Cow Skull

Postby Lady Mekka » Fri Aug 26, 2011 7:31 pm

Timer is all knowing. Done with tablet.

One of my friends owns a cattle ranch, and a few days ago I went to visit her. While we were walking through the fields, we stumbled across a sun bleached cow skull. It's been rattling around in my brain, so I finally got around to making a pic of it! :D I'm very proud of this, I usually stink at gray scale. I'll probably come back to this tomorrow and make a decent background, loosely based on Dia de los Muertos skull designs. Because I love them. Right now I need to go to bed. It's 3:28 am, and I have a busy day tomorrow. |D Good job, Mekka. Good job.

EDIT: ene Anyone think this is Intermediate worthy? ewe I'm so terrified to try to post something there... >.>

EDIT 2: I'm finally happy with the background! ^(^_^)^

This is amazing! <3

I love the shading, especially.

(I fail at realism. |D)

Don't worry, I know how you feel about the Intermediate thing. <'3

I seen one of those, only it had meat on it still and they eyes were still in and the tung was out and the skin was gone and it was off the body, yes, grandpa was doing a job at a slaughter house and he showed me around and locked me in a room full of cow bones that stunk to high heavens, but i got him back and locked him in where they had the cow bodies and heads all over

@Greenie: |D Usually I fail at realism. I was surprised when this happened. :D ~<3 Thank you!

@The True Werewolf: e_e That sounds sort of gross, but oddly interesting. My friend said that the cow had been attacked by wolves, so she had to move the herd to another pasture, and just never got around to taking care of the body. But, with 4,000+ head of cattle to take care of between herself and one other person, I can't say I blame her. :3

@Muddie: |3 Aw, thank you!

Beautiful, it's difficult to draw animal skulls.

~<3 Thanks, EarthStar! :D

I changed the background a bit to give it a 'Dia De Los Muertos' feel. I'm still not completely happy, so I might change it... again. X'D

Okay, so because there seems to be some confusion- Yes, I do have an art shop. No, my art shop orders aren't done in Oekaki. No, my art shop orders don't look like this! The link is in my siggy. What you see is what you get.

Lornsome night,
babbits bawlin',
wind bitin' the bone.
Wind like this,
full of voices.
Ancestry howlin' at you;
Now, find you devil,
Old Georgie himself.
Now you hear up close
and I'll yarn you about
the first time we met
eye to eye.
'you bring the stories'.
All their voices
tied up into one.
One voice different,
one voice whispering
out there,
spying from the dark.
