That's not entirely true. Accounts do get deleted after an inactive period, however premium accounts never get deleted so that paying members are protected. I understand that it must have been frustrating to have your account deleted, but I understand why they need to clean up their servers to avoid account clutter as well.

Actually, premium accounts only get a few months extra before their account gets deleted.. I don't remember exact amount of time they get, but regular players get something like 3 months of inactivity before they are deleted and premium members get something like 9 months of inactivity before they get deleted. No matter what you do, you still get deleted if you go on hiatus. There are no "never deleted" opportunities for player's accounts.

I found the verbage in the official game FAQ so we don't have to debate anymore!

"Basic accounts will be deleted automatically by the game after 90 days of inactivity. Premium accounts will be deleted automatically by the game after 1 year of inactivity. So, if you would like your account deleted, don't log into it."

I still think a year is reasonable, but now we know. ;)
