Im a bit on edge because in my area (USA, I wont be more in detail with that) theres a lot of tornadoes coming by. Im supposed to have one near my area at midnight.
May I know what the river by the sea thing means please?

This is a great question!

The phrase "from the river to the sea Palestine will be free" is referring to the piece of land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean sea.

During the event known as the Nakba in 1948 the Israeli military and other Israeli settlers massacred up to 15,000 people and displaced an estimated 750,000 Palestinians and set the post-Balfour declaration foundation for the apartheid state we know as Israel today. While these people were afraid, they expected to be able to return to their land between "the river and the sea," which had belonged to Palestinian people for centuries. Instead, Israel banned the right of return for the 750,000 refugees and settled the land they had taken, as they would continue to attempt for the next few decades. Today over 50% of Palestinians live in exile abroad in the diaspora.

The phrase "from the river to the sea Palestine will be free" calls for the return of equal status to Palestinians. For some this phrase means freedom of movement, as Palestinians cannot access their generational homes in the land Israel took from them; the Israeli military controls the borders between Palestinian territory and the rest of the land spanning between the river and sea. This may mean a two state solution in the minds of some activists and Palestinians in the diaspora. For others it implies an overthrow of the current political and colonial order of Israel altogether, returning all of Palestinians land back to their control. The phrase itself is a call for freedom and justice but does not actually hold one sole meaning, but many for the people who use it. It only refers to a geographic location. There are people in Hamas who use it freely and there some some fervent anti-Hamas Palestinians and activists who also use it. It is not singularly defined.
