How do you change a poll on a thread?

I want to change a poll on my adoption center thread, but when I put in the new information and submitted it, it said the poll had ended. I set it for 20 days.. ?

Note that if you modify a poll the votes will usually reset. Not sure if that happens when you update the length but it will if you edit options.
