none Heat Stage: 1 Tags: Ace

Whisper's hooves began to look dark than her light colored original ones, the mud being the cause of it all. Letting out a small huff of air she finally reached the pond, but she maintained her filly side slowly walking over. Steady she walked into the pond, feeling the mud beneath her as her hooves sank in. Lowering her head she began taking sips from the cool water, though the water was getting warmer as the sun rose from the horizon. Her ears then rushed behind her hearing a whinny,
her head shot up looking at a white stallion standing behind her. Looking around she saw no other bachelors nearby or mares, so she gave a friendly nicker to the stallion allowing him to come closer. Flicking her tail it slid across the top of the water, the flies were annoying this time of year and she absolutely hated it.

    RROW
Broken Arrow Mare Mustang 6 Years Stallion: none Heat Stage: 1 Tags: Karlos

Arrow's head shot up at the sound of a nicker quite close, her ears became fully alert as she realized she was moving towards a stallion without being aware of his presence. Standing there she let moments pass as she analyzed the stallion. She honestly had no interest in joining a herd but maybe the stallion would convince her otherwise. He had a handsome looking coat, as if he had just been brushed by the two leggeds. Softly snorting she had stood straight and tall, basically showing he wasn't going to push her around, period. Though it wasn't like her she was getting tired of being alone, so she let out a nicker it wasn't soft and sweet but not threatening just testing.

❝ SIGUR ❞

( Mare | Thirteen ) ( Stallion: n/a ) ( Status: Stage One ) ( Tags: Sýn, Draugur )

Hushed; tranquil. Sigur always savored the precious hours she was able to spend on her own. The leaves swayed in a gentle breeze overhead, birds humming their enchanting melodies, perched high in the branches above. The phlegmatic mare rested, content, beneath the proud oak, happy with the silence that enveloped her. Herd life did not displease her; she was built for it, build for the shifting hierarchy and struggle for survival and ever desperate spats for dominance, but ever since she was young Sigur had harbored a passion for time spent in the solitary, left with nothing but the wind and the clouds and her own thoughts. Soon, however, the desperate cry of her young daughter lingering in the distance disturbed the palomino's peace. Irritated with the attention the younger mare was sure to attract, Sigur pinned her delicate ears against her head and trotted forward, placing a mean nip to the tovero's hip and shoving her muzzle into her side, pushing her forward. Sigur would drive her daughters until they grew too tired to seek out any stallion, hopefully buying at least one more day without such trouble.

❝ SYN ❞

( Mare | Three ) ( Stallion: n/a ) ( Status: Stage Four ) ( Tags: Sigur, Draugur )

Sýn blew out a heavy snort, lashing her heavy white tail against velvet hips before throwing her soft muzzle into the air with a loud, reckless call that reverberated off surrounding hills to be sure her message was heard. She wanted the attention of a stallion, and she wanted it this very moment. Ordinarily, Sýn shared her mothers 'composed unless provoked' demeanor, hiding behind a solemn mask, though at the peak of her estrous cycle she was anything but. Enthralled with her own quest, the young mare did not notice an angry mother approach until a harsh, stinging bite landed on her hip, driving her forward. Sýn let out a second, this time angry, screech and kicked out with one hind leg before rocketing off into the distance with ears pinned back, uncaring if her long-time companions were at her heels.

❝ DRAUGUR ❞

( Mare | Ten ) ( Stallion: n/a ) ( Status: Stage Three ) ( Tags: Sigur, Sýn )

Dark head jerked up in surprise as an impatient cry filled the still air, and Draugur turned her curious gaze upon her young half-sister. Usually, it was Draugur herself who started such a ruckus, irritating her mother and in truth, all other companions, to absolutely no end. Such behavior from the usually calm and collected little mare caught the blue roan off guard, however, she was no stranger to the frustration that came with being devoid of a stallion's attention. When her mother came circling around to drive her off after an angry Sýn she did not protest; fate had left her in the company of her mother for so much longer than what was deemed normal, and obeying the mare had become more natural than breathing dispute Draugur's strong urge to always step out of line. The white-spattered mare picked up a trot after her sister, even though she knew just was well as her mother that the traveling trio was practically a blaring siren to surrounding stallions, and they were sure to be discovered.

❝ VITUR ❞

( Mare | Seventeen ) ( Stallion: n/a ) ( Status: Stage Two ) ( Tags: n/a )

Pale blue eyes gleamed in the light of day, looking to be made of molten silver the way they shimmered. The aging cremello mare stood rigid among the tall grasses, irritated with the warm weather and endless amounts of flies that always found their way to her sides. Even her tail was still now; seeming to be a statue made of alabaster abandoned in a lonely field. She had been here, in this spot, in this position, for many hours now. Waiting. The calls of stallions filled the air, and while Vitur was keen to find a herd to replace her last, not just any would do. She was too old and too stubborn now to once again get stuck with a foolish, arrogant young stallion. No, only a creature of strength and exprience would win her this time.

❝ ELSKAN ❞

( Mare | Five ) ( Stallion: n/a ) ( Status: Stage Four ) ( Tags: n/a )

The young spotted mare tossed her head with a gentle, sweet whinny, flicking her thick multi-colored tail from side to side in the hopes of attracting a stallion. Elskan had never been shy about the fact that she despised being alone, without the protection of a stallion and the guidance of a wise old lead, and being so deep in heat only made her even more frantic to find a new herd. She was a pushover, and she needed that structure and security to survive, the little mare simply couldn't make it on her own, nor did she have any desire to try. One more call fled rubbery lips as ears twitched, alert, atop her head, eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of life.

❝ DREYMA ❞

( Mare | Eight ) ( Stallion: n/a ) ( Status: Stage Two ) ( Tags: n/a )

text (ahh she was the last one and i was tired, but feel free to bump into her still)

❝ VISKI ❞

( Mare | Nine ) ( Stallion: n/a ) ( Status: Stage One ) ( Tags: Fallegur )

Viskí pinned her ears, lashing her thick black tail as she shoved her muzzle against her older sisters' flank to drive her in a wide arc around a small herd that stood in their path, snaking the small appaloosa out of sight of the stallion that the young bay, obstinate and recalcitrant as she was, had no interest in being near. She grew more and more irritated by the day, knowing Fallegur was growing eager for the company of a stallion seeing as she was near the deepest stage of her heat cycle, but Viskí truly wanted nothing to do with another stallion, not yet. It seemed, however, that her sister had decided it was high time for such a change. The bay jerked her head to the side, snapping the air around Fallegur's face angrily as she let out a sweet call to draw attention to pair. Viskí was untrusting at the best of times, and now was not one of them. Shoving her muzzle against her older sister's hip without care she forced her into moving once more, snipping angrily and her haunches whenever she dared slow.

❝ FALLEGUR ❞

( Mare | Eleven ) ( Stallion: n/a ) ( Status: Stage Three ) ( Tags: Viskí )

Fallegur let out a frustrated snort as her grazing was disturbed by an ever restive Viskí, growing weary of the younger mares' untrusting and demanding demeanor. She wasn't always so difficult, but it had been a more than stressful few months, and the bay was always more obdurate during the earlier stages of her heat. Being the rather submissive creature that she was, however, Fallegur allowed herself to be driven well out of the way of the small herd that Viskí had labeled a threat. As they eased to a walk when her sister felt a safe distance had been put between them and the herd, the gentle mare came to the decision that enough was enough; it was well time for them to find a new herd. It meant safety, and as much as she cared for her stubborn sister, Viskí was not enough. She let a soft, sweet call ring out from her velvet maw, eyes reminiscent of melted caramel scanning the horizon for a stallion to take them in. Viskí seemed to be quite displeased with this sudden disobedience, though, and quickly leapt into action, driving the appaloosa from her spot.
