'Dear Bree,
I don't know how to tell you this, but it's been irking me for a while now. I don't understand why nor do I even think this is really happening, but-'
The sound of crumbling paper filled the room as Lux ripped up the white paper of which she was writing on. The process of creating a cute note was hard and took many sheets of paper to finally get the perfect note. Sadly for Lux, the perfect note was not for her. Trouble was all she was having. It was so frustrating! She didn't even know if she had feelings for Bree, so why was she going through all of this trouble?
"Stupid, stupid, stupid! This was not as easy as I thought it would be," the black furred kiamara grumbled before tossing the crumbled paper into the trash. "Scratch this idea. This is for another time; I just can't think right now."
Lux stared at the paper that had piled up in her trash. They were in many different sheets of paper; white, pink, blue, green, it was a symphony of colors. A purple pencil rested on her desk along with a sharpener that overflowed with pencil shavings. Her desk was dusted with white eraser shavings here and there. It was quite a mess; a catastrophe that wasn't going to get cleaned.
The time Lux spent alone she valued, but right now she was beginning to feel irriated with herself. Maybe time alone wasn't the best thing to have at the moment. The female kiamara decided to ditch the note, mess, and stress to go see Bree.
Bree. The name that has been haunting Lux's thoughts for a while. She couldn't describe the feeling nor explain why it is there, but it sucked. A lot. Lux recently started feeling flustered and self-conscious around Bree, so it was difficult to interact with her. Luckily for Lux, a boost of confidence struck her like a lightning bolt; quickly and filled her with electric charge.
Lux's eyes trailed to the stash of rubber bands that rested on the table by her bed. It was fairly easy to spot; as easy as it could be with hair in her eyes. The female turned her head away from the table and stuck her paw into the container full of multicolored rubber bands. Five red rubber bands with one green and one purple is what she pulled out. Lux's tail flicked back and forth before she placed the rubber bands in an odd
order; red red green purple red red red. The kiamara didn't mind the disorganization however,
for that was the way she liked it.
Personality: Lux is very determined, never
giving up with out a fight. She
sticks to her beliefs and will
defend them to the death. Is
very protective towards those
she knows. Definitely more
protective towards them than
she is herself. She doesn't like
needing help from others, much
less asking for it. Lux loves
being with friends as well, don't
get her wrong, but sometimes she
just likes to run off and spend
some time to herself. Speaks her
mind and is straight forward with
you. She is often perceived as rude
and has lost many a friend because
of this.
Why does she cover her eyes?: She covers her eyes up because she
doesn't like them. Ever scince she
was little she has been bullied about
her eyes being different. Has pretty
bad eye sight because of this but
refuses to wear glasses.
Items: In feral form she wears two items,
the first is a large silver bangle that
takes up about 1/3 of her arm. It
has 3 indentations on it, making it
look as if it was 4 bracelets when in
fact its only 1. The other item, she
places rubber bands and string around
her tail. The number, placing, and
color of these change day to day.
Occupation: Lux owns a little candy shop and
runs it all by herself. She makes
all of the candy she sells from
organic ingredients, nothing
artificial.
Relationships: Friends:
Panini,
Marianne-Elise,
Bree (has a crush on her)
Looking around the room, she also spotted the large silver braclet that she often wore. The drawed back curtins on the window allowed light to hit the accessory, making it gleam; it was easy to spot. Lux reached for it and quickly put it on; she was really just doing all of this to stall her meeting with Bree. As quickly as the confidence came, it left. Perhaps crawling up into bed and just sleeping for the rest of the day was a good option. No, she was going. Lux wasn't going to back down. After all, Lux was determined to get this over with; she had to tell Bree how she was feeling.
With a slamming door and cold breeze, Lux was on her way to the candy shop of which she owned; the place Bree often went to around this time of day. The sound of children laughing and having a good time in the snow calmed Lux. All day she was upset over the fact that she couldn't do anything right; the calming atmosphere sure was doing her some good.
It wasn't too long before Lux saw her candy shop a few feet ahead. She was beginning to dread entering the shop; however, the feeling soon went away as she got in front of the door. Maybe Bree was feeling the same way Lux was; it wouldn't be awkward then. But then again, what if Bree didn't experience the same thing she was. Oh how weird it would be to share her thoughts with Bree only to be shot down with rejection.
The jingling keys shook as Lux put them into the lock and twisted it with a satisfying 'click'. The door opened with a soft creak and a jingle of the bell that hung above the door. Lux let out a loud sigh and turned the closed sign to open. Now it was time to wait for Bree by eating some treats. A jar of unsorted candy resided on the yellow counter. The pink register also rested upon the painted structure, not taking up a lot of space. Lux's black paw lifted up the lid of the jar and she stuck her free paw into the container, grabbing the first candy that came into contact with her; a pink lollipop with white swirls. The wrapper was clear and made the candy easy to see. Ripping off the clear plastic with ease, Lux stuck the treat into her mouth.
The sound of a bell ringing and a creaky door alerted Lux that someone was here. A certain someone that she was waiting for; Bree.
The black and white scarf of which Bree was wearing slightly dragged across the ground as Bree bounded up to Lux with excitement, "Hey Lux! Sorry I'm late arriving. I was actually flying my plane about an hour ago and I just lost track of time and-," Bree cut herself off and shook her head, the goggles that laid upon her head bounced up and down with her body. "You understand, right? I mean, it's not like I was late on purpose."
"It's fine. I guess I understand. Do you want anything; I will get you it if you want." Lux explained, trying to avoid Bree's presence so she couldn't embarress herself. She didn't want Bree to think she didn't like her, but the fact that Bree might not like her if she knew about her baby crush frightened her even more.
Yes, Lux had figured out the problem. No matter how she looked at it, it was indeed a crush. It wasn't really her fault that she was crushing a tiny bit on the other kiamara, but it happened. It's not like she can control who she does and doesn't like. Lux made eye contact with Bree only to look away shyly.
Bree raised an eyebrow but shook it off. She wasn't going to press on the subject too much; unless Lux continued to act this way. Her green splotched ear flicked with curiosity,"Of course I'd like some sweets," the daredevil explained,"Surprise me."
Lux left with a quick nod to go find some treat to give Bree. It would be hard, seeing as she didn't request a specific kind. Her eyes scanned the many shelves full of assorted candies. A certain type caught her gaze as she scrolled over the cavity giving sweets. Rock candy. It was a perfect idea. Lux grabbed the blue colored candy; blue raspberry flavored.
Bree watched as Lux searched for some treat to give her. She watched her movement as Lux went to reach for candy only to pull back and reach for something else. At last, as soon as Lux had grabbed the rock candy Bree felt relieved. It was delicious candy that she would enjoy to say the least.
Lux padded back to Bree with the brown stick of the candy in her mouth. She quickly gave the sweet treat to the kind kiamara,"I hope you don't mind this candy. I thought you'd like it." Lux quietly told her. She had made sure to put Bree into consideration when she picked out the candy; not any piece would do anyways.
Bree grinned as she collected the treat Lux had gathered for her,"Thanks, Lux," she replied with a happy voice. Her grin slowly faded as she stared at Lux's anxious form. Now she definitely was going to ask Lux what was wrong.
"Lux, are you alright? You seem kind of out of it today. Is something bothering you; you can tell me if that's the case, ya know." Bree pressed.
Lux adverted her gaze,"I'm fine, really. You don't need to worry about me." She was usually straight forward, but it was becoming difficult at the moment.
Bree narrowed her eyes at Lux and lifted her paw in the air to emphasize what she was about to say,"I know you're lying. It's not hard to find out you're keeping secrets from me! Come on, you can tell me! I wont laugh, I swear!" Bree promised, thinking it was simply a silly little problem.
Lux blinked before letting out a large breath of air. She didn't really realize she had been holding air in her lungs, but clearly she had been. The kiamara cleared her throat,"Alright...I'll ask you this, Bree. How do you tell someone that you may have a tiny itty bitty crush on them," She drew out the words and shifted awkwardly,"I mean, if I did like someone that way, how would I tell them?"
Bree sat down and appeared to be in deep thought. It was really a hard question, for it depended on who she was trying to tell. The female finally came to a conclusion and stated simply,"Just go out and say it to them. I'm sure even if they don't accept your feelings, you'll stay friends! I am sure of it!"
Lux felt relieved by her statement. Even if Bree didn't return her feelings, they could still stay friends. The black kiamara looked at the other and muttered softly,"Okay," she nervously began,"I think I like you." An apparent blush formed on Lux's face.
Bree's ear flicked and her head tilted in confusion,"I'm sorry, what? I didn't hear you." She plainly replied, her tail thumping against the ground with anticipation.
Lux adverted her gaze and spoke once more,"I said I like you!" The blush that adorned her features got darker as she looked at Bree's expression. It held surprise.
It was true, Bree was surprised. She didn't really know how to respond. An upset look glazed her features and she spoke with a soft voice,"Oh, Lux. I didn't know that you felt that way. I'm sorry-" She cut herself off and pulled Lux into a small hug,"We're still friends, you know."
Lux blinked before responding with a sad voice,"Oh..Friends.. Yeah, we're still friends." The female kiamara glumly hugged the other.
"It's fine though. I mean, I can't blame you." Bree responded with a small smile. Even if Bree didn't return the feelings now, it didn't mean it may never happen. Besides, they are only ten. Hope was still there. Time would soon take it's course.
