what are highland tracker collies / htcs?

highland tracker collies are a user-made adoptable (UMA) run by me, rem sleep, and originally
created by The Cure - who made the both the default and vintage lineart sets! they are a
species of collie dogs bred for tracking and hunting small game, but more than that, they
are adorable canine companions suitable for any signature or profile page. while htcs are
based on realistic collies, you will find many of them are very fantastical and sparkly, while
others hardly resemble collies at all! ultimately, they are more or less very cute pixel dogs
that are meant to bring a little happiness to those who are fortunate enough to own one.

you will find here at highland tracker collies that we're much more interested in cute dogs
than realistic species genetics and lore, but you are welcome to develop your collies however
you like! whatever it is that speaks to you, whether it's cute lil doggos or a more realistic angle,
all are welcome here to enjoy funny pixel pets.

they were originally classified as retired, but they
have since been removed from retirement and will
be available for some adoptables and through items.

1. highland tracker collies are a first-come-first-served (FCFS) adoptable!
this means that whoever posts the correct form first will receive that collie.

2. you may only adopt a maximum of one free collie and one shop collie every 12 hours.
this is to give everyone a fair chance at adopting a collie.

3. you must make a post on the co-op archive to participate in the UMA.
though you may also store your collies in a toyhou.se or character thread, having a co-op post is still required.

4. you must put a number in your adoption form!
forms that say 'any that are open' / 'any that are left' are not valid forms and will not be approved, sorry!

5. your form must have the current / correct code word to adopt
if you have the wrong code word in your litter adoption form, you will be denied, sorry!

6. editing your adoption post in any way is not allowed!
please do not edit your post. you may quote it and post again if something in your form is incorrect, or if you
would like to swap numbers, but you cannot edit the original post or you will be disqualified from adopting that litter.

7. you may only swap numbers once!
sometimes after you've claimed a collie you realize you claimed the wrong one. no big deal! you can quote your form
to correct it and say you'd like to swap to a different number. you may only do this once per litter though to prevent confusion!please be sure you are only posting to claim collies you really want.

8. do not put your collie in your archive until the litter code post is made.
a lot of confusing things can happen when a litter goes up for adoption, so please make sure you got the collie you
wanted before adding them to your archive! the litter code post will say who got what collie for sure.

9. images of your collie may not be edited in any way! please do not edit your collie's original image.
you may use items in the shop to have edits applied to your collie. you may use your collie's original image as a reference when ordering or making art, and you may develop your collie as an original character, but please do not edit the original image yourself. edits to collies may only be done by artists!

10. there may be special collie adoption opportunities on discord, as well as notifications of when litters will be going up!

11. please do not ask to be staff, or ask when staff opportunities will be available.
I will post notifying everyone when staff applications are open / when I am looking for more staff!

12. insulting an artist's/staff member's work is strictly prohibited. please be respectful!

13. if it is discovered that you are using an alternate account to adopt more collies, you will be banned.

14. if you are banned, you may transfer out, gift away, or send your collies to me to be re-adopted out.

15. accounts that are less than 2 months old may not adopt a collie.

16. you may trade your collie for other UMAs if you so choose.
you may also trade them for art, collie coins, paw points, or other characters!

17. you may not resell your collie unless you paid for them.
you may not sell your collie for more than you originally paid unless there is additional artwork.

18. violation of the rules will result in one strike each time.
if you accumulate three strikes you will be banned from the UMA.

19. all cs rules still apply.

20. and finally, have fun!
this UMA is meant to be casual and enjoyable for all, so please be kind and remember this rule.

the code post is up, the trickster is revealed, and some raffles are live!

additionally, base color-ins have been added to the paw point stand as an option for y'all over there,
and to make gifting art of collies easier a new 'gift art' tab has been added to the HTC co-op archive!
if you would like other users to make gift art of your collies for paw points, be sure to go add the new
gift art tab to your archive so other users know whether it is ok to draw your collies, or whether you
would prefer they didn't!

more updates are coming soon! i'm hoping to add more items and work on another litter for release < 3
when more litters have been released i'm going to flesh out breeding and the customs shack!

this allows you to change your collie's tail to any of the standard types
seen at the top of the page ( thin, docked, or full )


[ vintage lineart potion - 500 cc or 100 pp ]
this allows you to have your standard-lineart collie given a version
on the vintage lines! you may think of this as an alternate image,
and you may use both images for them interchangeably.

breeding items

these are items you can use to breed your collies,
resulting in various cute little pups! each item does
something different, so please read carefully to make
sure you get the item you want.

these items are always in infinite stock,
but you may only use them when breeding

[ weak breeding potion - 400 cc or 75 pp ]
a more diluted version of the standard breeding potion. this potion
allows you to breed two collies together to receive 1-2 pups.
the number of pups will be randomly rolled.


[ breeding potion - 500 cc or 100 pp ]
a classic! this potion allows you to breed two collies together for
a chance at 1-4 pups. the number of pups will be randomly rolled.


[ strong breeding potion - 1,000 cc or 200 pp ]
a more concentrated version of the standard breeding potion.
this potion allows you to breed two collies together for a
guaranteed litter of 4 pups.


[ exceptional breeding potion - 2,000 cc or 400 pp ]
this one's an odd ball! this breeding potion allows you to breed
three collies together for a chance at anywhere from 2-6 pups.


[ unstable breeding potion - 1,500 cc or 300 pp ]
this breeding potion seems a bit... volatile. this potion acts similarly
to a standard breeding potion, but guarantees each pup in your batch
will have a mutation! mutations are just lineart edits/colors/other special
little effects that neither parent has! these pups will come out looking...
a little odd.


[ trait autopass - 400 cc or 75 pp ]
this breeding item can be used as an add-on to your breeding potion
and can be used to ensure a certain lineart edit gets passed down to your
choice of number of pups in a breeding! ( example, if I want to pass
my collie's mermaid tail to all of the pups in a litter, I would use this
item and specify that I wanted it to pass to all pups. you may also
specify if you would only like it to pass to one pup, or half the litter, etc.)


[ animation autopass - 1,500 cc or 300 pp ]
this breeding item can be used as an add-on to your breeding potion
and can be used to ensure a certain animation gets assed down to your
choice of number of pups in a breeding! ( example, if I want to pass
my collie's animated fire tail to all of the pups in a litter, I would use this
item and specify that I wanted it to pass to all pups. you may also
specify if you would only like it to pass to one pup, or half the litter, etc.)

lineart edits! you may ask for one or two custom edits to your custom collie
