"Welcome to Gredrick Retreat."



There's a thick crunch as you step out of the car and onto the gravel; your eyes flicker around as they take in the wonderful view. The towering trees and expanding lake make a fine backdrop to the modernist cube bungalows dotting across the sloping hill side. You catch "Gredrick Retreat." scrawled along a welcoming sign before you attention is swayed to the rather pleasant looking female standing before you.

"Hello, and welcome to Gredrick Retreat, we've been waiting for you, I will be you guide for your stay here, my name is Emily." She intones calmly and politely and gentle smile on her face. "We're very happy for you to have shown interest in what we do here."

You give a slight scratch to your cheek as you try to remember all the details you had read; yet all you can remember was their slogan 'To find the one you're meant to meet.' A gentle laugh easily breaks you out of your musings, however.

"It's not uncommon to forget the details of Gredrick Retreat, I'll give you a refresher as we make our way to the office, follow me, if you will." She finished with a smile, showing with a gentle sway of her arm towards what would have been the main building. As you begin to walk towards the building, Emily casually falls into step beside you and begins to recite what you had read.

"Gredrick Retreat is based on the belief that soulmates exist. And it is our soul duty to you, to find that soulmate." She pauses in her talk to swing open the door for you, giving you entrance into a grand welcoming hall of the main building. Just like the outside it is just as modern on the inside. Her kindness gave you an opening to ask a question "How do you expect to be able to find my soulmate?" Your query brings another smile to her face as she leads you past the front counter and receptionist.

"Here at Gredrick Retreat, we practices the beliefs of the ancient religion of Yuo. This religion centres around the belief that every soul is attached to an item. For each soul there is an item, and for each item there is another half." She finished with a mysterious smile. "Each item is made from a batch, and from this batch only two items can be made." To demonstrate this she took off two of her rings, holding one in one hand and the other, in the other hand. You give a nod of understanding and she continues. "You will pick one item," She closes a hand around one of them, hiding it from view "the item your soul yearns for, the one you are most drawn to and your soulmate, the other half of your soul, will pick the other item." She finishes, closing her hand over the other item. "It is through this, that we will find your soulmate. Only your soulmate, the one that holds the other half of you, will pick the corresponding item."

It is with this thought lingering in your mind that you are whipped through another door, this time instead of seeing another empty room, you are presented with seven other people waiting beside you and a table covered in jewellery. An elderly man, Asian in origin steps forward, his back bent over as he waddles forth with his cane; his beard so long it nearly touches the ground.

"The time has come to select your items." He waning voice whispers as he motioned to the table with a sweep of his hand before his foggy eyes glance at you. With a look back at Emily, you receive another friendly smile that prompts you into stepping forth to gaze at the table. Your stumped into wonder as your eyes rove over some of the most beautiful jewellery you have ever seen; some of them most cost hundreds and thousands of dollars, yet here you are, free to pick one. One that will lead to your soulmate.

With a deep breath, you reach forward and snag the one you want most.

So, let's get started!
This is a Semi-Lit+ RP. That means all of your posts have to be a decent size.
I.E Two paragraphs or more.
And not little pansy paragraphs either, they have to be chunky.
In this RP all characters will be Het; not because I have a problem of same sex relationships, but because it's just easier to set up the RP this way. xD
On the subjects of characters, if you make a boring genetic one, I will not accept you into this RP.
That means if they are just the same run of the mill Mary-Sue, you're not getting in.
Get some originality people, wow me. :U
You can only have a maximum of two characters they must be of different genders, however.
You are responsible for finding a picture of a piece of jewellery you character uses.
Please make sure to keep in theme of the RP, try to keep "super modern" jewellery down.

Rings.

Each character will be staying in a bungalow with their soulmate.
The Retreat offers group activities for all eight characters do to daily.
All the characters will eat together before doing these.
You can use real or anime pictures, no one famous, however.
I shouldn't have to tell you this, but all standard CS rules apply.

Character Profiles.

Girls.

Physical Description: Soun is not much to look at as she easily slips under the radar. With her average length, thick brunette locks, and her chubby cherub face, she certainly doesn't catch your eyes at a first glance. She stands at 5’7’’ and the last thing you’ll get from her is how much she weighs, don’t even ask. She's of a…stockier build then most women. Thick thighs with a chubby belly to match. It’s easy to tell she doesn't have all the boys running after her. If she was forced to tell you what my favorite feature was when it comes to her body, she'd have to say her eyes. Her large, mid-hue blue eyes are the only thing about her she'd call remotely cute.

Name: Soun Hare.
Age: 19.
Sex: Female.
History: Soun did not have the happiest of childhoods. Her father had always been a bastard of a man, and it had only grown and festered when he had developed terminal cancer. Six long and damning years filled with belittling and vicious comments about everything Soun was had left her with a broken self-esteem, a fear of all men and a plethora of other hang-ups. She was 12 when he finally died. Soun found comfort in the usual things, food and reading. Both were an escape from the reality she hated. She had learnt early that the world was a cruel place and she'd rather have no part of it.

Personality: Soun is a rather quiet and shy person with a preference to keeping to herself. Generally huddled into her beloved Greek mythology books, she's happy to let life pass her by. A naturally kind and mothering person, she is always there if someone comes to her for help, whether it be for help with their homework and boyfriend issues. But, her overwhelming avoidance of the human populating on the whole has stopped her from having any close relationships. It is not within her personality to shun people or relationships, however. She does long for a partner; whether it be casual or serious. Just like anyone would.

She has never ignored someone or passed up a chance to go out simply out of spite for people, it is her near-overwhelming fear of social interaction. The thought of someone not liking her, or finding her ugly and unappealing has left her with zero confidence and a worthless mind-set. She would never be able to approach someone and ask them out on a date.

But, do not let all this talk of kindness, motherly instinct and fearful behaviour sway you. There is a darker side to Soun. After all, there is a reason you don't back a scared dog into a corner.

Physical Description: 5ft4, long straight blonde hair that goes to her middle back. Startling blue eyes, a slight tan. She's petite, always has been.
Name: Morgan Eva Lovett
Age: 18
Sex: Female
History: Morgan grew up on a council estate in West London. A rough area, not made easy by her pretty frame. She attended a state school, and soon learnt that her talent for ballet was greatly frowned upon, and she was bullied for a number of years because of it. With time, she developed with the society and her dancing took new forms, including breakdancing.
Not often seen without a hoodie nowadays, she’s taken to sneaking out into the city to take her ballet lessons with the money she has made from her job at Tesco. One afternoon when she was 15, she was with her older brother, Roman. He had always approved of her dancing, and was walking her to the station as it was a cold, dark winter afternoon. He was knifed for the paper in his wallet, and the hooded man turned to Morgan. She can never forget the malicious glint in his eye as he approached her. Thankfully group of young men from her school saw what had happened and had run to her side before he could attack her or otherwise. The man ran off, leaving Morgan to faint onto the concrete floor. After a week in hospital, she was released. She could have left the next day, but she was scared of the streets. She flew to the States the next year, hoping to start a new life. She had only heard good things about glittering America, and she wanted out of the backstreets of London.

Personality: Morgan has quietened since her brother’s death, and she rarely ever talks. She has stopped dancing, which has also bottled up her feelings and emotions. Often on the verge of tears, though she hasn’t shed one. She’s tough however, she would rather spend a lifetime without talking than spill her emotions. After building…not a wall, more a fortress around herself, she has confined herself to her mind, making her a great thinker.
On the love side of life, she isn’t looking for anything. Not unless it hits her in the face with a frying pan, she wouldn’t be aware of it. She was convinced to go into the Gredrick Retreat by her friend, whom she had met at her job in Starbucks.

Physical Description: Tall, standing at 6ft2. Dark brown hair, often mistaken for black that can sometimes fall in his face. His eyes are deep green, which he inherited from his mother. He is well built, mainly due to the workout sessions he partakes in to clear his mind.
Name: Tamesis Daniel Williams
Age: 22
Sex: Male
History: Tamesis grew up in London, England. His family were wealthy, his parents politicians in the Houses of Parliament. They had always planned for Tamesis to follow in their footsteps, and had made him partake in various schemes to prepare him for his future he 'wanted' so much. When he was 16, he put his foot down. After years of a top education at Eton, he had ploughed through the work. After receiving 'the worst GCSE's at Eton', which in themselves were 12 A's, a very good set of results, his parents pushed him into summer school. The summer after GCSE's, while his friends were partying in Newquay and Cornwall, he was studying. Not one to complain, Tamesis bottled up the anger and frustration until the winter.
During a mentoring session with his parents and his tutor, his father had chirped how much Tamesis wanted to be a politician. At which, Tamesis had snapped. A fight issued, and he was promptly expelled from Eton, and cast out from his family for the embarrassment he had caused them. Thrown into a flat in London, he could live the way he truly wanted. Gaining friends via his job at the Ministry of Sound, he could pursue his music carer for which he was always passionate. Working part time as a street performer in Covent Garden, singing and playing his guitar for money, and as a DJ during the night, he eventually racked up enough money to travel to the States and continue his hope of becoming...not famous, but well off. He had heard of the Gredrick Retreat for a while, although not entirely sure of what it actually was. Curiosity soon got the better of him.
Personality: Tamesis is a hard worker, and not likely to give up on something. He will try, and try and try again, even if he doesn't succeed. Very protective of the one's he loves, Tamesis can also bring upon fights. He’s tough, and while he won’t back down from a fight, he can get a bit big headed sometimes. Past school-boy fights have taught him how to fight pretty decently, although he has suffered several injuries, the worst including a broken leg from when he charged at someone, knocking him and the boy off a high ledge. Somewhat proud, he won’t take an insult, even if it is said rather jokily.
He’s incredibly passionate about his music, and rarely travels without his guitar. He’s looking for someone who can respect what he wants to be, and also understand his background, although he is a bit too flirtatious for his own good.

Physical Description:Nema was always thin and pretty, she always had all the guys chasing after her in highschool. But for some reason she turned them all down, and that one reason was she thought that they were all to superficial. She wants someone who can accept her for who she is, gun lover and all. She thinks that her best features are her long legs.

Age:20
Sex:female
History: A sad childhood, Nema's was filled with abuse from both of her parents. She was once nearly shot by her father before Social Services intervined. She lived in a foster home with an old lady untill she was seventeen, the woman died from a heart attack, with unknown cuases. That was what the athorities said anyway. But Nema always knew who killed her adoptive grandmother, her father.

She learned that her mother died, by electric chair, after commiting murder with her husband. Nema's father had escaped prison and is still on the run. She still hates them, even though her mother is long gone. She barely finished her highschool career, working two part time jobs just to keep herself afloat. She only just saved up enough money to come here, and buy her new favorite thing which she is never seen without.

Personality:Someone who likes to keep to herself. That is the main sentance that describes Nema. She has been reluctant when it comes to getting close to someone, fearing for their safety. She seldom leaves her room, if only to get food. She talks with a knowing tone, and she does background checks on everyone. Anyone who gets remotly close, should be prepared to be pushed away.

Oh, and may I mention, she has one of the darkest secrets anyone could keep.
