~I am currently looking for artists! Pm me, or enter the artist search here

    ~Intro

Hi! Welcome to my huge cat adoption center! If you just love cats and can't get enough of them, this place is for you. If you are looking to adopt a cat, feel free to just click on the link labeled archives to find a list of all available cats. There's a lot here so feel free to check out the other links as well (you can also read a summary about what we have below in the about section). Because I don't have much time for drawing and most certainly won't have time to make an accesive amount of adopts, I am always looking for artists who can help me. Fell free to pm me if your interested. And if you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.

    ~General rules

  • Make sure to follow Tess's rules.
  • You can take these off CS, but please inform me
    if you do so.
  • You can't post these on photo/art sharing sites
    where they would be used a picture. These
    include sites such as Deviant, pintrist, tumblr ect.
  • You can post these on personal sites or other
    sites where they would be displayed as a
    character. These include sites like weebly,
    but also public sites made for roleplaying ect.
  • If you are unsure of where you can post these,
    please ask.
  • As of now, please inform me if you wish to
    re-sell a cat youadopted here. (this does not apply
    to customs)
  • It is preferred that unwanted cats be sent to
    the pound for re-adoption.
    ~About

Hello again! Here you will find a summary of all the different things this adoption canter has to offer. First, if you would like to adopt a cat, go ahead and click on the link called Adoptions. Under adoptions you will find the cats the are currently available, the cats that are currently growing, the pound, and the archives. The next link called Staff, is simply a list of all the staff and if the availability of each staff member. The next two links are about the types of cats we can create. The section called Types 1 will display everything about the lines, including the different lines and backgrounds we have, as well as line edits. Types 2 is oriented around the different ways to color the cats. Under the section called Special is all the info about breeding and customs, or basically cats that you want to be specially created. Next is the section called bank, which explains the prices. News and FAQ are what they sound like. And last, the category called Other includes things such as banners for the adoption center and affiliates.

    ~About the pound;

The pound is fairly simple, there is an adoption form and a donation form. The pound has no extra rules and is basically just a spot to keep car that can be re-adopted. It does not cost anything to adopt from the pound, but the pound does run completely off of donations so I am assuming that the pound will be empty most of the time.

Pound adoption form;
please delete the instructions in the brackets (and the brackets) when you fill out the form.

~Types 2~

~ Welcome ✖ Adoptions ✖ Types 1 ✖ Types 2 ✖ Staff ✖ Special ✖ Bank ✖ News ✖ FAQ ✖ Other ~

    ~Whats this?
lllllThis is a guide on how to classify a design's type and difficulty. The types and difficulties of designs are helpful when trying to figure out the price of a custom cat.

    ~Realistic designs

  • Realistic designs are just what they sound like. Realistic designs are required to have both realistic markings and realistic colors. Realistic designs do not have to be designs that commonly or even ever, naturally occur, for example, one does not commonly see pure black and white cats with tortoiseshell designs, it far more likely for a tortoiseshell to come in brown and white, however both tortoiseshell markings and black and white cats are possible so I would classify a black and white tortoiseshell as a realistic cat. In other words, markings do not have to be made in their correct colors, just as long as the color used does naturally appear on cats.
llllllllllllll~Difficulty 3~
Image
More examples of difficulty 3;
xXx
Difficulty 3 consists of the most
complex breeds of cats. These
include tortoiseshell cats like the
one displayed above, cats with
different color tabby stripes, and
mostly any cat with muddled
markings. Remember that the
amount of white on a cat does
not make the cat less complex
unless the white covers more
than 2/3 of the visible part of
the cat. (visible parts include
the back, the outer part of the
legs, the head, and the tail.)

llllllllllllll~Difficulty 2~
Image
More examples of difficulty 2;
xXx
Difficulty 2 consists mostly of
tabbies, but can really include
any cat that has more complex
markings,or markings not
defined by distinct or large arias
of the body. Multicolored
tabbies are not difficulty 2
because they actually use two
difficulty 2 type markings.
Remember that the amount of
white on a cat does not make
the cat less complex unless the
white covers more than 2/3 of
the visible part of the cat.
(visible parts include the back,
the outer part of the legs, the
head, and the tail.)

llllllllllllll~Difficulty 1~
Image
More examples of difficulty 1;
xXx
Difficulty 1 consists of the least
complex cat designs. These
designs always have exactly two
colors. The design consists of
large, simple arias of color, or
color on specific parts of the
body, such as the feet or tail.
Tuxedo and point designs are
among the most common designs
classified as difficulty 1.
Remember that the amount of
white on a cat does not make the
cat less complex unless the white
covers more than 2/3 of the
visible part of the cat.(visible
parts include the back,the
outer part of the legs, the head,
and the tail.)

lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
    ~Semi-Realistic designs

  • Semi-Realistic designs have natural cat colors, but don't have natural markings. Semi realistic designs never occur in nature, but because they have all natural colors, they are classified as semi realistic. For example, a brown colored cat with white, moon shaped markings on its back is semi realistic because cats don't naturally have moon shaped markings, however the colors are natural so the cat becomes semi natural. (Un-realistic designs have the exact same difficulty classifications as Semi-realistic designs. The only difference between the two is this top part here, so you will only need to read one to know what the other says).
llllllllllllll~Difficulty 3~
Image
Opps, there are no examples of
llllllllllllllllldifficulty 3
Difficulty three can be defined by
two things, either an unclear base
color, or an abundance of
markings so that they cover the
whole body. The most common
difficulty three design is the
galaxy design, it only qualifies
for a difficulty three however
if it has little or no areas with
plain color (or shown base color).
Remember that the complexity
of the color palate does not
change the complexity of the
design unless the additional
colors require there to be
additional design.

llllllllllllll~Difficulty 2~
Image
Opps, there are no examples of
llllllllllllllllldifficulty 2
Difficulty two contains cats with
slightly more complex markings.
Common Difficulty two markings
include circuit markings, and tree
markings. Difficulty 2 often also
has a centralized marking, but
the markings that are not the
central one tend to be more
complex as well and are often
in more than one color. (It does
not have to have a main marking
to be a difficulty 2 cat).
Remember that the complexity
of the color palate does not
change the complexity of the
design unless the additional
colors require there to be
additional design.

llllllllllllll~Difficulty 1~
Image
Opps, there are no examples of
llllllllllllllllldifficulty 1
Difficulty 1 cats have very simple
or sparse markings. These
markings are often concentrated
in specific spots such as a
shoulder or thigh. The markings
are most prominent in the
chosen places and become less
intense as they get further
away from the chosen places.
If this is not the case, the
markings are sparse instead of
simple, with small amounts of
markings scattered on various
perts of the body. Remember
that the complexity of the color
palate does not change the
complexity of the design unless
the additional colors require
there to be additional design.

lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
    ~Semi-Un-Realistic designs

  • Semi-Un-Realistic designs are required to have a Realistic or Semi-Realistic base with unnatural markings (in unnatural colors) on top. There can be no natural colored or Realistic markings on top of the unnatural markings, and the two types of markings can't be blended in nay way otherwise it it a plain Un-Realistic cat. Note that natural colored cats with small unnatural accents are also considered Un-Realistic unless there is a prominent visible pattern of unrealistic color markings.Rarely, cats with unnatural bases that have natural markings on top can be classified as Semi-Un-Realistic. Cats like these have to have completely unnatural bases (no natural colors or markings) and are hard to find. If you think you might have a cat like this, you can pm me about it as I am not going to include the criteria for that specific type of cat here.
llllllllllllll~Difficulty 3~
Image
Opps, there are no examples of
llllllllllllllllldifficulty 3
Difficulty 3 cats must have a
natural base that follows the
criteria for either a difficulty 3
Semi-Realistic, or Realistic base.
The marking on top are complex
and usually cover most of the cat.
(it however is still required that
the base design show through)
Remember that if the markings
are more complex than the base
designs (or the other way around)
it does not change the difficulty
of the design unless the
difference between the to is
extremely large.

llllllllllllll~Difficulty 2~
Image
Opps, there are no examples of
llllllllllllllllldifficulty 2
Difficulty 2 cats must have a
natural base that follows the
criteria for either a difficulty 2
Semi-Realistic, or Realistic base.
The markings on top are slightly
more complex and often cover
more of the cat's body. Many cats
also have markings that generate
from a specific spot and disperse.
Remember that if the markings
are more complex than the base
designs (or the other way around)
it does not change the difficulty
of the design unless the
difference between the to is
extremely large.

llllllllllllll~Difficulty 1~
Image
Opps, there are no examples of
llllllllllllllllldifficulty 1
Difficulty 1 cats must have a
natural base that follows the
criteria for either a difficulty 1
Semi-Realistic, or Realistic base.
The markings on top are usually
derived from simple shapes and
are concentrated in specific areas
of the cat. The markings might
also be few and far between,
both fit the criteria for difficulty
1. Remember that if the markings
are more complex than the base
designs (or the other way around)
it does not change the difficulty
of the design unless the
difference between the to is
extremely large.

lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
lllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
    ~Un-Realistic designs

  • Un-Realistic designs are also just what they sound like. They have both colors and markings that never appear on real cats. The base color of these cats is often an unnatural cat color, but it is not required to be. To make it clear, the colors or markings on these cats do not have to be completely unnatural, they only have to contain unnatural colors (and many contain unnatural markings). Un-Realistic cats can't apply to the criteria of Semi-Un-Realistic designs otherwise they are classified as Semi-Un-Realistic. (Un-realistic designs have the exact same difficulty classifications as Semi-realistic designs. The only difference between the two is this top part here, so you will only need to read one to know what the other says).

    ~FAQ
I'm not sure what difficulty or type my design is.

Obviously, this guide could never cover every single design out there, and I expect there to be some types of designs that this guide doesn't address. But I feel that most every design can be classified with this guide so if you have looked thoroughly through this guide and still don't know how to classify your design, please just fill out the simple form below and post it on this thread so that I or another artist can classify it for you.

Cat Classification form;
please delete the instructions in the brackets (and the brackets) when you fill out the form.

Proof of permission from owner to classify their cat character on this thread;
[required if you are not the owner][answer here]
Picture/reference of cat character;

I'm not sure what difficulty or type my design is due to item usage.

Sorry, our guide does not classify cats with items. When classifying a cat, all items will be ignored as we focus mainly on the design. If you are concerned about pricing, we have general prices for items under bank. However you will need to arrange the specific price of your cat including it's items that you want drawn with the artist who is drawing your cat. I'm sorry that we can't be of assistance when classifying cats with items.

    ~Artist rules

  • Artists must use the lock alpha function
  • If artists choose to accept orders for special cats, they are expected to complete them in a timely manner.
  • Artists must Pm me when they post any drawing for the adoption center (this is a requirement, no exceptions will be made for those who have disabled Pm's)
  • Artists must Pm me when a cat of theirs changes "status" (for example, inform me if the cat is no longer growing or in no longer up for adoption)
  • Artists must link back to the adoption center when they post cats for adoption
  • Artist must title the drawing with "Cat #" followed by the number that it is. (for example the first cat in the adoption center is Cat #1)
  • We do have a rarity bar, so if you decide to make your cat a rare or very rare, please okay it with me first.
  • Guest artist may make 3 cats, then pm me for more information.
  • Artists may choose the adopter of the cats they make by any means they choose
  • Artists are required to post on the adoption center's page.
  • Each time an artist posts on the adoption center's page, they will need to post their "artist identity" above their post. (pm me for more information on this).

    ~FAQ
Which artists are available for creating special cats?

Black name tag = Artist is available for everything
Red name tag = Artist has been inactive here for more than a month (this tag is also used for helpers that aren't artists)
Pink name tag = Artist is not available to create any special cats
Purple name tag = Artist is available for Breedings only
Blue name tag = Artist is available for Customs only
Aqua name tag = Artist is available for Line edits (on pre made cats) only
Green name tag = Artist is available for Breedings and Customs only
Yellow name tag = Artist is available for Customs and Line edits only
Orange name tag = Artist is available for Line edits and Breedings only

Which artists accept which payment methods?

The brackets under each artists name tag (in staff) indicates what methods of payment they accept. This works by giving each method of payment a symbol. If that symbol appears in the brackets under the artists name tag it means that they are willing to accept that form of payment. some artists may have no symbols under their name tag, this is also an indicator that the artist is not available to create any special cats.

    ~Breedings

Breeding rules;
  • Currently, breedings are to be female x male only.
  • Breeders may not ask for more than four offspring per breeding.
  • Artists have the right to decline any breeding form directed at them.
  • Breeders must have proof of permission from the owners of both parent cats in order to breed them.
  • Line edits on bred cats are to be ordered after the bred kits have grown to adult stage.
  • If no specific lines are specified by the breeder, *L#1 will be used for the adult lines and the artist has the right to choose the kit lines.
  • The designs of all the offspring will reflect the design types and difficulties of the parents combined types and difficulties, no exceptions.
  • Breeders are required to keep, give away, or sell all the offspring of the cats that they breed. (meaning that if a breeder does not want one of their offspring, we will not put it up for adoption here).

How our breeding works;
lllllllBreeding will automatically result in two offspring unless a different number is specified by the breeder and okayed by the artist. As a default, the offspring of two bred parents will first be drawn as kits and using *L#13,14,15,16 or 17 (these will be specified by the breeder and approved by the artist). When the artist breeds the cats, all the kittens will appear on the same page. Once the breeding is acknowledged by the breeder, the artist will post a grown version of each design using *L#1 (unless otherwise specified by the breeder and approved by the artist). Grown versions will be posted like regular cats by coloring in the tittle screen (they will not appear as color ins of the kitten's page). The artist will make an effort to post the kittens page within a couple weeks of the breeding be settled, they will also make an effort to post all the adult pages within a month of the breeding being acknowledged by the breeder. If you have any questions about how we do it, just ask.

Breeding form;
please delete the instructions in the brackets (and the brackets) when you fill out the form. It is not required, but Pm-ing your breeding form to your preferred artist is most appreciated as the artist will be more likely to see it there.

In addition to the breeding form, once your kits have been created, you will need to post the form below on the Kit's topic. You will need one form per kit;
please delete the instructions in the brackets (and the brackets) when you fill out the form.

Breeding Prices;
Each kit costs one and a half times as much as the average cost of the parents if they were ordered as customs. (The additional cost is because the kits grow, therefore artists must make two pieces of art instead of one for each kit). A list of custom prices is available under the section called bank, but if you need any help with pricing feel free to ask. Also, keep in mind that this adoption center is new, so the prices are not set in stone yet. I will be working with the artists to figure out more permanent prices, but for now all prices are negotiable.

    ~Customs

Custom rules;
  • All customs require a reference picture.
  • Artists have the right to decline any custom form directed at them.
  • Customs may not be donated to the pound if they are no longer wanted.
  • If your custom has line edits, you will need to fill out a line edit form and a custom form.
  • You must have proof of permission from the owner of a cat character to order it as a custom.
  • You may not ask for a custom that contains excessive gore or anything that is not appropriate for children.

How our customs work;
lllllllOur customs are quite simple; we draw you cat character on our lines. Unlike some art shops, we do not create characters based on specifications that you have in the form of words. This is because it causes too much disagreement between the artist and the person who ordered the custom, often the artist can't make the character exactly how the person wants it without a visual reference. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Custom form;
please delete the instructions in the brackets (and the brackets) when you fill out the form. It is not required, but Pm-ing your custom form to your preferred artist is most appreciated as the artist will be more likely to see it there.
Code: Select all

Payment;

Custom prices;
Prices are based off of the type and difficulty of a design. You can view how to classify the type and difficulty of your design under types 2, and you can view how to price your cat based on type and difficulty under bank. Also, keep in mind that this adoption center is new, so the prices are not set in stone yet. I will be working with the artists to figure out more permanent prices, but for now all prices are negotiable.

    ~Line edits

Line edit rules;
  • We will not re draw the whole cat for you.
  • We will not re draw cats to correct their anatomy.
  • You may only order line edits on cats that you own.
  • Artists have the right to decline any Line edit form directed at them.
  • You may not order a line edit for the purpose of changing the actual design of the cat.

How our line edits work;
lllllllThere are three types of line edits, removing, adding, and changing. Removing is exactly what it sounds like, we edit the lines to remove something. For example, the cat that you want has a short tale, we remove the rest of the tale, and edit it enough so that it doesn't look messy. Changing also deals only with the lines. Say for example the cat you want has a crooked tail. We remove the existing tale, and re draw it so that the tale is crooked. The most common however is adding. This means that none of the lines are removed. For example if the cat you want has two tails, we will add an extra tail without removing the existing one. Adding can also be used to add items.

Line edit form;
please delete the instructions in the brackets (and the brackets) when you fill out the form. It is not required, but Pm-ing your line edit form to your preferred artist is most appreciated as the artist will be more likely to see it there.
Code: Select all
~Line edit form
Preferred artist;
[*a list of artists is available under "staff"*][required][answer here]
Link to the page of the cat that you want line edits on
[*if cat has not been created yet, please make other specifications*][required][answer here]
Please confirm that you own the cat you are requesting line edits on;
[*proof of ownership is not necessary, just give a verbal confirmation*][required][answer here]
What would you like to be edited?;
[required][answer here]
Photo reference of edits;
[required if edits are changes or additions][photo here]
Other line edit specifications;
[not required][answer here]
Payment;
[required][answer here]

Line edit prices;
It is hard to set specific prices for the cost of line edits because line edits can be virtually anything. The cost of line edits does however depend on the type and difficulty of the edit. Even though we do not have specific difficulties for line edits, we do have specific types (these are classified under "How our line edits work"). As a basic rule, removing costs far less than adding or changing, and adding generally costs slightly more than changing. For more specific prices, see the section called bank. Also, keep in mind that this adoption center is new, so the prices are not set in stone yet. I will be working with the artists to figure out more permanent prices, but for now all prices are negotiable.

    ~about

I hope that we can make pricing very
convenient for both you and the artists. I
will talk to each artist I hire about what
pricing seems fair and convenient to
them. I am striving to encompass as
many payment methods as possible to
make it easier for people to order cats,
so in addition to C$ and pets, I hope that
we can work with each other to find
other currencies on other sites that also
work for both you and the artists. I will
try to keep a record of equivalent prices
in other currencies posted below the
regular prices in pets. Also, keep in mind
that this adoption center is new, so the
prices are not set in stone yet. For now,
all prices are negotiable.

    ~Regular prices in pets

~Realistic
Difficulty 1 = 1 common
Difficulty 2 = 1 uncommon
Difficulty 3 = 1 rare or a few uncommons

~Semi-Realistic
Difficulty 1 = 1 uncommon
Difficulty 2 = 1 rare or a few uncommons
Difficulty 3 = 2 rares or anything of equal value

~Semi-Un-Realistic
Difficulty 1 = 1 uncommon - a few uncommons
Difficulty 2 = 1 rare - a few rares or anything of equal value lllllllllll
Difficulty 3 = a few rares or anything of equal value

~Un-Realistic
Difficulty 1 = 1 uncommon
Difficulty 2 = 1 rare or a few uncommons
Difficulty 3 = 2 rares or anything of equal value

lllll
lllll
    ~exchange rates

~pets to C$
1 very common = about 1 C$
1 common = about 1-5 C$
1 uncommon = about 5-10 C$llll
1 rare = about 10-20 CS
1 very rare = about 20-40 C$

    ~Line edit prices

keep in mind that it is hard to classify every line edit so if you don't know what your line edit would cost, it would be helpful if you made a guess and if the artist doesn't agree with how you priced it you can work it out together.

Removing;
all removing = free - 1 uncommon (if ordered with a custom, removing is usually free)

Changing;
changing the tail = about 1 uncommon (less if ordered with a custom)
changing a limb = about 1 rare (less if ordered with a custom)
changing the head or body = (invalid changes)

adding;
adding an extra tail = about 1 uncommon for the first tail (less for additional tails)
adding an extra limb = about 1 rare for the first limb (less for additional limbs)
adding an extra head = about 1 rare for the first head (less for additional heads)
adding large items (such as sweaters) = about 1-2 rares
adding medium items (such as scarves) = about 1 rare or a few uncommons
adding small items (such as jewelry) = about 1-2 uncommons

(notice that the more complicated the line edits the more the they will cost, please look at you item and decide how complicated you think it is, then adjust the price accordingly)

    ~FAQ
Which artists accept which payment methods?

The brackets under each artists name tag (in staff) indicates what methods of payment they accept. This works by giving each method of payment a symbol. If that symbol appears in the brackets under the artists name tag it means that they are willing to accept that form of payment. some artists may have no symbols under their name tag, this is also an indicator that the artist is not available to create any special cats.

Hi! Welcome to the grand opening of the adoption enter! This is where I will put all the news concerning the adoption center. It will include things such as current contests and events, special deals, or just anything else that I want to announce. There isn't really anything exciting going on at the moment, but hopefully we will have some real news soon C:

I'm not sure what difficulty or type my design is.

Obviously, our guide could never cover every single design out there, and I expect there to be some types of designs that our guide doesn't address. But I feel that most every design can be classified with our guide so if you have looked thoroughly through our guide and still don't know how to classify your design, please just fill out the simple form below and post it on this thread so that I or another artist can classify it for you.

Cat Classification form;
please delete the instructions in the brackets (and the brackets) when you fill out the form.
Code: Select all
~Cat Classification form
Owner of cat character;
[required][answer here]
Proof of permission from owner to classify their cat character on this thread;
[required if you are not the owner][answer here]
Picture/reference of cat character;
[required][picture here]

I'm not sure what difficulty or type my design is due to item usage.

Sorry, our guide does not classify cats with items. When classifying a cat, all items will be ignored as we focus mainly on the design. If you are concerned about pricing, we have general prices for items under bank. However you will need to arrange the specific price of your cat including it's items that you want drawn with the artist who is drawing your cat. I'm sorry that we can't be of assistance when classifying cats with items.
