The Akulas are a fast evolving feline like creature, found in the North Pole and several nearby countries. They are a very proud and territorial animal and are well known for their superior hunting abilities and different body and tail types.
The largest of Akulas known is as big as 10 feet long and weighed roughly 550 lbs, the smallest being around 4 feet long and weighing around 150 lbs, the average size is 6 feet long and 300lbs. Akulas are hard to domesticate and don't trust easily but once domesticated they make wonderful guard animals and are very protective creatures.

How'd he get these scars?:

One day, he went hunting, he got separated from his group.
While he was searching for his group, he saw 2 other Akulas from afar.
He noticed that they're his groupmates, one of them was his bestfriend,
he was going to greet them but suddenly realised that they're fighting.
He attempted to stop them, but ended up being attacked by his own bestfriend.
He got those scars from the battle.
Before he can do anything else due to his heavily-wounded self,
the other akula saved him by receiving a fatal blow from Gariel's bestfriend, and died after a few minutes.
Unable to move, Gariel was left shocked and couldn't do anything.
The akula that was once his bestfriend went to see the others
and lied by telling them that Gariel killed one of their groupmate.
Because of the scars, they believed it and Gariel's kicked out from the group.

Gariel turned cold to everyone afterwards and he's now living alone
That's the story on how he got the scars.

How'd they get these scars?: Trey got his first few scars on his tail, hind leg, and nose from his father who was abusive. Every once in a while his father out take him out "hunting" but physically abuse him and scratch him up. Once he was older he was able to fight back and gain his freedom and run away. The other scars were from various fights he got into defending his territory and himself. The last scar on his front leg is from a bad hunting experience. :C

scars?; as her name tells you. The pirate life is hard, but it pays bountiful. There isn't a complete story behind them together. But plenty of good tales behind them all! The one on her nose? She received fighting a captains meanest scaly wag; ended up winning I might add! The two running scars on her back/side, was from cliff diving from a tribe of Tumik's.
