How to make a word as in "this" a link?

Hi! I have a small problem. I don't know how to make a word into a link.
Like, when people have an auction and they're showing their offers/bids, they say "Bid #1" and the word is blue and underlined, and you can click on it and it brings you to the bid.
How would I be able to do that? Please help! Thanks!

You can also make an image into a link by putting

[url=LINK HERE][img]IMAGE%20URL%20HERE[/img][/url]

Get the link you want, in this case I'm linking to this thread, like so: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3469934

You want to take the URL tags ([url][/url]) and, inside the first tag after "url" add an equal symbol (=), so it looks like this:

Now all you have to do is paste your link after the "=", like this:

[url=http://www.chickensmoothie.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3469934][/url]

And to add in your text, just put whatever you want to say between the tags. For example, I want that link above to say "Link", so I just put that between the tags:

Which comes out to:
Link

Extra tip, you can also put images there instead of words (that's how people make stamps)
