I actually really liked Kylo Ren. His character has a lot of potential (and I'm a sucker for characters who are horrible, pretentious nerd babies *glances sideways at Alex Kralie* ....anyway) plus he's a total badass. I loved how they introduced him and made it immediately apparent that he's not someone to mess with, and then they kept doing it. People can call him a terrible person or a whiny brat all they want, but you can't say he's an ineffective villain. It also kind of scares me, because if according to Snoke his training isn't even finished yet, then imagine this kid at full power. I can't wait to see more of him.

I feel like in the 8th movie, Kylo will end up being more cold and calculating like Vader due to whatever training takes place

my brother told me something about adam driver (ren actor) today. he trained to be in the us marine corps for almost three years but he was in a horrible moutain biking accident. he was medically discharged from the marines just before he was about to go to iraq. poor him. but he probably wouldn't have been have been ren ;~;
i know it's kinda off topic but i'm bored and want to enlighten people.

i might be seeing force awakens again with my friends because they haven't seen it. one stupid friend of mine spoilt the movie the day after i saw it to me and a couple of friends. i'm so glad i saw it when i did.

purpleink > I totally agree with you on the map thing. Very poorly justified. Again it's up to us (the viewers) to try and put the pieces together :
Why leave a map if Luke wants to hide ? Maybe because he wants to be found. Maybe by someone in particular. Maybe that piece of the map wasn't randomly on Jakku. Maybe R2 didn't woke up totally randomly when Rey just put her foot on the base !!!

More days pass and I feel more and more frustrated by this movie as the initial post-viewing glee receid.

Someone got the lightsaber back? wth. It's supposed to have flown in the sky at the end of Empire Strikes back !

The old man Poe gets the map from is an old ally of the ex-rebels/resistance. Nothing more. But I had to read some book from the movie to get that info!

I went to the movie in my Star Trek t-shirt.

But on a more serious note, I thought the movie was well done. The plot picked up too quickly for my taste, but at least the audience wasn't bored. Finn and Rey were a cute couple, but a little awkward at times since she's so serious and he's more comical. Overall, the movie had high expectations to live up to. Although I'd say it passed, I don't think it did so with flying colors. Some of the plot elements were unoriginal, like person on desert planet that is unusually strong with the force and doesn't know it right away. Or how the Starkiller Base was basically just a revamped version of the Death Star. And you can't ignore the pain of realizing that Han and Luke are never going to be together again. Kylo Ren, I feel, is an intriguing villain who I hope we are going to be seeing more of in the next two. Those are just my thoughts on the film. I probably will be going back to see it a second time while it's still in theatres though.
