Chamelot Adoptables - litter 6 & code drop

Welcome!

What's up for adoption here? Why, chameleons, of course! We have a wide variety of veiled chameleons from all over the globe, sold here in our lovely pet store, Chamelot. It's clever, because Camelot is... nevermind.

Each batch of chameleons contains a range of unique creatures that all need a loving home; if you snatch one in time, you can put it in your Signature and show it off to all of your friends!

Please take the time to look at the rules. If you want, you can also look through the archives at past pets, check through the news for important updates, and look for games and ways to win amazing prizes! :3

Chamelot Adoptables was opened in August, 2011, but after the death of Sumashira's chameleon, Furcifer, Chamelot Adoptables was closed in April 2012. Inspired again, Suma and her friend Skye decided to reopen to continue to hone their art skills.

New batches are released evey Thursday! The code drop is done the night before.

Chamelot Adoptables used to be a first-come-first-serve adoption center, but after these several years of hiatus other methods were found, the favorite being raffling off with random.org!

New batches will be added every Thursday, and the winners of the previous batch will be posted the night before.

Suma and Skye are both in PST (Pacific Standard Time), which is 7 hours ahead of Chicken Smoothie (GMT). They will try to get new batches up on a pretty consistent schedule, but please be understanding if they're a little late or early! When they post won't affect your ability to get a chameleon.

Rules!

Don't steal any of the designs on the thread.

All of these pictures belong to me, and if you try to steal them and claim them as your own, I shall eat your face. D:<

Don't spam.

Spam is when you post one letter, one word, or unrelated comments on the thread. It gets annoying and makes me have to scold you, and I don't wanna do that. Commenting on how a batch of chameleons looks or saying how excited you are isn't spam; feel free to keep the love and excitement flowing!

Don't ask when the next litter is coming out.

Unfortunately, as we all know, life can be pretty hectic, so batches may be sporadic in both size and frequency; however, there will always be a chameleon for major holidays, so watch out for those!

Don't ask to be an artist or a mod.

If and when I need an extra hand around here, I'll put something up in the news section (here) letting you all know.

Fill out the forms and don't complain if you don't get the chameleon you want.

There will always be other chameleons, so just be patient and be excited for everyone else. Sportsmanship and whatnot!

Do not modify the form once you've posted it!

If you modify the form to adopt a chameleon or take part in a competition then you automatically forfeit and the chameleon is up for grabs. You may, however, post again with the correct form, but you may not post twice in a row; let someone post between your posts.

If you change your username, please let me know!

You can do this via PM or by stating in your form what your old username is and what your new one is. I'll keep it updated as best as I can. This helps keep everything nice and tidy, and hopefully keep it from getting too cluttered and confusing.

Thursday, April 28 - Surprise! There's a new litter for reopening, and tonight the official first litter will be up.

A new batch of chameleons will be available every Thursday, and any number of chameleons will be put up - there will also always be a batch on major holidays! Next up is Thursday June 9, so pop in then!

The chameleons are released on a raffle basis so that everyone has a fair chance of getting one; you can only apply for one from each batch. Every batch has a key word that you need to fill in, so don't forget it. You're not allowed to edit the form once you post it.

Customs have been long awaited here at Chamelot Adoptables, and why not? Chameleons can be all sorts of colors and wear all sorts of snazzy decorations, so here they are, finally! I figure that Skye and I'll be taking up to five custom requests at a time, so be patient and wait for your turn! :3

"What can I get on my chameleon?"

We have an amazingly wide variety of items... well, I actually have to create more items, so just be patient. For now, you can get one item from each category (click it for a preview) below, and they each work with either lineart:

Not only can I do these things, but I can also add pretty much any accessory you'd like, so long as I have a good reference to work off of. ^^

"How much does it cost?"

Custom chameleons are only worth about two or three common or uncommon non-Wishlist pets, or one uncommon Wishlist pet. It's up to the artist, but this is mostly done for fun, so price isn't the main thing!

"How do I order a custom chameleon?"

Space / Planets, Nature, and Scenery were the three most wanted options, followed by Animals, and then Colors. No other categories received votes.

It seems like either people don't care what size they are or prefer them as this smaller size, so I'm glad we made the right choice!

"How many chameleons am I allowed to adopt?"

I have no limit, actually. Eventually I'll put a cap on (like if I notice the old customers are preventing the acceptance of new customers), but for now, the only limit is that you can take one from each batch.

"Can I take my chameleon off of CS?"

Of course you can. Just don't claim the art as your own, modify where the link on the chameleon leads to, or modify the art in any way. Credit me and respect my baby chameleons and you'll be fine.

"Did you draw these yourself?"

Unfortunately, no, I'm not that good. I traced around pictures of my own chameleon, Furcifer, and then colored according to my every whim. You can check my DeviantArt to see the original images.

"Can I be a guest artist?"

I'm not currently looking for artists, sorry! If I notice that you run your own adoptables or are an artist in an adoptables thread and I like what I see, I'll ask if you'd be interested in making a guest batch, but you can not ask me.

"How do I get my site into your links section?"

It's actually quite simple; just PM me with a link to your site and / or a banner for your site and I'll put it into the links section. I have to be able to find our stamp / affiliation banner up on your site. Make sure it's CS appropriate; I will check.

"Can I make fan art?"

I'd love if you did! I may display any fan art in the Links section.

"Does the pink chameleon in the title of each section have a name?"

Not really. For all intents and purposes, I shall name it after my own veiled chameleon, Furcifer.

"What font do you use in the title of each section?"

It's called Jenna Sue and can be downloaded for free from daFont.com here!

"How can you have an FAQ if nobody's asked questions yet?"

... It's the magic of chameleons?

"What do chameleons eat?"

Generally, chameleons eat a variety of insects (flies, fruit flies, waxworms, mealworms, crickets, grasshoppers) and vegetables such as mustard and collard greens. I've been told that they eat fruit, but I haven't found a fruit that my chameleon likes yet.

"What sort of habitat does a chameleon live in?"

In order to keep a chameleon happy and fulfill its lifetime needs, they need a high humidity cage (they're a tropical animal), several different heat sources (a UVB light helps keep them from getting bone diseases), and lots of foliage and things to climb on and hide in. They're shy.
