she made another turn and almost stumbled over a bit of broken glass. she hurried into the bakery and slammed the door in their faces. she pointed to the sign above her head and stuck out her tongue again: “no dogs allowed.”

just as she took the seat by the window, her father came up to her.

“lainey, what happened?”

“nothin’.” she mumbled and rubbed at her cheek. gross. she needed another band-aid. “are the muffins fresh?”

He also he also enjoys watching the stars at night, and when he's not sleeping he has a very childish personality and has a liking for stuffed animals.
