Elysium Gravens are a species I created in order to practice designing more.
These are not adoptables- I will not be making customs or giving them out. The only thing I will be doing is coloring them in for practice or good friends- that's it.
They are chimera-like gryphons with mythical abilities relevant to the element they are born bonded too. They have dragon-like tails, unicorn ears, and other mutations that vary, some more common than others. The older the Elysium, the stronger the magic. They have 2 forms- one is human, and the other is their animal form.
They are born in clans- each clan has a set element that they maintain control over. Breeding between clans is possible, but the child will only have one of its parents' elements, not both. Some hybrids may develop some slight tolerance to the other parent's element, but it is very, very rare and not actually very effective.
There is in-fighting between clans.
Water elementals are allied with Wind, who hate Earth. Earth elementals are divided in to two separate factions- Plants and Mineral, amongst themselves. The two types of Earth absolutely hate each other. Fire Elementals are prone to fight everybody- the clan, like the element, has a bit of a temper an dis hard to control. Darkness clan seems to be the source of the other clan's fighting, because they tend to be the masterminds behind all other wars and act as puppet masters to certain individuals with high rank in each clan. This is because they have a vested interest in wars and fighting- the majority of Shadow Clan makes its living as mercenaries. However, they also act bodyguards in some cases. Light is the only one that remains neutral, claiming that it is not nature's way to choose sides.
Clan Quirks:
Darkness Clan: are extremely weak to sunlight and become very tired and unable to function when exposed to it for too long.
Light Clan: is unable to heal themselves- they may only heal members of other clans, leading to a high fatality rate among their own kind when out on the battlefields.
Fire Clan: can't actually start fires- they can only manipulate preexisting ones. Usually, they carry around lighters to counteract this inability.
Water Clan: dehydrates very quickly, so they must constantly drink water. This means journeys toward deep inland are virtually impossible unless they follow streams and rivers or carry a boatload of extra water with them. which is logistically impossible.
Wind Clan: are deathly afraid of going underground or living in enclosed areas, so they must sleep under open skies or their instincts will actually drive them insane, an illness they call Earth Poisoned. Even in bad weather, they won't take cover. None of their houses have roofs, but they've evolved a high tolerance to the cold because of this lifestyle.
Earth (Plants) Clan: have poisonous saliva, and this saliva differs from individual to individual. Because of this, they have to be extremely careful not to accidentally come in to contact with each other's saliva, which is very, very hard for them to do since they instinctively want to chew on things constantly. Because the results could be deadly, they tend to live alone or very far from each other, yet communicate regularly using messenger birds.
Earth (Mineral) Clan: can't see in the dark, but make their nests in caverns. Because of this, they must rely on their other senses when in their homes. Also, they cannot fly. Unlike other Gravens born with wings, Mineral Clan Gravens have very thick, heavy bone density and therefore lack the ability, hindering them to traveling on foot in human form as the most convenient way to get about.
They Do:
- lay clutches, not give birth as humans. All Elysiums are born as animals and only after special training obtain human form (which I'm not capable of drawing, so ...)
-hunt in packs, or groups known as Murders.
- vary in personality, size, and shape.
