Riversong has been part of Blood Moon pack since she was born. As a pup, she adored the King Alpha and admired everything about him. After he passed away, her best friend, Shadowmist, the Alpha's only heir, as slowly started taking over Blood Moon pack while she mourns the loss of her father who was taken much too soon. Riversong has plenty of faith that Shadowmist will be every bit as great as a Queen Alpha as her father and grandfather before her. However, despite being her best friend, she does have some minor doubts about the beginning of her reign. Currently, Shadowmist is not only the youngest wolf to have ever succeeded to both Alpha and Queen Alpha positions. In addition to this, Shadowmist is the first female Alpha within their kingdom for, according to stories, centuries. As a female Alpha, Shadowmist will have to fulfill the role of pack Alpha and pack Luna, doubling a usual workload, while grieving her father’s death and finishing up her last few months of Alpha Academy before she can even become a full-fledged Alpha. For these reasons, Riversong has some concerns that it may take Shadowmist a little while to be able to fully step up to the role. Even with these concerns, Riversong knows Shadowmist will rise to the task, as every heir does, and become the best leader she can be once she is fully coronated.

Blood Moon pack has a vast amount of territory and within the pack’s territory, there are numerous different biomes. In other words, Blood Moon pack is home to a variety of species in terms of plants and other animals. Sometimes, this is a blessing and a curse. Often, our hunters come home with a large supply of food, even during the winter, to keep the bellies of our wolves full. Usually, prey ranges from small birds, rabbits, fish from the river, and other rodents. Occasionally, on larger hunts, our hunting party will return with an elk, deer, or even an entire moose! There aren’t very many predators to such a prime and proper carnivore as a wolf, much less when the wolves are as large as a pack as Blood Moon has grown to be over time. In some instances, there have been a small few skirmishes between our wolves and the local grizzly and black bears. Usually, these instances are with mama bears protecting their cubs as often the wolves and bears live pretty symbiotically in the area. Often, pack medicine wolves work paw-in-paw with some of the bears to find herbs and treatments for illnesses. Given our pack is very in tune with the Mother Wolf (mother nature), we try to live peacefully with all creatures and plant life around us. After a fresh hunt, we will even pray to thank Mother Wolf for blessing our pack with the ability to care for ourselves with her creation.

Just as many packs do, Blood Moon has quite a few artifacts from over the years that have been passed down within the pack since the very creation of the pack itself. Of these prized possessions, one stands out more than the others. Often considered to be the most valuable and prized object to ever exist within pack walls. What is the item you may ask? Well, they are jewels. Jewels as blood red as the finest rubies you’d ever have the luxury of laying your eyes on. These rubies are used to adorn the crown, or in our current reign, the tiara of the King Alpha. The crown only ever being worn for the specialist of occasions and royal events! There are many rumors as to how our very first King Alpha came about these rubies, but the story that seems to hold the most truth is quite simple to be told…Centuries ago, a lone black wolf, Shadowstar, began to spark a change in the way of wolf life and eventually gained a following. Over time, these wolves started traditions, raising pups with mates, and claimed territories, all while looking up to their new alpha, creating the very first wolf pack. As time went on, the wolves felt a connection to the moon. Celebrating her phases and qualities enough to host festivities during the major changes. One night, on the night of the first blood moon, after Shadowstar had been proclaimed leader, a mysterious celestial she-wolf appeared to the great leader. She identified herself as Lykaia, the First Wolf ever known. She prided Shadowstar in his ability to bring her species together as one and gifted the alpha and his bloodline with powerful gifts to be used only for the good of their pack. Before she left, she provided the wolves with the blessing to continue their path as long as they worshipped her as their Moon Goddess. Once she left, in her place was a small pile of rubies as red as the blood moon itself. From this night, Shadowstar was able to give his new pack a name and start the many traditions still followed today by his ancestors.
