Clubs/Armies Fan Guide

Postby NinthWolf » Sun Nov 20, 2011 1:38 pm

These tips have worked for other people, though they are not rules just advice so please do not feel you have to do the below.

If you have any suggestions to add please post and let me know.

This guide was thought out by me, for all you members out there, in compliance with experiences encountered in the Clubs and Armies Forum. This guide may be subject to change. Staff can edit this.

Your Title:
Your title is a very important part of your Club/Army, you need it to be clear and to the point, for example, you don't want a title like;
'The lightening scar gang'
you'd want
'Harry Potter Fan Club'
It's clear and to the point, not dilly-dallying on a 'cool' title name which no-one can understand.

Organisation
Organization is a necessity when creating with a Club or army. The less organized a club is, the more work someone has to go through to find information and they less likely they will be bothered to fill out a form.

Rules+Forms:
Ok, So when you set up, you need to make some ground rules, otherwise the fan club will be left to run a muck! whether or not you choose to have forms that's up to you, but i will say this, having to make a long form, isn't what people want, if they see a form with about 10 questions on it, i'm sure people won't want to devote an hour of writing out a form as best they can.

Be professional:
You can't just go mess around, or talk with chat speak, that way, you don't sound serious about this Club or Army you should be nothing but professional. Talk to the other Club/Army members politely, reply to their questions and don't bump topics every 3 minutes, number 1. It's Spam and number 2. no-one is going to join if all they see is -bump-bump-bump-

Keep your anger hidden:
No-one will join your Club/Army if all you show is irritantance, answering sharply and rudely is an absolute no-no. For example, a fan may be a little annoying and today just isn't your day, but don't take it all out of them, explain and help them, if your nice, trust me, word will get round, and your Club/Army will be the one to join.

Keep spam to a minimum:
You can chat with fans, but ideally your Club/Army thread should be just for talking about the subject which concerns your thread.

Style the topic to be easily understandable:
If you don't make the Club/Army clear on what it's about it will cause confusion and no-one will want to join a confusing Club/Army right? Reserve a few spots after the main post, to make it easy to navigate from rules to forms etc.

Keep your members up to date:
News on the club/army? Say so! Add a notice on the first page! Keep your members updated so they will know what's happening in the club/army. It will give them piece of mind knowing that they don't have to rely on their memory for an update but yours! You made the club/army, so help it blossom, no-one wants news from 3 weeks ago, they want the news now.

Do not resort to begging if no-one joins your Club/Army[color]:
Advertise. Stamps, Banners, they work- use them. The Clubs/Armies are fast moving topics, you'll get found.

[color=#008000]Advertise:

Need to advertise? use your signature! make stamps, banners, little mascots and plenty of other 'tid bits.' An example of a stamp i found on google-

And there are a few rules about armies/clubs so be sure to check up on them.

i hope a few people took the time to read this, because Clubs+Armies are important,they almost act as a social savoir. Respect the Fanclubs and they'll respect you. I wish any of you who have made/making a Club/Army the best of luck with my new, hopefully good guide. Any other information you'd like me to put up? Please post it!

Be sure to warmly welcome the new Fans to your Club/Army. Be nice to the fellow fans, they won't want to feel unwelcome.

Staff please edit if needed.
