Technically, I'd already finished the art I was going to submit for the Mounted Gladiatorial Games... then I sat down and this happened. xD
My character Nikolai(front) versus ~Bast~'s character Jace. I'm so excited to see how this round is going to turn out! Bast has such talent herself and I can really say I've been pushed to work harder at both my art and my writing since being paired against her! <3

Anyways, on to the image. One of the most detailed pieces I've ever done, or at least, one of the most difficult images that I've strived to add detail to. I'm slowly breaking into drawing humans, and while I see flaws I'm definitely satisfied with this drawing.

Ooh, very nice. I like how you drew the Colosseum. I also quite like how you designed the horse armour. It's very, very close to how I imagined the armour to look like in the Games.

Thanks wild! 8D I'm glad I could match it up! I had considered adding neck armor but I wanted to do a flowing mane so I forewent that. And I had leg bracers in the sketch work but forgot them in the lineart... oops. xD

oreobrady: I know, right? xD Before the Gladiator Ring, Nikolai had never even seen a horse. All the mounts in these Games are trained war horses, which equals a lot of confusion on both sides of the saddle.
