Why is he scared of Spaghetti?: His last master was a young girl. When ever she visited him, she would sometimes bring some spaghetti from dinner. This treat always came with something startling like a confetti popper, new loud puppy, or just a loud scream from the girl. Who knows why she did it. Anyway, now that he is with a new family, every time his new master or a stable hand eat spaghetti near him, he gets nervous and scares easily, thinking a huge explosion is heading his way.

Why is he scared of Spaghetti?: He used to be an army horse, and thankfully the war ended not too long after he was conscripted, but it was too late to save him from a devastating mental trauma. So many of comrades and human friends died in the bloody battles, and the bodies of the broken horses were cold-heartedly burnt on huge bonfires.
Years later the smell of any meat still brings him back to those days. It sends him into flashbacks that make him kick out and whinney loudly, oblivious to the real world, stuck in a nightmare. In that state he breaks things, terrifies his stablemates and even injures himself. It's so hard to interrupt his terrible trance that we take strict precautions with Joey now.
