does it make a big difference if a Store Pet is rare vs VR?

Just wondering if a rare Store Pet is worth similar to a VR store pet, since you generally pay 20 C$ for both? Or is their values different because more people decided to adopt one? But then does that mean it has more demand?

Ironically if a store pet is rare, it means it has really high demand.
The raven dog was our first rare store pet, bought for the exact same amount as its littermate, the patchwork dog. Yet it still remains "worth" more. So for store pets, what rarity tag it has means very little.

Yeah, a rare store pet and a VR store pet from the same litter are worth the exact same. It means nothing in terms of rarity. (:
