Welcome To Dark Matter Monsters!
DMM are a cross between many many creatures, they originated when a space shuttle carrying test animals got too close to a black hole, by sheer luck the creatures survived but many were merged together. Over the years, breeders have merged them into one 'pure' creature; they have large fluff around their necks, a large mane tuft, a tail that splits into two at the end and a large nose are the most notable features.
DMM make great pets and care for other's young like they would their own, many families have taken to adopting one, they are now one of the top most owned pet next to dogs and cats. DMM seem to prefer to belong to a group, for this reason breeders always have a large stock around. A group of DMM are called a tyne, for why they are called this is unknown but is likely a reference to Dr.Thyne who helped develop the species.
DMM communicate making a sort of 'Krriip' noises, the males of the species have a more masculine and deeper krip and the females have a more feminine and higher krip. DMM grow very fast, however they can live for up to 50 years, some have been known to reach 60, this is thought to be because they only have 1-2 cubs per litter. DMM Can breed very fast and have short gestation, many pets are 'fixed' because of this very reason.
DMM Seem to have set markings, however with the right combinations you can get some very pretty DMM. The best are highly sought after and breedings with are a great honour.
