Idk if it's considered a 'hot take' but I actually really like the Nick pets! I know there are people who don't but I think they're just really cute and silly, and honestly a nice switch up to the usual litters/line arts :>

I wish we got another litter of them outside of CS Birthday but I get Nick is busy with site management

teariffic wrote:hot take: sometimes ppl send swaps bc they need the outcome ! whenever i do swaps and they're cancelled bc 'i already got that pet' i get sad bc urs is a double that i need, mine is a double, its still a fair trade. i don't get why you wouldn't just accept a simple monthly for monthly swap if you've got extras and don't hoard lol

I used to accept them but then I was afraid it would be considered rude or hoarding new outcomes away from others who needed them so I stopped Dsfdfx I am sorry I am not great with social cues 😅 I absolutely get what you are saying and sometimes I give a double to some of the trades for free not always esp not when there is like 10+ trades but when I can I do

Another maybe hot take but I wish that the rarities of new pets didn't take so long to update ;v; Idk if I'm just impatient but having to wait a month-ish for a fully grown pet (in the case of early growths or events) feels like so long. Especially when it comes to trying to trade them for values. I feel like event pets should be adopted with their rarity already in place or something then maybe we'd have less trouble with the specific outcomes being overinflated

I just wanted to clear something up, rarities are determined by how many people own a pet, so pets can't really have rarities right out of the box or else they would inaccurate within a couple days as more get adopted. Event and token pets especially since its entirely dependent on how many people buy token pets and which ones they spend tokens on more than others. If they got rarities right away they would all start as 'omgsr' because only a couple people have adopted them, then when more were adopted it would go down. Thats why there is a waiting period, so when the rarities do come out, they are actually accurate.

*mic drop* Never have I seen so many shops before my return.

My hot take is that there is still good and healthy community members who understand the collection goals and aid in helping their fellow users. Adoption centers are a core helper! I strive to have my own adoption center one day. Working towards breaking out of my collection crazed goals though first lol

Hot take: people who dislike hoarding don't realize CS is just a game and everyone is entitled to play as they'd like! I see a lot of people complaining that they're greedy and not open to trade any off to people who need them, especially high value pets.

The thing is, they searched for them and traded for them fairly, just as anyone else would! It's no different than if someone else got it first and also locked it away for a collection. Either way, someone traded for it and now it's locked up, so what does it matter if they have one or ten? It's not like they're somehow paying less or have a high-value dealer, they're regular users just like anyone else

i like NFT welcoming groups. you usually have to look for a different tab anyways because of how most people set up their trade groups, why not have a few pets saying hello?

i don't personally hoard but have never understood the vehemently anti-hoarding attitude... i feel my connection to a pet is stronger when i have only one, but not everyone plays the game like me and feels the same way! i hardly ever see hoards of pets that don't have plenty to go around anyway, but if i do, they paid for them and spent valuable time looking for them🤷🏼‍♀️ 100% equal opportunity in all aspects is not in the nature of this website.
the disgraced one.

TLDR: NFT groups are a useful tool for trading
my hot take is that not for trade groups are actually a good tool ; hear me out ok - newer players may not have many old pets/many pets full stop, and upadating/perfecting your wishlist can be tedious, so newer players may find it harder to trade, as wishlists may not have many pets they can offer on them. not for trade groups can show off what type/style of pets a person likes, which can help newer players to trade, as they can select pets they think the person will like - i know that you can look at someones pets outside of trading to see them all, but if they are already in the trade, they are unlikely to bother going back to look.

personally, I've found that I've had a lot of trades now where the pets I've been offered aren't wishlist, yet i quite like them, as the person has looked at my NFT groups and tried to find similar pets - it allows me to recieve more trades, which is always nice!
also, many people only trade doubles, but dont lock their normal groups for whatever reason, but only labelled NFT groups are hated on in my experience, when technically it is the same ordeal, although that is slightly nitpicking lol!!

maybe I'm more open to NFT groups because when i trade, i experience the disappointment people say they face when seeing a pet is in an NFT group when i want to trade someone and i see the only pet on their wishlist is my omgsr dog, XD!
