Mom is happy about the idea of my dad getting my and my sister a snake. So today we're going to the pet store so she can check them out. If I do get a snake, it won't be a kingsnake, but a cornsnake. Wish me luck!



EDIT: I got the snake! Yay! It's a Fire Blood Corn Snake (Never have heard of that type before). She's a little girl and is soooo cute! My mom wants me to name her Phoenix. I also like Cora and Tanit.

Sorry to say, but it can't be a fire blood.

Fire is a combination of two genes, the amelanistic gene and the diffuse/dillute gene. Blood (red) IS another name for diffused/dilluted corns that have been selectively bred to be patternless, but is mostly used in a wrong way to mention diffused corns. Either way, it's still only a fire, because the dillute gene + amelanistic = fire. (You can say he's an Amelanistic diffused corn snake, though)

Yeah, we figured that it was some made-up thing. I'm just happy to have my little baby. I'm stuck with naming her though. I like the name Phoenix, Cora, and Tanit. But my mom also likes the name Luna.

Thank you! I love her sooo much. Though they gave us a pinkie to feed her, and she wouldn't eat it. So we stayed up all night trying to keep it alive. -.- I was sooo tired. Though now my dad took it back and we found out they shuold have never done that.

F/T food is much more humane and much safer...I absolutely suggest that you feed her that -now- so she will eat it when she's older.

Corns are a bit weird when young, when it comes to pinkies. Give it a few days, like 3, then try with a F/T pinkie. If she won't eat, even when it's wiggling and warm, (you wiggle it with tweezers) try splitting the head so the brain is visible. Often that will stimulate tough snakes to eat.

Also, make sure to feed in a separate space!

Agreed, it thought my mom was it's mom. So it snuggled in her warm hands. So cute.
