There may be an episode on that in a later season, possibly. And for their parents, it's either that they don't know yet (since they were away from home anyways) or that they just...don't care.

I think if we got an episode going back to Earth, it'd be at the end of the series, once they've defeated Zarkon and the Galra Empire, and no longer need to defend the universe and all~

Re: their parents, I'm sure they absolutely care, but they're not a significant part of the narrative so we don't see them. Also~! The Garrison might be covering up their disappearance like they did with the Kerberos mission, so no one is aware of anything~ O;

Or maybe instead of getting a back to Earth episode, we might get a save Earth from the Galra episode. This could be the end of the series or not. And I agree that the Garrison is most likely covering up their dissapearance.

I dont even wanna think about the end of the show ;-;. But also now that I think about it the garrison is definitely covering up their disappearance.

Id love to see a saving earth episode, especially because of their reactions once they hear that Zarkon is going to destroy / take over earth.

(And after they save earth I would also love to see Allura and Coran's reactions to everything there)

Finally, a topic I wanna get in on.....

I've been thinking about after the show since the show started! It began simply, back when I was still into non binary Pidge headcanon, with:
Student: Are you Miss or Mister?
Adult Pidge: Doctor.
This grew into Green Lion Labs and a nearly complete sort of adult-power-Rangers AU that will likely never see the light again. Nowadays my focus is on things like Lance introducing a fully Galra-fied Keith to his family and Shiro getting an apartment to share with his TBD significant other.
Green Lion Labs still lives though.
Somewhere in my dreams.

And, like everyone else, Alteans on Earth is one of the things I love imagining the most.

the ship was quiet, and everyone avoids every
door. it was about December on earth, so that
means Christmas would be soon. allura, trying
to bring some of earths traditions and holidays
into their lives, has hung up mistletoe in every.
single. door. the paladins have to sprint throug
h the doors, staying as close to the edges of th
e doors as they are able to. sometimes, they w
ould accidently miss the door completely and r
un into the walls.

this made it hard to get through the ship, but i
t was all in good fun, so what could go wrong?
