Reason He Doesn't Have a Candy: He doesn't feel like he knows himself well enough to own one. He is confident that he may one day figure himself out, but he will keep his candyless bow as a reminder that not everyone can just understand who they're meant to be.

Reason He Doesn't Have a Candy: Charcoal isn't necessarily sweet, nor is he a bad boy, he prefers not to wear a candy because it sets him apart and when he does where candy it (illogically) gives him a mega sugar rush, which makes him crazy.
How He Feels About His Appearance: Charcoal appears to be very confident about his appearance, but really he is just as self conscious as the rest of us.
