A family in Oregon found him wandering in their backyard on Monday. He has cuts on his paws because he got into glass or something else sharp. They responded to my mom's FB post with a pic of him this morning, my poor baby!
They said he stayed in their barn for a night and then came up to the house when their daughter gave him strips of beef jerky. Somewhere along his travels, he lost his collar so they thought he was a stray.

We're starting the drive up there to get him and then we're going home and packing for the trip to Japan right away.

Yay!! I'm so glad you found him!
Have fun in Japan!

    Aww that photo with the rat and her is just precious! If I remember correctly didn't Kes get bit on the tongue by a rat? xD

    @Lizzy
    Congratz on getting Justin back!! I was really worried about him. Glad he's safe, and relatively unharmed.
    (Any idea why he'd travel all the way out there??)

    Also to everyone on the thread who's going through hard times, I'm so incredibly sorry you have to go through all of it!! Y'all are in my thought. <3 I really do hope things get better.

Thank you, maninkari!
I don't know, dogs are supposed to have a sixth sense that guides them home. Justin has never been outside our fence without me, maybe he tapped into that exploring side he had before we adopted him.
Here's my post about Justin's life before he came into mine;

Ahhh I'm already attached to this goat. Damn it, she's too perfect and I've always loved goats. I hope to god JJ doesn't get through my frankenstein fence.

I took JJ out for some leash training because I've been slacking. She got back into the drift of it real fast and only slipped up a few times. A dog even rushed at us and she didn't lunge.
A random guy also came up to us and she wouldn't let him touch me, but still walked away and focused on me when I said, so that was nice. Her job is to protect me, when someone 3 times larger than me approaches us in the middle of the desert, I sure don't mind her growling.

Dog parks are just so.... exausting.
Most of my friends don't have dogs, so I have to mostly rely on the dog park for socializing and making connections. Not ideal, but it has been working and I make sure to keep a close eye on her and the other dogs.
But talking with dog owners in person is very stressful to me. There's so many differences in opinion about dogs and dog care so I find it very hard to have a conversation because I have to constantly watch what I'm saying (usually I just pretend to agree with them, I'm not there to debate, just tire out my puppy).
It doesn't help that most of the owners in my area are probably 50+ so I tend to get looked down on for being young too.

I don't think we will be regulars once Olive is older. It's just not worth it to me.

She's sad because she can't get past the gate to eat the goat. I had a long talk with my mom, and she's going to look into getting actual fencing done, so this whole goat thing might work. It's not that I don't want a goat, I just don't want a dead goat.

I reintroduced Pete to her without JJ and he didn't care about her at all. Sniffed her and then walked away, I didn't think he'd have a problem as long as JJ wasn't there either.

The cats love her at least.

Lilly... uh... ate a couch and my mom still refuses to buy a crate for the dog i've told her we need a crate for. Today my mom decided to take the entire family out of the house for 8 hours and leave Lilly and Thor free run of the house.

Lilly ate the corner of a cushion of a new couch.

She's chewing more and more despite having a good streak of about a month and a half to two months of not chewing. The only thing we didn't do today is run her energy before we left. Which is probably what led to this.

Results from her chewing is me getting yelled at by my mother and a bedroom ban on Lilly until my mother cools down.
She's not allowed to sleep in the other room with the other dogs. So I've got my cuddle pup for a while.

Ugh, that's horrible. Your mom is gambling with Lily's life. She could choke on something, eat something that is toxic or causes a blockage. I'm not a fan of crates, but I'd much rather see a dog in a crate then on an operating table because it ate something it shouldn't.

If she continues not to get a crate tell that it will cost her thousands of dollars in vet bills if Lilly has to go to surgery cause she won't get a crate. Because it can and will happen if this continues and thats the sad truth but making the argument that you don't want to have to pay for a vet bill that could have been preventable is a good incentive to get a crate for people who won't get a crate.
