What is Your Current Job? (Or volunteer position)

after starting my summer job for a fifth year, this time being (nearly) after i've fully finished university, a few weeks ago my bosses asked me if i would stay on full time and accept a promotion! so i now do admin work and customer service at a family rose garden business as well as floating around doing jobs in the sheds/beds/fields :')

in my summers i work at a government ran entomology lab just studying/researching bugs! C:

but now im in my final (and fifth) year of college, i am the lead art gallery attendant at my campus art gallery. (ive only slipped with a painting once and of course it was our picasso. i let my foot catch the painting bc priceless art > my foot ouchie) plus i do research, guided tours, and help w social media.
another job i have is as a campus ambassador for undergrad admissions!! i love it so much <3 i do guided group tours and work at our front desk. super rewarding job bc i love my campus so much !!!!

I love my profession although many hate it. It is not an easy job for sure and typically doesn't pay awfully well. It does take a "knack" to do it well and to not get burned out or "take it home" so to speak.

My current job is in Customer Service. I have worked in this field my whole life in various companies. I now need to work from home due to not being able to walk more than a few feet, so, after my former employer went out of business due to Covid in 2020, I applied for and landed what I thought would be a perfect, full time and long term work from home position from a billion dollar corporation. I was hired, got many awards and a couple of raises and thought all was going well.

Well as my Dad used to say "Thought didn't, he just thought he did." It means that although I had thought it would be a long term job, the CEOs of the Corporation decided to no longer use domestic agents (USA) and so May, 2023, I became laid off. I am unemployed seeking work at home customer service that hopefully will stay in the USA. I am most used to food product customer service but have done sales and service positions in multiple other types of products such as vacuum cleaners or kitchen goods. Anyhow, I guess my overall reason for posting is that no matter how secure you believe your position to be, there's always the slight chance it will disappear, even with a very large corporation.
