"Oh, look at that shooting star. Did you see it, Hoppy?" Shadowfire swivelled her head to face the little creature sitting beside her. Hoppy, however, wasn't watching the stars. Instead, he was curled up in a tiny ball against Shadowfire, eyes closed and breathing calmly. He had fallen asleep. While reading. Well, Shadowfire thought, that's completely normal for Hoppy, I guess. Usually, Shadowfire would be furious with someone who had fallen asleep while she was talking to them, but, oddly enough, she wasn't angry with Hoppy. She shared some sort of bond with the small rodent, one that she couldn't describe. With a small smile, Shadowfire whispered,
"Sleep well, Hoppy."
And then she rested her head on her front paws, falling asleep almost instantly.
Shadowfire and Hoppy are two members of my group of six fursonas, whom I refer to as the 'Solitaries.' Shadowfire has a grumpy and impatient attitude, whilst Hoppy is sweet and caring. Strangely, despite their opposite personalities, the two are best friends. I had the urge to draw the two of them together, and write a small paragraph to go with the picture. This is how it turned out!
