I have quite a lot Irish in my genes, myself, though I was born in America. Half of me is European {English, Irish, Scottish} and the other half is Portuguese and German. I unfortunately cannot speak any Gaelic, though I'm actually learning German at this point. I'm embracing my European side and plan on moving to Ireland as soon as I gather enough money. I live in Washington at the moment, and even just a plane ticket to Europe is extremely expensive. There's my story ;) Hope you enjoyed it!

I lived in Ireland until I was eight; I had moved to America, and have lived there ever sense.
I still know a bit of my native language, but I've had little excuse to use it and much has been lost on me.

Cónaí orm in Éirinn go dtí go raibh mé ocht; bhí bhog mé go Meiriceá, agus tá cónaí ansin riamh ciall.
Tá a fhios agam go fóill le beagán de mo theanga dhúchais, ach tá mé go raibh leithscéal beag a úsáid agus i bhfad tar éis gur cailleadh ar dom.

I'm completely Irish, except I don't live there. I love my culture, and it's cool because my family own a massive property over In Ireland. All I know is;
Ciad Mile Failte. It means one hundred thousand welcomes. I learnt it when my Great Uncle came over from Cork.
