It is a homemade victoria sandwich cake with buttercream icing, covered in white icing and hand painted with blue food colouring. Squiddy is on it. Squiddy is made from white marzipan that was coloured with red food colouring and then dabbed with paper to give it a pink marble-ish look to it, although I'm not sure how well that shows in the pictures. More marzipan was added to look like a balloon (although it doesn't look very much like a balloon :/ ) with a 3 painted on it with the blue food colouring.
