Note that this is subject to extension based on how many competitors we have and also the amount of time I or the Staff have to judge this. The end date isn't indefinite though, as soon as the new Trial Artists have been selected the Comp will begin again with new viscets cycled in to work with!

To the Viscets' Ongoing Nursery Artist Competition!
Here will be a Artist Competition for Nursery Artists. At the end of each judging period, entries will be judged and a select number hired. A Cover will be posted announcing the winners. A new try out period will begin shortly after the judging period signified by the Cover posted with the new trial artists.
With a growing community we are avidly in search of more Nursery artists to help with the demand. So if you're interested in being a part of our Nursery Artist staff then read the rules below for all you'll need to know for trying out! We're excited to see what you will do. Feel free to ask for critique on this thread, many of our artists are more than willing to give pointers and advice if you're uncertain of a try out.

✦ We're hoping to select between 2 to 5 new Nursery Artists.
[How to Try Out]
✦ The amount of winners chosen will depend on the quality and quantity of entries.
✦ This comp is specifically designated for Nursery artist try outs.
✦ If you were not hired for this search, you may enter again after the new phase has begun.
✦ There is no time limit on entries; all artists work at their own pace.
✦ No copying, be it other artist's entries or other artist's designs in general, from anywhere.
✦ Please keep to the given mutations. Our mutations list can be found here.
✦ All batches are purely conceptual. These are not real, nor will they be adopted out.
✦ The lines given in this comp are to be used for no other purpose than entry in this comp.✦ Make yourself a cover. Make all your entries as color-ins of that cover.
[What We're Looking For]
✦ You can make a total of 6 Nursery entries.
✦ Pick 2 parents (1 male / 1 female) from this section here to mix.
✦ You need to make at least two entries that grows from an egg to adult.
The reason for this is because while a lot may choose Growth to Adult, not all will. So you'll need to show us you can grow batches from egg to adult if you need to. c:We are looking for individuals who can create batches that are a mix of two parents. The mix isn't always going to be 50/50 but there should always be elements of both parents in the mix. We expect you to do your best with any line edits and with replicating designs and markings as best you can.

We're looking for quality over quantity when it comes to entries. So while we'd love to see you create all 6 allotted entries we'd rather you give us the best try outs you can and focus on the quality of the batches rather than getting as many done as possible.

✦ Take 2 of the provided staff-owned Viscets below of opposite sex and mix their designs as you would a normal Nursery batch.
✦ Viscet Eggs are white with colored spots that indicate the Viscling's colors.
✦ Viscets have a system concerning the inheritance of mutations; please see them here. To see their growth times and rules regarding nursery artists, go here. Your demonstration of inheritance and line edits will help you.
✦ You must be able to fill out and properly use our Nursery Batch format, here's a skeleton form for that.
